Neubert Painting

The young men who did the painting were outstanding, very responsible, professional and conscientious. Their supervisor was also great. I was very pleased with their work and their desire to make sure that everything was right!

They were not the best with punctuality. They rescheduled several times which was extremely frustrating and the crew was mildly unprofessional. So it wasn't a terrible experience, but I wasn't impressed.

I was very pleased. Alex and his crew worked very hard and did a great job. Their price was about 10% higher than my second choice. I selected Neubert because they could get the job done sooner and they have a great warranty. I'm happy with my decision.

After the crew had reglazed several windows but before beginning work on the back overhang, the manager called to let us know that Neubert Painting does not remove gutters and gutter guards prior to painting even though we stated that we wanted that to be done in the contract. The reason we wanted that done was because the construction crew that built the back door overhang had attached the gutter and gutter guards before any painting had been done on the bare wood. We ended up just having Neubert's company painting the back overhang without removing the gutters because we couldn't find anyone to remove them during the time period that we had Neubert at our house to do the rest of the job. We might have shopped around more for a company that could have honored our contract. We were surprised that we were not notified until after the job had been started. Several months passed between submission of the contract and the arrival of the painting crew at our house. The work that was done was good. It just wasn't the work that we agreed upon.

I met with several painting contracts in September, 2007 to obtain quotes to paint my house. After speaking with several contractors, I chose Neubert Painting to do the job and scheduled the work for Jun, 2008. Although the proposal from Neubert was the most expensive bid, it was the only bid which included three years of touch up work. I was also impressed that the company has been in business for 30 years. A week before the paint crew arrived, the house was power washed. When the contract was signed, John Neubert estimated it may take three weeks to do this job. The painting crew arrived on Monday, June 16. They immediately began prepping parts of the house before priming and painting. The crew consisted of four painters. The crew leader provided daily status report in written and verbal form. Each status report included the work that had been done to date, work done that day and plans for the next day s work. It was obvious the job was well managed. The crew leader broke a very large job into smaller sections. By doing this, he was able to keep the job moving quickly. The entire job was completed in eight working days. The entire crew was very professional and did an excellent job. They protected windows and plants in areas where they were painting. Caulking around each window was checked and fixed as windows were painted. As window painting progressed, we were asked to make sure windows could still be opened. The crew quickly addressed the few windows that were painted shut. A few days after the job was complete we received a customer survey. The cover letter stated the crew leader s bonus is partially dependant on the results of customer comments. This is an impressive way to assure quality work. I highly recommend Neubert Painting. The high initial cost will be offset by savings in future years and having a paint job which will last longer than prior paint jobs.

They did a good job of preparing our house for painting. We have used them for 25 years. He has been in business since college. He is very professional and he works to please the customer. He does an excellent job of cleaning up when he is done.

They have a follow up program and they come for the next 3 years to patch and make sure everything still looks good. They actually followed through with that and I appreciate it.

Everything about them was satisfactory. They came, did the job and were in and out with no hassle. We plan to hire them for interior work.

The prep work was very thorough. The shutters and windows needed a lot of work and the speed and efficiency was impressive. The painting was completed on schedule and the follow up for the one spot that bled through the prep work was quickly resolved. The clean up and care of the landscaping was continuous. There was no sense of me having to live through chaos!

Two workers arrived promptly and worked carefully and steadily. They were pleasant to work with, very professional and they followed their company rules forbidding the use of radios and/or distracting or noisy devices, and amazingly they did not spend time on their cell phones as is now so time consuming and commonly done. They always checked with us on matters when in doubt and a supervisor stopped by the morning of the second day to check their work and to see if they were were pleased with their performance. There were no extra charges. The job was completed in 2 1/2 days and everything was carefully cleaned before they left. They did an excellent job and were most pleasant to work with and we will definitely employ this company again when need arises.

We contacted Neubert and three other Angie's List companies and two non-List companies. Neubert was the most professional and responsive. They guarantee their work for three years and will come back in each of those years for touch-ups. The crew were all very pleasant and left the exterior clean each day. Some siding and trim had to be replaced and they came back and finished the job.

Disappointed in the service because left a mess. They did not call to let us know that they were coming out to do the job. They did not say anything when they left. The mess was paint chips left on the ground.

