They were professional, prompt and did an excellent job.
Description of Work: I needed to have my new sliding glass door changed from wired to wireless. They installed 2 key pads, 2 smoke detectors and new box to take over my system from another company.

We have had ADT service at our home for over a year. When we shut a door today, the sensor fell to the floor and could not be reattached. We called for service and were told that they could not come until December 9th. When my husband told them that was unacceptable, they put him on hold for twenty minutes to talk to a scheduler. The scheduler told my husband . that they could come December 8th between noon and 5 pm. My husband has to take a day off work because they do not provide services in the evening or weekends. We are considering changing alarm companies and would suggest that if people work, that they look at the service delivery limits when they consider ADT.

I had to break my contract with them due to life changing circumstances and they made no concession with the contract. They don't make it clear when making the contract. It was just very difficult and I had to pay the penalty which was 75% for a 3 year contract.
Description of Work: Wouldn't allow me out of my contract due to life changing circumstances.

As stated above. I will be looking for a new services.
Description of Work: I contacted ADT service line for system repair on 10 times for repair. I sat in phone cues for hours at a time and was placed on hold for hours at a time. This is the worst service I have ever received from any company in living memory. As of this time the service has still not been repaired.

On July 26th I called because my alarm was not working. They said they could not send anyone out until August 13th since they could not get it fixed over the phone.
Description of Work: They tried to trouble shoot over the phone with me about the system not working. They first said that a tower must have been down. They could not get the service to work. They set up an appointment to come out and take a look.

We had a neighbor that had his house had been broken into; we felt like we might also be in danger of being broken into. We had heard about ADT, and we went with their price because we wanted the service installed quickly -- and ADT was well known. We signed a 2-3 year deal and the installer was there within a few days to put in the new system. He did an excellent job and provided me with a lot of information. He did the total install in about an hour to an hour and a half. We love the new system. The office has called to see how things are going. The alarm did go off one time when we weren't home, and we found that it was due to a cat. The police did come as a result. I definitely feel safer with ADT.

Appointments for basic information on their service were kept and were timely. Once the contract was signed, I could never reach the sales person John Lang again. Left 3 messages, wouldn't return my calls. This was prior to the install, so in my opinion, he was still our sales person and our person to contact with questions. Apparently he felt once your contract is signed, that's all he cares about. I also need a medical alert system and was put in contact with yet another ADT person for that service. They combine the two services, or at least not with the same sales person, so it requires you to meet with yet someone else. That person is out of North Canton and despite a few phone calls to her, her response time as well as complete lack of reliability in scheduling an appointment mean I will be contacting another provider for the medical alert system. John Lang also did not clearly note some changes for the installation and the installer completely missed installing 2 new window sensors and disabling a motion sensor. If there was decent communication, this wouldn't have happened. The security system has only been installed for 2 days, during which it hasn't been "Armed", so at this point it's difficult to tell how well the system works and if there are any glitches.
Description of Work: Provider installed home security system in my mother's home. Rate above is monthly, which I wish I had done more research. I suspect I could've found comparable service for better price

At first the alarm system did not function correctly they came out twice and fixed the problem. I added extra windows which were 100.00 a window. Extra products so I could crack open windows cost me $10.00 per window. The $100.00 visa rebate card I have found to be a problem using since most places have to have a pin number. I have found home depot to the only place I could use it. I did have prompt response when the alarm did go off. Knowing the company is USA and locally makes me feel assured I did make the best choice.

It took several phone calls to try to suspend service during a renovation. Letter to suspend had to be mailed, they would not fax or send as a PDF. It took a week to arrive and only when I did receive the letter did I learn they were still going to charge me $10 per month despite not providing any monitoring services. I will be switching monitoring services.

I called ADT and scheduled a service call to determine the cause of the alarm. The service person arrived during the time period promised and immediately went to work to find the cause of the false alarm. A fire alarm by my front entrance was found to be the culprit of my false alarm. The faulty fire alarm was immediately replaced by a new alarm. Further inspection of the ADT service panel in the basement found a system battery that was past it's prime and the battery was replaced . It was determined that the alarm and battery lost communication and the alarm was activated. Additionally the service tech demostrated to me and my wife some short cuts in setting and deactivating the ADT alarm system. No charges were given to me because I have a service contract with ADT.
Description of Work: My home had a fire alarm that sounded at 3:00 am. It turned out to be a false alarm, but the fire department and EMS responded to the alarm and visited my home. Their inspection also indicated the alarm to be false.

