ABC Insulation

This service was everything I expected and more. I was looking for a second opinion on the overall condition of my attic and the owner/inspector arrived on time an provided me with the information I was looking for. The thermal camera worked great. From down below we could see colder spots showing on the ceiling and when we went up in the attic we were able to find the cause of the cold spot. (a lack of insulation or improper fit of insulation.) Afterwords the inspector provided me a reasonable estimate to put more insulation in my attic. When I have time to research my insulation options further, I will probably have the same company come back and install the insulation they recommended.

I had purchased a deal to have them do an inspection. Steve and I discussed areas of concern for me and he provided an estimate for work. We scheduled and the crew came on the agreed day. The reason for the B on professionalism is because the day was a snowy day. Some of the workers came in and walked onto my carpeted stairs in their wet boots. They did put down coverings after I commented, but did not have enough to cover the entire area. I needed to add some large towels to protect my flooring. They did clean the area in the kitchen and back stairs when they completed. Except for the one glitch at the start, the workers were courteous and completed the work as expected. They tried to insulate an area in my kitchen that was difficult and did what they could. All in all I found them to be satisfactory and I can see a difference in the temperature of the areas they insulated.

I was very happy with the service that I was provided by ABC Insulation. I was provided a quote over the phone without the contractor looking at my house. The quote was for $1752 to install baffling and 8 inches of insulation in 2 attic areas of my 2600 sqft house. We set a date and a time for the work to begin. The contractors showed up exactly when they told me they were going to show up, performed the work that they had quoted, and cleaned up after they were done. I wish every contractor worked like this! After they finished each attic area, they offered to let me climb up their ladder to look at the attic areas and the insulation they had installed. The entire job took about 2 hours and was faster than I expected. These guys took great care to not make a mess in the house and took care not to damage the walls and furniture with cords and hoses. At the end of the job, they charged me exactly the amount that was quoted. The entire job went very smoothly and I would definitely hire them again.

He did what Angie's List said he would do just not a comprehensive anaylsis, no heat loss calculations, detailed action plan; just a verybal 'here's where it's cold' - which I already knew. Waste of money. He did recommend I contact Dominion Energy for comprehensive plan including a blow-test for $50.00 - about the same I spent on ABC Insulation.

It went fine. He came out and did a great job of identifying a couple of spots that were problematic. He used a heat sensor. He's very thorough and very professional. It's a good company. I purchased a Big Deal. He was in contact with me within a day. Because of timing of the holidays, it took a few weeks for the appointment, but that wasn't anyone's fault.

It was fine and it took him about 20 minutes. One employee came out. He was very nice and friendly. He recommended to put more insulation into my attic. It was about a $1,000 estimate. I was looking more for feedback on what I could have done to keep my house warmer.

The process was very smooth. I called on a Thursday to schedule an estimate; Steve came out on Saturday to see what was needed, and provided an estimate for the work (I ended up paying their minimum service call, $350). They came out on Tuesday as scheduled. The drilled small holes in my ceiling to blow the insulation in, then patched and textured the holes when they were done. Very professional, took care to minimize the dirt and impact to my house, and nice guys too. In and out in a little under 2 hours.

They were wonderful. The price was reasonable. I did research before I hired them. I recommended them for my sister for next year.

Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful. Was on time and did excellent cleanup. I appreciate his extra work like applying rolled insulating pad on the back side of the attic access cover in the new addition section. The insulation has been effective in keeping the interior warmer and preventing heat loss through the roof (effectively eliminating icesicles on the outside of the house).

Steve came out same day. He was very thorough in scanning throughout the house and answered all my questions. I will definitely contact Steve for any future insulation needs.

Steve was prompt in answering my bid on his special service from Angie's List. He called and set up the appointment for a whole week earlier than I had asked, called again from his morning appointment to tell me he was on his way. He explained how his "camera" worked and showed me the spots where there seemed to be no insulation -- this from walking around INSIDE my house on the first and second floors. I was amazed! Then he used my ordinary step ladder, hoisted himself into my attic from two points - the garage and a second floor bedroom -- and called down that he saw "disturbed insulation" up there. He walked across girders and decided that someone had kicked the insulation aside while in the attic. He put it back in place before exiting the attic. I'm guessing it was probably the inspector or mold remediation fellow when we bought the house. Steve was careful not to bring down any yellow insulation with him when he descended, re-hung my ladder in the garage and proclaimed as he left, "Well, I could sell you insulation, but you don't need any!" THAT is the kind of honesty I appreciate and respect. I'm going to recommend Steve to all my neighbors and THANK YOU, Angie's List!!

Steve came out on time to give me the estimate - already a plus as one other contractor never even called back. Out of the three bids I received, he was the only contractor to tell me I needed baffles. He was, of course, correct - this was something our home inspector noted also. Steve's price with the baffles and wrapping our recessed light fixtures was either lower or about the same as the other bids we received which did not include these items. But price aside, Steve seemed to be much more knowledgable than the other guys. When it came time to do the job, ABC Insulation showed up on time again. Steve and his crew were polite and kept my home clean. Steve even added insulation to an area off the garage which wasn't included in the original quote. I was very happy with their work, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs insulation installed. Be sure you at least get a quote from ABC Insulation - they are very competitive, and they know their stuff.

The work done by ABC Insulation was excellent. They arrived on time, were efficient, and removed whatever debris was created. The foreman (whose name escapes me, sorry) was particularly helpful. He actually removed an in-ceiling lighting fixture above the kitchen sink, which he thought was unsafe, due to the age of its knob-and-tube wiring. Everything went smoothly. I'd hire them again, but I only have one attic to insulate!

Everything was wonderful. I called 2 or 3 companies, and they gave me more than what the other companies were offering for the same price.

The service turned out great. They showed up on time, did the job, cleaned up after themselves, and they also helped me fill out the forms to get a rebate.

They took out the old falling insulation and blew in all new insulation along the what I call floor of the attic and along the walls inside toward the upstairs walls to make that comfortable. They made a small hole in the one bedroom closet wall to blow in insulation on the west side and then proceeded to close that with a wooden board. All in all, a very profession service and am extremely happy!
