It was difficult to find a plumber working on a Friday before the 4th of July holiday. Many were closed, but Mr. Rooter was available. Justin came in the time frame agreed upon and was professional and friendly. He had to cable out the drain twice and after that tested both sides of the sink several times to make sure it was draining properly. He cleaned up everything and even offered to put things back under the sink. Thank you Mr. Rooter for being available today!

I think the repairman's name was Charles. He took a look at my garbage disposal and tried to unclog it before snaking it because that would cost less. It didn't work so he snaked the drain and was able to unclog it. I had him replace the trap which was collecting lots of debris and restricting water flow. He also pointed out how the pipe didn't have the support and angle you would prefer so he added a pipe support. We talked about replacing the air admittance valve and I opted to find a replacement myself because he didn't have one with him and I couldn't wait for him to return later in the day. He was professional, informative, and cleaned up the area well. My cost reflected a $53 Angie's List coupon.

It seemed like David was engaged and curious as well as professional. He didn't jump to conclusions and he took the time to make an informed diagnosis. Mr. Rooter's plumbing manager Mark stopped by too. I assume he was in the neighborhood and wanted to help David, if he needed it. In the end, I paid about $75 after Angie's List $53 off coupon. The ice maker is on and moved away from the cabinets. The plan is for me to see where water forms and then we'll know next steps. Most likely, the ice maker itself is leaking and I will have to have the appliance fixed or replaced.
Description of Work: David came during the window he was expected to. He tried to figure out what was leaking: an ice maker, it's water lines, or a dishwasher. David spent about 40 minutes trying to figure out the problem. We had a leak and some small damage to our cabinets due to the leak. When we turned off the water to the ice maker and turned off the ice maker several days ago, the leak dried up. I appreciate the fact the David took the time to diagnose the issue including running water through the ice maker, waiting for 20 minutes to see if any drips started, turning on dishwasher to see if leak was associated with that appliance. Bottom line: we aren't sure but it seems like the ice maker might be broken.

First appt - not good - servicer quoted huge cost and scary possibilities of what was wrong - digging up yard to new sewer, etc.. Then we called and complained to supervisor Alex who appoligized and set up appt with him. He reevaluated problem and we paid approx $250 for 1st cleanup and drain was now working. Then Alex called back and said that he would use power jet to thoroughly clean drain and sewer line from the additional tree roots for free because he felt bad about our first experience. We said ok and he came out and did $540 of work and gave us a 1 year warranty!! Alex was awesome and I would definitely use the company again!

They were able to get someone here within an hour of my call. Alex was the technician. He was very helpful and even offered to put all the items back that I had pulled out from under my sink. Good quick service, 30 day guarantee and a discount for using Angie's List. I will call them again if I ever have an issue.

Very well, the repair man arrived between the time I was given. He explained to me the price and what needed to be done. He was courteous, professional and polite. He also quoted a price of how much it would cost me if I needed the spicket added to the front of the house. He also cleaned up after himself and verified everything was working as expected.

I noticed sewage was starting to back up in my basement, and having had this happen years ago, I knew I needed to tend to it immediately. Truth be told, I contacted Mr. Rooter accidentally -- thinking I had used their service before. (I had actually used a service with a similar name.) I called in the morning when I was at work, and I was told they would be at my property shortly. I couldn't leave work, but I told them everything was accessible from the yard. They arrived quickly, got camera images, and called me. I was told the roots were really bad. I believe it because I've had issues in the past, and more years had gone by than I realized. I agreed to the $1,000 for the camera, auger/cable, and hydro-flush. This seemed pricy, but I needed to get it done. They called and asked if, while they were there, I wanted my outside hose faucet updated. I have a very old house, so I agreed. That was a little over $100. In the meantime, I was called and informed that a clean-out I had installed 6+ years ago was done with improper materials and without a permit or license. The poor installation could result in some seriously bad blockage. I was also informed of a hairline crack in my sewer pipe - something to be addressed in the future. So, what I had originally thought was a routine clean out was getting worse by the minute. Due to the potential severity of the situation, I made arrangements to meet with Alex the next day to see the issues for myself. In this time, I had ample opportunity to do some research, and I began to think I was taken advantage of because of my situation. When I met with Alex, I addressed this concern. I was very impressed with his coolheadedness and willingness to go over the costs. He showed me the price sheet. While he was there, he put the camera in the pipe twice - once so I could see it and again to record it on a flash drive for my records. He did not charge me, and he even called the City Sewer and Water Division to have them confirm the issues with my current clean out. He was extremely helpful... really going above and beyond. I have yet to schedule the work yet; there is a lot of unfinished business with the previous company (sadly also an Angie's List member). I want to give them the opportunity to make it right. Although the prices were, perhaps, higher than some, I appreciated the transparency and professionalism and will feel good about giving them my future business.