I don't like ADT. I don't like the agents. They didn't give me any contact so I cancelled it. The price is reasonable. I didn't use it that much so I don't know how the quality is.

Our old system had several components that were failing and the old company wanted $1200 to replace it. ADT came and replaced all the broken components, checked all the rest of the system, installed a new keypad and "brain" for the system and tested everything. The total cost to us was $99 for a key fob to turn the system on and off. Our monthly monitoring fee only went up 99 cents a month. We feel it was a great deal. The sales person and the installer were both very knowledgeable and spent all the time needed teaching us how to us the new system. They both showed up on time and when a question did come up later and we called the main office, our call was answered immediately and to our satisfaction. I would recommend them highly.

.I have had 2 issues with my ADT security system since the first of this year. Both times that ADT comes out they do not have the parts for the repair and I have to reschedule an appointment leaving my system not working correctly for several weeks. The system is 4 years old. I have tried to call them several times but after 20 minutes waiting I hang up. I have also e-mailed several times but have yet to get a response. It has been over 2 weeks. I will continue to use them until my contract is up but then I will get someone that will take care of you after you sign.

They were great; the only thing is that about a week after they put it in the alarm went off and the police were called but it was because the battery died. I felt like that should not have happened but maybe I was supposed to do something and didn't. We were not thrilled with that. They were an hour and a half late coming to install it; then we had to wait even longer while they got their telephone work done while installing our system. It was okay but it was a pain. I will use them again in the future.

Have been a paying customer of ADT and alarm system for 20 years. They called me to tell me that they were not receiving a signal from my system. Had to have a service person check it who told me the panel was not working and I needed a new one and disconnected mine. I paid $128. for him to tell me that. All I wanted was for it to be fixed. I had to call the number given to me and that was the sales dept. who told me I had to have someone come out, discuss what I needed, sign "some papers" before it could be fixed. I called other numbers saying I didn't need a sales person, just wanted mine fixed and got no promised return calls so had to keep calling. Finally was told that "some papers" was a new contract. I felt that my original contract was still in effect and valid and did not want to sign a new one which was a 3 year commitment for the full price no matter what. I was told the repair would be $99 with a new contract and given prices ranging from $200-$700 without a contract depending on who I was talking to. I had paid my quarterly payment in advance and did not have service for at least 5 weeks before it was fixed which at one point I was told would be reimbursed, but I am sure will not be. They were not interested in the fact that I had already been a 20 year customer. I chose to have it fixed without signing a new contract. It cost an additional $460 for that. Several years ago they wanted me to sign "some papers" which was also a new contract (not as bad as the current one) because I asked them to change the billing name to mine after my husband died. I refused then and they eventually did change the billing name. My feeling is that they do not care at all about customer satisfaction, or customers that have already been with them for a long time. I just wanted what was broken fixed and I think I got ripped off. Should not have had to pay for them to tell me it was broken. Actually did pay at the time of first service call as I was told I had to and then three weeks later received a bill for the amount I had already paid. Also had to ask for a receipt as the service person was not going to give me one. I even question now if the original panel was actually not fixable. I would definitely not recommend them. The only good thing was that the service people were polite.

Simply put: do not use ADT for your home security. Skipping the fact that they are overpriced and lock you into a contract that applies to all customers (so I won't harp on it here), their customer service is atrocious. After contacting them to transfer service, I received numerous harassing phone calls from the sales office of the local affiliate requesting sensitive personal information. When I spoke with a manager at that office to complain about the calls (why was I even getting sales calls from a company I was already under contract with??), he did not know why sales staff would call existing customers and confirmed that the information they were requesting was not necessary for the account. I was only willing to put up with the company because I was under contract and forced to. Imagine my surprise when I called the company to test the system (as I was advised to do by the technician who installed it) and was told that even though a technician came to my home, activated the panel and I signed a contract, my account was never activated and therefore my system was not monitoring my home. The only silver lining to this is that this means I am not under contract with this awful company and I am now free to take my business elsewhere.
