I have a racoon problem at my house. After reading all the good reviews for this company I called them for an estimate. Got their machine and left a message. No call back. 2 days later I called again. Got the machine and left a message. No call back. Then I went onto their website and filled out my information and requested a quote. Inside that electronic message, I reminded them I already called twice before. No response. I called 2 additional times, left messages and still did not receive any call back. During that time, the racoons destroyed part of my siding and ripped half the singles off my roof. I had no other choice but to find another provider to help. I've read a couple other reviews on here where it was mentioned that they had a hard time getting a hold of ACE, but once they did the work was excellent. I tried to hold out, but after 2 weeks of no returned calls or emails I gave up. Not a company I want to do business with.

I called 4 or 5 different places in regards to a raccoon in my attic...ACE was by far the best about calling me back...called, gave me other numbers to call...shot me a straight price over the phone... Ended up not needing them but was very happy with their response...would recommend them to anyone.

We had a critter of some kind rooting around in our attic space. ACE is a little hard to get a hold, it took two or three calls, but once I had them on the line someone was out within 24 hours to take a look. He was extremely knowledge and good at what he does. Within 30 seconds he spotted a greasy spot on the soffet which indicated entry/exit of a critter. He set traps and checked in a few days later. The traps were tripped but nothing in them, and we hadn't heard the critter for a few days. He decided to set "exit traps" that seal the exits so there's no way in our out except the trap. A few days later there was still nothing in the trap, so we discussed our options. We agreed that we had probably scared off whatever was there and he sealed the entry point for us. I would definitely use them again.

Everything went great. Travis was a pro and was extremely friendly. It couldn't have gone any better! We will always call Ace in the future.
Description of Work: We had a "critter" stuck in our chimney and it was trying to get out but couldn't because we have a wood-burning stove. My wife was terrified because it kept poking out and she thought it was a rat. Well, Travis came the sameday, thank goodness, and got it out. It turned out to be a bird. It just sounded like a rat! ;-). Then he went up on the roof and fixed my caps, etc.

Found a rat in my kitchen that I killed. I called ACE to see how it got into my house and to find out if there were more. The ACE rep searched my house and found the probable source of entry. He found rat hair in my sump pump so assumed it came in thru the opening in the sump pump cover. He found no other evidence of infestation and gave me information on how to cover the sump pump opening and 'rat proof' my house. He also set traps outside and placed steel mesh over a dryer and air vent on the outside of the house. To date I have had no further problems. I would call them again if needed.

It was clear an animal of some sort had fallen down the downspout in the back of the house--it was noisy and at times you could actually see the downspout move as the animal tried to climb or dig its way out. I probably could have opened the downspout up myself, but I decided to call someone with experience since I wasn't sure how the animal would react opened and I was a little concerned about my safety. The timing was perfect since Ace Wildlife was just finishing another around the corner so it took all of 10 minutes from the time I called until they pulled in my drive. They took the lower 2 segments of the downspout apart and we waited a few minutes for the animal to come out. When it didn't, we talked it over and decided to leave it open for a day to give the animal time to exit. Ace came back a couple of days later and put the downspout back together and everything has been quiet since.
Description of Work: Ace Wildlife took apart a downspout so a trapped animal could escape. They could have trapped the animal if I had wanted that and would have removed the animal if it had died in the downspout.

The service provider was a very nice young man who contacted me right away and came out every day to make sure everything was going OK. He called to let me know when he was coming to the house and showed up promptly when he said he would. He was very easy to talk to and made sure all the squirrels were out before he plugged up the holes. i would definitely use Ace Wildlife Service again.

Cliff inspected the attic and the roof before making is recommendations. Over the course of a week, baited cage traps were placed on the roof near the entrance that he had discovered. When a squirrel was caught, he came and removed the animal in the cage to an "undisclosed location" (they are not killed) and re-baited another trap. Multiple traps were baited over a period of time to ensure all unwelcome critters were caught and relocated. I'm very glad to know this service exists, because you just never know! I would definitely hire them again if the need arises.