I found Mr. Rooter last year through one of Angie's List's Big Deals. This was issue came up suddenly and because I was so pleased with their service last year, I called them again. The technician was punctual and very professional. He had to track down the part due to the age of the tub. It had to be ordered but he was also able to fix the problem temporarily so that we could use the shower until he came back. He was able to find the part and came back the next day to install it. The initial estimate for the job was $425.00 but when i mentioned that I was an Angie's List client, the tech reduced the cost to $325.00. He did good work and I would highly recommend Mr. Rooter to my friends and family.

Called in Mr. Rooters today and they gave me same day appointment. They came in looked at the issue and provided an estimate on spot. Tech explained the issues and provided some suggestion. We agreed on the quote and was able to finish the work and fix the issues. Happy to get them on the same day and get it done. Thanks. Will definitely use again. Price is on the higher side and but based on the quick response I am ok to go with it.

Had new counters and sink installed. Needed someone to connect my new sink to my disposal as well as the new faucet. The work was done fine but the price was outrageous. Charged me 427 bucks for about 45 minutes of work. When I said something to the technician about the price he stated they charge by the job and not the hour that way they don't have to rush the job to make customer happy. He then stated that plumbers usually screw you over with costs and that's why you should learn how to do it yourself. 427 bucks is a lot of cash for a very basic service and they know that but they still charge it.

How'd it go ? My question to that is which time the original repair or the complete redo a few days later. The first attempt was a complete failure and second repair did solve the major problem but created a few new issues. We want all the details. I contacted the company because the kitchen drained backed up into the basement, not bad, but a quick response is always needed in that case. They were at my home in less than two hours the first time. The representative brought a sewer snake and tried clean out the drain. It was not success. He said, he believed we had a crack in sewer line under the house and it would cost over $8,000 to dig up the sewer and replace it. I said, that it would be hard to come up with that amount on short notice. He then stated he could bypass the drain by running pipe from the kitchen drain into the main stack. I ask how much would that cost and he said a little over $2500.00. I said I will get some other estimates and let you know. He then said, we could take 30% off which would bring it down to $1800.00. I agreed to the last amount. It took about eight hours. When finished he say someone will be calling from his office to do final inspection and to drop out the City Of Columbus inspection form that needed to be completed by the inspector. A few days went past and no phone call. So I called them, and manager came out and look over the job. Many things were wrong, the pipe that they installed ran up hill, clean outs were not properly install and the drain that was removed was tapped off incorrectly. I know this to be a fact because they manager stated this to me in person. So he said he would bring in a supervisor repair the problems. Which he did. They ended up ripping out of the pipe and redoing it from scratch. The work was redone, plus the supervisor replaced some other drain pipes leading to the sewer stack free of charge. They finished the work and left. I have a storage closet in my basement and went to open it an could not. The new pipe was installed across the top of the door preventing it from opening. I had to cut down the door so it would open. Shortly after the job was completed, we began to have problem with the bathroom sinks and tub draining very slowly. So checked I checked the slop of the small drains that they installed for free and they to were running up hill. We replace the small drains pipes and all seems to be working so far.

My $525 sump pump ( retail price $140-160) cost appeared ok. Installation costs very high. Again feel I was again vunerable. This pump completely failed within 9 months.
Description of Work: Changed pressure relief valve on water tank. Part is inexpensive ,ie <$20 wholesale. I was charged $250 for installation of this part, charge is >than $100 above average cost. Visit one-- was from a technician to inspect plumbing--to see if there were any problems. I paid $324 for this whole plumbing inspection The technician indicated ( for a newer addition on the house)-- that the toilet in the bathroom had no vent. He offered to come back the next week and install the vent which he said was the source of serious plumbing problems. He said he had an opening the next week and he could come back and install it-- the cost would be about $7,000. I became somewhat suspicious and called the builder. The builder said of course there was a vent installed. I called back the staff at Mr. Rooter (who are very nice)-- they sent two people out who established that there was a vent installed. They were very concerned and responded in a timely manner. So my experience indicates that this is a good company, nice caring people running it-- but I must have had bad luck with the first technician. That is why I rated the experience B. For the second experience, this was definitely an A company. I'd just caution people to beware any time (and particularly around the holidays)-- if a technician diagnoses big, expensive problems that you have never expected-- and then the technician wants to come back soon and fix your problem for a hefty-cost, that you get a second or third opinion. Again-- I think this is an excellent company, with great caring people who want to make things right.

