Paul's Electric LLC

Paul was on time and diagnosed the problem immediately. He had a new hi-intensity bulb in his truck and told me where I could pick them up in the future.

(1) I called Paul when my DIY thermostat installation failed due to mislabeled cables of the previous ancient thermostat. Luckily, he was available and told me he will be at the house around 2pm. He arrived as promised. Getting the thermostat done was critical because entire heating system would not work without the thermostat. I appreciated his timeliness. (2) He was quite methodical and analytic when he was approaching to the thermostat problem. He first checked the transformer of the heating unit and verified that it generates required power output for the the thermostat. Then, he manually sent a turn-on signal to the boiler to verify that boiler receives heat-on signal from the thermostat. Therefore, he was able to isolate the problem to the wiring of the thermostat. (3) He struggled little bit with the correct wiring (the circuit diagram for the thermostat was not available and he had to map the correct wiring with some tests. He did not get frustrated and kept calm. The labeling of 4 wires of the old thermostat was not compatible with the new unit and I could understand that it would not be easy to correctly map the wires. He got it done. (4) He checked multiple times that thermostat correctly sends heat on and off signals to the boiler. (5) He also set the switch for the living room lights (there was no lights in the living room and a previous contractor who fixed changed the ceiling put the wires and the box for the lighting unit but it did not have any switch. He was quite smooth with that job and got it done quite quickly. (6) Quality of both works were quite high and I am completely satisfied with the end result, how it looks and how properly they were done. (7) Paul has a great mix of being professional and personal. (8) I was not totally satisfied with the pricing. His pricing might be quite reasonable when compared to electrical service but I find electricians little pricey in general.

They were prompt. They came right away. I didn?t have to be home. They fixed it. I was actually happy with the service. And I was happy about the promptness because when I looked at it I thought the wire was going to fall or break, which meant we?d have no power to the house at all.

He came with another worker. Turned off the main and completed the work in 4 hours as stated. After the work was done , we have not had another leak. Very good job.

Very professional, timely. Explains all details and cost up front. Works very neatly. Have used in the past and would highly recommend. Will use in the future.

I can't say enough nice things about Paul! HE IS TERRIFIC. We interviewed a few electricians we found on Angie's List and Paul was by far my favorite. He does all of his own work, there are no middle men here. Paul is courteous, polite and patient! We will definitely use Paul in the future. He was on-time, super neat... If every contractor was like Paul, home renovations would be a piece of cake. Thanks Paul!

Paul was prompt, professional, and got the done quickly. His pricing was fair, and knew what to expect up front. I would use him again without hesitation

Paul arrived on schedule and immediately got to work. He started in the breaker box and discovered a couple of rusted and cracked breakers which he suggested changing but they were not the problem. He traced the wiring in our basement and then went up into the attic. Along the way he took apart switches and outlets and inspected everything he could. Eventually he found that a wire in a junction box in our attic had burned up. He cleaned up the wires, replaced the smaller box with a proper size box, and re-did the connections. Then he replaced the bathroom breaker with a GFCI breaker for safety. All told he spent 3 hours tracing and then repairing our problem. We were happy to have electric back in the bathrooms and that he found and repaired what could have been a potential fire hazard. My wife said that he was very competent and informed her on everything he was doing. He also gave my wife some tips and is preparing an estimate of what it would cost to update this circuit.

Paul was absolutely fantastic. He was such a pleasure to work with. We called him to install some gfi(?) three-pronged outlets and new outdoor house lights including floods. We also needed him to fix electrical lighting problems in our basement. He did all that and explained everything to my parents. He found more things that were wrong/could be dangerous but in no way pressured us to fix them--he just educated us. He also suggested a range of solutions where he could. He made sure everything was safe. He came over over the course of 3 or so days and was like a part of the family by the time he left. In the future there is no doubt that Paul would be the first person we would call and only person we'd feel completely comfortable with in our home. I could not recommend his service, professionalism, personality, and price more!

Emergency response on a Sunday evening. Informed me beforehand that Sunday night's would be charged at a premium. Recommended that I wait until Monday because the issue I described sounded like a LIPA issue. Was very fair by warning me beforehand; however, I insisted he come for peace of mind, which was worth paying the premium.

Paul is a pleasure to work with. He responds quickly to phone messages, tries to understand the problem as thoroughly as possible before coming to the house (even asking for pictures of the switch/outlet). He arrives promptly and works efficiently. The prep work allows him to have needed parts with him. He is careful not to damage surfaces in doing the work. I was happy with the results and have since used his company twice with an equally favorable experience.