My tenants called the city of residence to remove a dead skunk. The city animal control person said that they could smell the skunk but that they could not see it and they wouldn't work under the stair without being able to see the skunk. It was really stinky and was smelling up the house badly, so I called Ace Wildlife Service after another Angie's List provider recommended him. The owner originally quoted me $180 to remove the skunk and to spray a neutralizer that would help get rid of the bugs and flies left over from the dead animal. (When I called back, I got a different price - something like $150 plus $20 a head? I can't remember.) I was pretty desperate to get rid of the skunk and the smell! I was given the phone number of the technician that was actually going to come out and was told by the boss that he'd had a car accident earlier in the day. The technician said that he'd finish up where he was and come out and work on my skunk issue when he was done with what he was doing. WELL - after waiting 2 hours for him to show, I finally called the technician back and was told that he had forgotten and was already home. I understand that people forget and asked about him coming the next day. He asked me to text him the address and said that he would be there between 9-9:30am. to remove the skunk. He DID come at the promised time and remove the carcass the next day VERY QUICKLY! That was very good! But because his truck was in shop, he didn't have any spray neutralizer ready to be used on the truck that he was using. So I suggested that he forget that part of the service because he would have needed to go to the store and I figured that the smell would dissipate well enough on its own. All in all, the technician did a good job and I was happy to have the skunk removed. He also offered me the service of closing up the area under the stairway for the cost of $15 a foot but he would have had to go to the store to buy supplies (wood furring strips is what he was suggesting) and I felt that I could do the same job for less cost and with better materials that I already had available to me.
Description of Work: A dead skunk was under the stairs and the city was unable to find and remove it.

I discovered that 3 squirrels had gotten into my breezeway ceiling between my house and garage. I found ACE WILDLIFE SERVICE, INC. on Angie's List. I called them and made an appointment for them to come to my home. The next day, SAM IHLE came out. He is a very nice gentleman who is easy to talk with. He assesed the situation and explained the appropriate action to take. He informed me of what he would be doing and figured the cost involved. He was extremely pleasant, caring and professional in every interaction I had with him. He left cages to catch the animals and came out to check on them daily. In a relatively short time, he informed me he had trapped all three squirrels and removed them from my area and released them back to the wild. This really impressed me in that they were not destroyed--I just didn't want them in my breezeway. When Sam was sure there were no more animals to be caught, he returned and patched the entry holes. I was given a 3 year warranty that there would be no further entry at these locations. His work was meticulous and very professional. I am extremely pleased with the appearence of the four repaired areas. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Sam. I would not hesitate to call him again should I have any similar problems in the future. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him and his company to anyone with a wildlife problem. Again, it was a pleasure having someone as knowledgeable and nice as Sam resolve my wildlife problem.

A techniciain explained the price and procedure on the phone. The plan was to set traps on the roof near the hole the racoons were using to enter the attic and the neighbor, who had a clear view of the trap, would call when one was caught. They were professional and led us to believe that the problem would be easily solved in a few days. They promptly showed up and set the first trap and on the first night one was caught. We call to let them know the trap was successful, they showed up to remove the racoon and reset the trap. After that the neighbor watched the racoons walk around the traps and no more were caught. We called Ace to share this and asked about next steps. Since we didn't get an answer we left a message. Ace returned the call with a message that was garbled so we called them multiple times after that to get the message and determine what next. They never returned another call, but did return to remove the emply trap and left a bill for $214. After that we call another company who successfully trapped the other 3 racoons after 5 days and have resolved the problem. In addition they will handle clear up inside the house and fixing the roof where the entry was made. Not sure why Ace would not return any calls; however, I did notice another review with a similar experience. Looks like if you have only 1 racoon, they can handle the job, but not if there is more than one.

I live in Columbus, Ohio but my mother still lives in Elyria, Ohio. She's starting to get a little bit older and had to spend time in the hospital recently. In order to help my sisters I try to help out around Moms house as much as possible. Mom told us while in the Cleveland Clinic recently that she heard something in her attic, after looking around I found a hole in a soffit at the back of her house. That night I heard something come into the attic near that area and it starting making noise. In early April I contacted the Lorain office (440-742-3491) of ACE Wildlife Services and spoke to (I believe) Mike. I made arrangements with him to meet me at Moms house almost 2 weeks in the future on April 13, 2013 between 1pm-3pm that afternoon. I try to group things together so I don't waste time. I left Columbus at 8:00pm and arrived at Moms place by10:30am that morning. My wife was with me and my sister stopped in to chat that morning. I had people stop in to work on the garage door, mowed the lawn and spoke to a few of her neighbors thru out the day. After 2:00pm I became concerned but found I forgot the ACE phone number and my mom doesn't have the internet. I waited until 5:00pm, than left to go visit my Mother. Things happened - I understand that so I waited a day or two to contact the office at ACE Wildlife Services, I called the main number (216-and left a message to contact me. I still wanted this service and was willing to overlook the issue, until I received no answer to my call. THERE IS NO EXSCUSE for missing an appointment and not returning a customer's phone calls. I can understand being late, but after making an appointment almost 2 weeks in advance most people/places would call to give a guy a little notice, I did come in from out of town. But to not return my phone call the following week is unprofessional and irresponsible. It's very sad when local business people cannot be trusted. I contacted this company with the best of intentions and because of the high rating on Angie's List. This provides that no one can judge any company by it's rating alone. I would have much rather written a glowing note for this company - but was unable to do so.
Description of Work: No services were performed - the company did not show up nor have they returned my phone call.

