The reason I felt compelled to leave this review nearly 5 years after the new roof was installed was their follow-up service. About 2 years after the roof was installed, we noticed a water spot on the ceiling of our 2nd floor. We called the company, and they sent someone out to fix it immediately. After a very rainy spring, I noticed the leak was back. I called them, and they had someone out here the very same day to look at it. The representative went up on the roof and looked at it, in the rain, explained they had been having some "failure rates" with a part that went around the vent, and scheduled an appointment to have the piece replaced. While it is always preferable to have no issues with an installation like this, the responsiveness of a company when issues do arise is what sets apart a company from their competitors. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Omar Gomez, Contract Roofing & Siding, met our Grange Insurance agent on 9/21, it was determined we had hail damage, Omar provided me with an estimate and samples of shingles. A few days later Omar came back out to pick up his deposit and to schedule work. His firm had recently replaced 3 other roofs on our street (all owners were very pleased with the work performed). Work started on Oct 1st and due to rain they skipped a day and finished the job on Oct 3rd. This team was very efficient. They had half the roof torn off and re-shingled on the first day, so when it rained, we didn't have any leaks. Clean up was immaculate. They walked around with a metal detector and got 99% of the trash. I cut the grass the next day and found only a handful of hidden plastic washers and maybe 3 nails from the job. My only negative comment is from the small rust spots left on the driveway due to the dumpster being left overnight two days in the rain. I think they will come out with a power washing. Omar came back two days later to inspect the work with us and to pick up the final payment. He reitterated that if we find any more nails he will have his men come back and re-sweep the grounds. We selected this roofer after watching his team install three other roofs on our street. His team normally got the job done in 2 days, they used quality products. and they left the job site very clean.

The actual putting on of the roof was pretty amazing. They were pretty helpful in terms of the financing and the pricing was pretty good. The organization left a lot to be desired. Yes, I would actually use them again in the future if I needed to.

Worst experience with any company ever in my life. Benita claimed to be the owner and was the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken with in my life. I would rather live in a house without a roof than ever deal with them again.
Description of Work: This company installed our roof about 2 years ago. We noticed there was leaking, and since we were still under contract, we called them. They told us that most likely they would need to replace the flashing. Instead of doing this the first time, they sent guys out on 3 separate occasions to do quick fixes. During the 3rd attempt, I walked into the garage to find one of the men helping himself to our ladder without even asking first. After the 3rd attempt, we literally had water running through our walls from the roof, through our first floor and into the basement. The walls were mushy to the touch and we had to put buckets in the basement to catch it. Since it took 3 months and 3 failed attempts (including a period of 6 weeks with 0 returned phone calls), we chose not to wait any longer and hired a different company. They fixed the flashing and we have not had any issues since (even after several big rains). After the new company did a fanstastic job, I called Contract Roofing to try to get them to pay the bill, since they admitted this was the repair that should have been done initially. I spoke with Benita Garza, who immediately started yelling at me. I told her I suspected the last men she sent were unlicensed because professionals would not help themselves to the owners' belongings without permission, and ideally, professionals bring their own equipment. She accused me of being prejudice and admitted that one of the previous men she sent was not licensed, but accused me of not suspecting him because he was "white." I did not suspect him because he did not use my belongings. She said she asked him if he used our ladder without permission, and he denied it. I of source challenged this with, why would he admit it? and have you ever heard of "the customer is always right"? She yelled and said, "NO, my sales guys are ALWAYS right!" I asked her to spell her last name, which is when for no apparent reason at all she added, "and I'm filthy rich too." This just made me laugh. Since clearly I was not making progress and will never convince them to pay the bill, I just thought it was my duty as a citizen to warn others to NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

It is true that this customer had a leak and we attempted to fix it on three seperate occasions. However, after the the third attempt we sent out a trouble shooter. He suspected the leak was not due to a roofing issue, but a siding issue. Since the attic access is inside the garage, he asked the customer if he could use their short ladder to spot the leak from inside the attic, which she agreed. The issue turned out to be a siding issue.., it was fixed, and even though it was not due to the roof , she was not charged for that repair. The roof was a few years old with no issues, but recent wind storms had loosened the siding panels and the siding flashing. She later called and said the leak was fixed, but now she had a leak on the opposide side of the garage. By this time the roof had been inspected several times with no roofing issues found. We told her we would send out a siding crew in a few days, but she was incoherent and hung up. This homeowner is not the original owner we dealt with,(house was sold) and has been very unreasonable, demanding and insulting.... We wish her a happy life.

I had contacted several of the big companies but they were all behind due to the amount of damage. A neighbor had used Contract Roofing and I checked the BBB and they had a good rating, so I decided to try them even though I had never heard of them. The work went well and their bid was under the insurance estimate. The sales staff was friendly and took their time explaining the work they would do. (Just be prepared for a long sales pitch!) I was having trouble deciding on a color for the shingles and they actually drove me around the neighborhood showing me houses that had roofs similar to the colors I was choosing from! They did a nice job with the roof and so far I am happy with it and happy with the color they recommended since it was something different than the conventional grey roof. The only negative I have is that I asked them twice for an estimate for replacing the gutters and they never showed up. I finally had somebody else do the gutters. I think part of the problem is that they were just overwhelmed with work due to the storm damage.