Called Mr. Rooter for a second opinion after one company simply gave up, and another provided an estimate for several thousand dollars of main line repair work. Alex H. came out in the designated window and got right to work. I never actually got to meet him in person, just had quite a few phone conversations with him to go over the situation and he was great! I explained to him that I wanted an estimate on a main line repair as a previous plumbing company had come out and after sending a camera down the pipe, said a lot of work was needed. Alex was not satisfied with this explanation and said he wanted to camera himself, after he saw the pipe he said it looked to be in fine condition and got to work. He cleared it out using a few different techniques and everything has been running smoothly since then. Mr. Rooter will be my first call for any future plumbing issues and I will be requesting Alex, thank you!

This review is ONLY about replacement of an underground water line. I have no experience with Mr. Rooter doing plumbing repairs inside a house. I am very sorry to say this was an entirely unhappy and highly frustrating experience that I would not wish on other people. The repair estimate was initially around $3400. Multiple appointments were missed entirely with the result that everyone's schedules were disrupted and our water was off for 8 days. The crew finally arrived several hours later than promised for the third re-scheduled appointment and proceeded to tell me a lengthy list of reasons why this repair was not possible. There was a tree nearby that might fall and injure or kill someone if excavation was done. The sidewalk would have to be removed. Copper pipe would have to be ordered with a long delay and an additional cost of $600. An additional contractor would need to be called to do directional drilling from the street at an additional cost to exceed $1600. OSHA might need to be contacted to declare the site unsafe. The street would need to be closed for an extended time period. It was impossible to put plastic sheathing under the front porch. The contract has been written poorly and would have to be re-written and approved by the head manager. Pulling the old steel pipe through the ground using a wire could not be done. And on and on and on. The fact that this work was not done was not my decision -- it was the company's decision that it was impossible for them to complete this job and it only took them a week to realize it. So I called a different contractor who appeared 30 minutes later and completed this impossible job in about 2 hours at a cost around half the lowest possible estimate from Mr. Rooter. The key tool that this contractor used was an air-powered device that burrows underground making a hole that sheathing fits through. No falling trees, no fatalities, no OSHA visit, no sidewalk replacement. For anyone replacing an underground water line I will say that it is ESSENTIAL that the contractor have this underground burrowing tool and the Mr. Rooter does not have this essential tool, so find a contractor who does.
Description of Work: Estimated a contract to replace broken underground water line from street to house. Scheduled appointments. Appeared late and refused to complete the job.

I called Mr. Rooter on a Tuesday night hoping to tie up a few items on my to-do list and was hoping they would be able to be scheduled by the end of the week. To my surprise, they had openings the next day. I opted for the 10-12 time-slot, fully figuring that I would be waiting until 11:55 to receive a phone call that the provider was on their way. What happened was complete opposite and i was absolutely THRILLED when a tech and his trainee arrived at 1000 to perform the services requested. They were in and out in 30 minutes and the Angie's List discount of $53 saved almost 25% off the cost of the service. I will certainly look to Mr. Rooter again for any plumbing issues that arise at my home. Well done and KUDOS to Mr. Rooter for being punctual and timely! Definitely look them up!

My window for my appt was 2-4pm. I called at 3:55 to see if I should still expect someone and was assured I was next, shouldn't be long. At 4:15 they called to say he was on his way. Great I thought! He finally arrived at 5:15. He was able to fix the problem which was great but it seemed quite expensive for what it was. He just had to clean and re-seal one connection behind my meter. I said go for it because I had waited so long for them to come and I have 4 dogs I didn't want to mess with having another estimate. He left around 6:15. There was lots of waiting but it's done and it's dry.