John, the owner, gave me an estimate of $1200.00 at the beginning of the summer to paint my house. His crew never came, even after three telephone calls. At the end of the summer, I received a call that they would start on September 10. No one showed up. September 11...no one showed up. I called John for the fourth time only to have him tell me that the estimate has changed to $6600.00. He was not apologetic for the error, and was even curt and rude when I questioned his policy of making me wait for an entire summer only to find out at the end of the painting season that the estimate more than tripled! I was desperate at this point because I'm trying to sell my house and agreed to the ridiculous new estimate, at which point he said he would still not be able to paint my house for another two weeks. It was maddening and I was forced to cancel the agreement.

Our agreement was to paint the house only, excluding windows that were fronted with storm windows. After I signed the contract, he sent me a letter telling me that High School boys would be doing the work. The boys did good work, but I think Mr. Neubert should have told me about that before I signed. They completed the house, but did not paint any of my windows that are not fronted, nor did they paint the rear patio door. I sent them a letter and said I would not pay my bill until they finished the job. Mr. Neubert called me and said he did not do the windows because it was too time consuming. He has threatened to take a lean on my house if I do not pay. The front door also has a piece of molding that was not painted, and the gazebo molding was not painted either.

Evident that quality was major concern from the contracting stage on. Price was very competitive, service was clean and careful and quick. Crew was pleasant and responsive to changes and even fixing mistakes caused by the owner ( messed up a wet door immediately after paint and their redo was prompt and respectful). Kept us informed daily of the progress and plans in writing. Cleaned up like they were never there. Job looks terrific.

We were very happy with the final results, although the crew underestimated the time it would take. They told us the house would be completed the next day when they still had a lot of detail to finish. We called their supervisor, who came out and set things straight. He even made them re-do some windows that did not meet his high standards. He took us around the house to make sure we had no other concerns. They were very responsive and meticulous.

They were extremely thorough, cleaned up after, extremely polite and receptive to requests.

John Neubert came out and gave us an estimate, and we made a deposit and scheduled the house painting for the summer, with a completion date of June 10. In early June, the company came out and power washed the house and garage. They painted samples on a discrete part of the house so we could confirm the colors we had chosen. The paint crew started on June 16 and completed the job in 7 days (there were a couple days of rain that week). The paint crew consisted of a handful of painters and a crew manager. At the end of each work day, the manager left us a note describing the work that they had accomplished. The paint crew was professional and extremely respectful of the property. They cleaned up each day and neatly stored their materials. After the job was completed, we noticed some areas the painters had missed, and the crew manager came out and fixed the problem himself. We did notice a few areas of over spray. Overall, we are thrilled with the results. The house looks GREAT!

Found all employees from salesmen, supervisor to crew very courteous, polite and respectful. Job performed was very thorough and meticulous and done excellently. We are more than happy and satisfied with the work and would definitely use them again for repeat business.

Neubert Painting presented and proved themselves to be professional, thorough, and attentive. Due to the extensive amount of preparation work needed on this over-due paint job, John Neubert even asked whether I had considered siding the home instead! (He recognized the added cost necessary to properly get rid of the badly flaking and peeling siding-and made me aware that-if it was to be painted properly-it would not be inexpensive.) That reflects an up front honesty of a professional-honest attitude. Neubert was the highest of three bidders invited on this project. But the detail of their preparation procedures, and their 3 year warranty communicated to me that this was a company-from ownership down-that I could depend on. The work crew was timely, friendly, and had a great work ethic. Their Crew Leader Rick listened to all of my questions and concerns as the project progressed-and before they left the job-all of those questions and concerns were addressed.

Mr. Neubert was arrogant and condescending. I had a few basic questions to ask him about how he does he work. He was greatly offended when I posed the questions. He then went on a tirade against his competitors, spoke down to me, behaved defensively and poorly and intimated that I could not afford him anyway, despite the fact that my house is in a very very good neighborhood. I considered asking him to leave my property at that time. I decided to wait for his estimate which turned out to be double the price of the other 4 estimates that I have obtained. His behavior was so poor that I had to report it on Angie's List.

I was called by Neubert in response to an Angie's list recommendation. I presume that a young girl called me back. Her voice sounded very young. I explained what I needed and the directions to the site. She became very adamant and rude when I couldn't give her an exact address. I didn't know it, But its location was very EZ to find. A corner building @ W117th and Fortune Ave. is what I told her. It was an exasperating phone call.

Crew was professional, thorough, communicative, and very responsive to homeowner concerns about the whole process. Work done right and on time. Very pleased.

He did a very good job. I would use them again for painting because they did quality work. I was very satisfied.

Their prep was terrible and within two days the paint was peeling and there were drips all over. I called the owner to come out and check the quality he refused and he said we should just cancel the work. I called another company who did great work.