We found Paul on Angie's List. I found myself thinking I was ready to install a power transfer switch. NOT! After quickly realizing that the job was too big for me to handle I called Paul to come in for the assist. He did it for more than a fair price, did clean & efficient work, and the switch works perfectly. Paul is now the first person I call when I need any electrical work done.

We recently bought a house and needed some work done. Paul was extremely professional. He was always on time, called back promptly or made follow-up calls when he said he would, and made sure we were well-informed about the work being performed. Paul and his assistant were thorough and worked neatly. They completed everything in a timely manner. We look forward to working with Dial An Electrician again.

Called Paul to schedule some outsid electrical work. Told him I know it may be cold, but can do some work now and some in spring. Paul met my husband for estimate. Called me next day to tell me he cannot do work because it's too cold, and my husband insisted on having all work done now (he also didn't even provide an estimate if I decided to do in the spring). I asked my husband if he said this, and he said "no." We both knew it may be too cold to do the work. We hired an electrician from the local Bellmore news. He came and did ALL the work on November 20 with no problem.

Paul completed the outdoor work in one day and came back after the weekend to work inside. Both days my power was off for about 6 hours each day. Paul's work was very professional and neat. He cleaned up all debris and was very willing and cooperative to make a few other adjustments. For example, he had to come back to move a wire outside after the inspection, and while he was here he reattached my dryer hose which had loosened and detached twice after his work necessitated moving the dryer away from the circuit breaker. For that reattachment, which was really not what he usually does, he came the same day and fixed it. He also marked many of the circuit breakers on the new panel with what they controlled. AND, he helped me with the surge protector for my computer that had gone haywire when the power was turned back on two times.. Paul was always on time, and each time I requested additional work he rewrote the estimate to make everything clear. He and his assistant were both friendly and pleasant to have working here. I first called Paul because of the rave reviews he received in all the Angie's List reviews, expecting the best, and I got it.

Paul checked the power voltage at each location of my doorbell. He found that the transformer and the doorbell unit itself were getting the proper amount of power. My unit had two 9 Volt batteries as well, and he found they were both dead. Paul changed out the batteries and the doorbell now functions fine. Secondly, Paul went to the power outlet where my alarm system is plugged in. He checked all the connections on the outlet and found one of the screws had been left lose. He tightened that screw and reconnected the alarm power unit. Everything is functioning perfectly.

They were extremely professional, courteous, and patient. They did a masterful job installing everything and explained everything they were doing. After the work was done they spent another hour showing us how to connect everything, engage the generator and flip the necessary switches. They were very patient, making sure we understood exactly what to do. They were neat, considerate of our property and extremely competent. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. I enthusiastically recommend Dial an Electrician to anyone needing an electrician.

Honestly? This was the best service experience I have had in my 25 years of being a homeowner. From the minute my initial call was made until the job was completed, Paul maintained the utmost professionalism. He was extremely knowledgeable and very honest. He will tell you if he thinks that work is not necessary! Paul and his worker were professional, polite, efficient and extremely patient. He takes the time to explain everything that he is about to work on and why he is doing it! I have already hiired him for another smaller job next week.

Response to my call was immediate and very courteous. They were prompt. It was a thorough inspection of my electrical service. They repaired a potentially hazardous situation with the meter pole and box on exterior of house. I asked for an estimate to upgrade electrical service. Estimate seemed thorough and I think reasonable. Upgrade will be done over 2 days late next week. I was very happy with their courtesy and professionalism.

.In the spring I had a tree company cut down three trees in the back yard. The very first cut they made sent a large branch onto the power line leading to the house, knocking down the line and the mast it was encased in. "Don't worry" they said, "We'll fix it." Well, they got it back up, mast and all, but it really wasn't secure...after all, they were tree people, not electricians and didn't have the proper equipment to do the repair. Weeks later it fell off the house with great fanfare! Noise, sparks...it was frightening!!! Because of Angie's List I had used Dial an Electrician before and was very happy with his work. I called him for this repair job and as before he was prompt, professional, and thorough,. He did a terrific job repairing the damage despite the fact that it was a blistering hot day! I feel most secure that it will take a major disaster for that line to come down again. My experience was great. Paul was able to call me back within a couple hours of my initial call and he came to my house the same day! The work I needed was pretty minor and he did it pretty quickly. He was professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I felt like he went beyond just what I asked of him because he was trying to be helpful.