n, I knew I had a large animal in my attic space since I could hear it at night. Ace came out promptly, assessed the entry path to the house, identified the type of animal and set a trap. Exterior trap first, then an interior assessment. Knew what they were doing. Had a plan on a path forward whether the raccoon was male or female

We had a raccoon on the roof several nights. It was trying to get into the attic through the vents. It pried off one of the vent frames and loosened the one at the other end of the house. We called Ace Wildlife Service and Mike said that the fee was $100 for bringing out the cage and picking it up, and $50 for each animal removed. Mike came out shortly after that and placed the cage on the roof with bait. He repaired the vents and checked roof and gutters for animal damage. After a week there was no raccoon caught. He checked the trap and the door was tripped. So Mike reset the door and a week later no raccoon. We did have a squirrel in the trap which we told Mike to release and take the cage. He checked the roof and gutters again and reported no damage. Mike was very professional and helpful. We would recommend him to others.

It took about a week for them to come out. When they came out they set one trap. I check the trap everyday for two weeks, nothing. Then I start calling them to let them know, I left couple messages. In one of the messages I asked about using my coupn from angies list. After couple of days some one called. Ask me couple of question about the trap, and if I had hear any activity. Then said someone would be out soon. A couple of more weeks went by. One day in the middle of the week someone just showed up unexpected to collect the trap. Asked could they fill the hole. They put a flimsey piece of metel in the hole. I thought they would cover the hole nicer than that. Never got to use my 5% coupon from angies list either

Extremely well! Contacted ACE Wildlife service late Wednesday afternoon and received an overview of their services, an estimate of cost and when someone would be out to the house. Mike reconfirmed the appointment on Thursday and arrived on time. Mike inspected the attic as well as the outside of the house, including the roof. His conclusion was that no larger animal had breached the attic, speculating that the noise was an animal on the roof and/or a field mouse that had managed to get into the attic. We very much appreciated his thoroughness, courtesy and profesionalism. If the need ever arises (hopefully it won't) Ace Wildlife will be our first call.

I called Ace Wildlife last week regarding an odor in my basement that I thought was the smell of a dead animal. I spoke to Mike and arranged an appointment, giving a 2 hour window of arrival. He arrived on time and immediately confirmed that we were dealing with a dead animal, based on the odor. He went to work identifying the source of the odor was outside and thankfully not in the basement. Quickly, he identified the animal was under a cantilever below our deck by using a mirror and confirming with a portable video camera. We discussed the least damaging way to gain access under the deck and cantilever. He cut a small portion of a single deck board using his saws-all; retrieving an opossum. He sprayed generously with a disinfectant and deodorizer. Presented a bill with a 5% Angieslist discount and was leaving in less than 50 minutes. Mike did a great job, at a very fair price, and I highly recommend him.

Unfortunately for me I used another company first to "solve" this problem with an epic failure. Called Ace on recommendation, and am very glad I did. Was having a problem with critters in my attic crawl space coming in through the louvers. So i called Ace, Cuyahoga Falls branch, and they promptly came over and gave an estimate that was half the price of the other companies failed attempt at our problem. Our technician was well informed and well prepared did the job quickly and made time to answer my tenants questions. I feel very relieved knowing this company stands behind the work they do with a warranty. Already recommending them to people, I am very impressed.

We had a deer die in our back yard on a Friday afternoon. Our city would not help (on private property) and I called a number of companies. Ace was the first one to respond and the only one that could help with this situation. The service person was responsive to my situation and scheduled a pick-up that day. When he was delayed from the original time scheduled called me to keep me in the loop on his arrival time. Removal was done quickly and I thought the price was reasonable due to the distance he had to travel plus the size of the deer. I would use Ace again (though hope I don't have too!).

I heard big noise in the attic around 9pm one night at the end of November. They came in the second day after I called. I was told a raccoon had broken in. They put a trap on the roof for several days and the raccoon did not come back. Then they installed a new attic fan cover for me. Overall, they are very friendly and professional. I appreciate their help.