It is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. My experience with them was a nightmare from beginning to end. I spent over $8000 on the job. They didn?t follow the contract. They put on the wrong vent. I pointed it out to them that they weren?t using the right contract. My roof started leaking and I ended up having lot of other issues. They didn?t put flashing around skylight. So, there was water in my patio room. They flooded my house. They didn?t clean up. My yard was a mess with all the debris from the shingle wrapping. When I told him to clean up, he told me that it didn?t matter because it was on the outside of the house. There was nobody on site who spoke English. They were Hispanic. One man, who could speak English, left his phone number, but there wasn?t a message when I called his phone. All I got was music. I thought it was malfunctioning. I told them before they started that they should have a building permit. Also I hadn?t given the final selection of color for my roof. So, on a weekend, they showed up with all the material, even before I had selected the color. They didn?t have a building permit. They started the job before they were even supposed to. On Monday, nobody told me that they would be coming out. I saw them tearing off my roof without a building permit. They damaged my patterned concrete. It was a total nightmare. I have never dealt with people like them. The owner was really mean and rude. I will never use this company again in the future.

Owner contacted us(CRS) by a referal, a satisfied customer. In effect they wanted a free roof. We found enough damage to warrant an insurance claim and guided them through the insurance process. The insurance did not pay for new skylights, because although they were old and worn, they were not storm damaged. The customer did not want to spend any money , not for the sky-lights and not even for the insurance deductible. CRS agreed to pay the deductible to help them out. (1) First the claim about the wrong shingle color, it is ludricous to claim that the Contractor will pick the color for the shingle and force it on a customer! They picked the color, and once it was installed and the work finished and it was time to pay was when the complaints started. (2) The customer complained about leaks during a thunderstorm, not expecting us to show up immediately during the thunderstorm.. Not one single drop of water ever entered the house. They pointed out old stains that were old and dry, but we proved to them those were pr-existing and not covered. The house just needed routine maintenance, which they did not supply. (3)Permits were pulled and the roof was inspected by the city inspector and all repairs were approved,.. and that is a matter of public record.(4)Our jobsites are always maintained clean, but the customer complained about trash that was not even related to our work. The job on;y took 2 days and extra efforts to leave the jobsite spotless were made. (6)The most hurtful allegations are about having trouble communicating. I am the owner, I am an American and Hispanic and a war veteran, and I was asked more than once where I was from. My foreman is American / Hispanic. All my workers speak english. These comments about a lack of communication were just uncalled for. Either myself or my foreman always did the communicating with the owners. (5) Finally they complained about "scracthes" on the stamped concrete sidewalk and wanted money for a new sidewalk and patio. The scratch was a 6 inch stress crack in the finish, due to lack of maintenance. An engineer was hired to asses to origin of the damage and it was concluded that the crack was not a scratch, but flaking of the topcoat finish...again due to lack of maintenance. Even after seeing the engineers report, they demanded $5,000.00 for the 6 inch topcoat flake. CRS took the option of hiring a proffesional concrete company to come fix the flake so we could get paid, at a cost of $250.00. After that, the customer had run out of complaints and were forced to pay the balance. After 6 months of coddling them, we finally had to stand firm and demand payment. The customer felt offended by the demand, but they paid..they had no choice, they had run out of excuses. Bottom line, this customer just did not want to pay for anything and in effect wanted to profit on an insurance claim!! ! It took 6 months to finally get paid on a 2 day job!

A very positive experience.
Description of Work: I sustained roof damage from recent storms. Their sales agent worked very closely with my insurance company to help get my roof replaced. I was kept informed at all times of the entire process. The workers came promptly when promised and finished the job in one day. Clean up was a dream! I have had my roof replaced at another home that I owned and I found nails and debris in the yard all summer long. That was not the case with this company.

They came out, gave an estimate, we called insurance company, and waited for paperwork. Insurance was agreeable with their estimate, and roof was replaced. Was found they needed more materials than was budgeted for, Contract Roofing went back to our insurance company, they signed off on additional charges. Did a very nice job, very clean and professional. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

IN AUGUST 2002 OUR HOME INSURANCE COMPANY JUDGED THAT UOR ROOF HAD BEEN DAMAGED BY HAILAND INDIRECTLY HELPED US TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE THE ROOF REPLACED BY CONTRACT ROOFING AND SIDING. WITHIN TWO WEEKS A CREW APPEARED TO DO THE JOB. RE- ROOFED TWO STORY HOME AND THREE CAR GARAGE AND REPLACED IT, TOGETHER WITH THE NECESSARY ICE AND WATER SHIELDS AND FLASHING, WITHIN 6 1/2 HOURS. THERE WERE 8 OR 9 MEN WHO WORKED TOGETHER AS A WELL PRACTICED, HIGHLY EFFICIENT ROOFING TEAM. THEY ALSO DID A GOOD JOB OF CLEANING UP.
