The electrician Tim who came out was great. Did a thorough job, done quickly and efficiently. Scheduling was the problem. I had an appointment for 9-11 on a Thursday. No one showed and the office kept calling saying they were running behind, but someone would be there that day. Eventually they called and said no one would be there, and they asked if they could reschedule. My wife asked for the first appointment on Sunday and they said that would be 0800. We said OK, figuring the first appointment would get us done early and we would still have the rest of the day. When no one showed up by 0830, I called and they said we had scheduled for 9-11 and someone would be there. At 1030 they called and said someone was on their way. At 1230 I called and they said we were next in line for an electrician, which was amazing considering we thought we were the first appointment of the day. Eventually we did get the work done and they gave us a $75 discount on top of the $50 coupon we had. Total bill came to $150 to replace two outlets. As I said, the electrician was great. Tying us up at home for two days was not acceptable. Scheduling leaves a lot to be desired. This seems to be a recurrent problem as I have read similar reviews with this issue.

I just had Mr. Electric over here to do two very easy jobs. They came promptly, they did the job. I have no complaints with them either. They had to put in a new GAF in an outdoor socket for me. Then, I had an old alarm system that had been wired with the fire system and all of that stuff. The alarm system had a short in it. The fire alarms were still disconnected to that, and they had to disconnect it from the electricity. The electricity was dead. They replaced two smoke alarms for me.

Unreliable. Untrustworthy. If you value your time, do not call Mr. Electric. I had used them before and thought it went well. I had even given them a favorable review on Angie's List, even though they had arrived 2 hours after my scheduled appointment slot. This time they stood me up. I wish I had read the latest reviews on Angie's before I called them, as they seem to have developed a chronic problem with lateness and standing up their customers. I had the 2-4 slot scheduled. I took time off from my job to give them my business. Someone called me at 2:45 to let me know the technician was running late. I got another call at 4, telling me the same thing but that I was the next in line. I then called them at 5:30 asking when the technician would arrive. The guy I spoke to didn't even ask my name or even check his computer. He rattled off his rehearsed script that the technician was running late and they would send him as soon as they could. I got another call at 6:10 telling me that the technician was running late but that I was the next in line. I received the last call from them at 8:30 , which went to voicemail. 8:30! Four and a half hours after my scheduled appointment time. Kim told me she was "so sorry" but that I would need to call them back to "reschedule at a time that was convenient" to me. No, Kim, I will not be calling you back. You know what time was convenient for me? Thursday between 2 and 4. Where were you? And please, Mr. Electric, do not copy and paste the canned response that you posted on other negative reviews. We both know that you will not be contacting me. Thanks for wasting my time.

They come and charge you a flat price for troubleshooting, and if it is a big problem it's just the troubleshooting fee.

I really dislike their price. It was very expensive, but they were very prompt and available, that's why I decided to go with them.

The electrician was at my house for about 10 minutes total. Checked my outlets and told me they were fine. He charged about $150 for that (though I was told when I scheduled that estimates are free and nothing would be done without prior discussion of cost). That $150 was after a $50 coupon. Though I wouldn't expect to pay nothing, this seemed excessive and misleading. Wouldn't use them again.

All you had to do was not lie and tell me early on that you couldn't make it.
Description of Work: I had an appt scheduled 2-4p on a Friday. They called me every 45 minutes to tell me they were running late but they would be here. They finally called at 7:20 PM and said they're not going to make it and they wanted to reschedule. Are you crazy???

It was amazing. I called early in the morning, they said someone would be at my house within 45 minutes. I went to move my car out of the driveway, and they pulled out right as I moved my car! It didn't even take 15 minutes. They were extremely professional, the quality of the work was great and the price was extremely reasonable. I would recommend everyone to use Mr. Electric, I know I will in the future.

I called Mr. electric to install a ceiling fan in an upstairs bedroom. They came out the same day and were on time. The tech was very friendly and professional. They wanted $650 to install the ceiling fan that I had already purchased! I got two other quotes from electricians and both of those quotes were $250. That's a no brainer! Make sure you get a few quotes for your electrical work!! Mr electric is severely over priced!!!

The representative showed up within the hour of my requesting a quote. He had a very cold attitude and immediately went to keying numbers into his Ipad. His quote was $524.00 dollars for about an hour of work. When I responded that it was way too much for no more that 90 minutes of labor, he reduced the price to install to $324.00. Needless to say, I did not hire this company and can not recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Requested a quote to have three (3) new coach installed to replace the existing ones. I had previously purchase the new ones from a home improvement store.

I called and requested an electrician to rebalance a ceiling fan. An electrician came at the appointment time. He was very pleasant and personable. He did an estimate of $160 which I found to be extremely high for the job in question unless he intended to completely dismantle the fan. After I said go ahead because I have no other choice, he did dismantle the fan; not once, but 2 or more times. During all these dismantlings he discovered a missing part which contributes directly to preventing light fixture wobble. (I called and ordered the part which arrived and was installed by him on a different day.) He put the fan back together and then left to purchase a blade balancing kit. He returned promptly and then attempted to balance the blades. However, the light fixture was wobbling quite a bit so he dismantled the fan again, checked everything and put it back together again. He adjusted the speed of the fan to LOW which reduced the light fixture wobble considerably. I paid him and requested a written invoice. He said he would email one so I gave him my email address. All I received via email was a customer satisfaction survey --- no invoice. I did complete the survey and emailed it back. I sent an email directly from their website requesting a written invoice but have not yet received a reply. Several hours later when I turned the wall switch on which activates the fan and light fixture, neither would function. So, I called Mr. Electric 800 number and requested that the same electrician come back. While the receptionist was trying to reach the electrician, the fan and light came on. Scared me!!! This could have been an electrical short which might have caused a fire. Well, the receptionist came back on the line and informed me the electrician REFUSED to come back until the next day at Noon. She also said all I needed to do was keep the wall switch turned off and there would be no fire hazard. Very unsettling. Needless to say, the electrician returned the next day at 12:30 p.m. as promised. He removed the upper housing of the ceiling fan, disconnected all the electrical wirings, assured me there was no short and reconnected them. The fan operates on LOW speed only (to avoid light fixture wobble). Both the fan and the lights operate from only one wall switch. I again requested a written invoice from him and he assured me he emailed it but would do so again. I again received a customer satisfaction survey but no invoice. In the process of reconnecting the electrical wirings, a wall switch which previously controlled just the light fixture was left out of the circuit and no longer functions. This makes it very difficult to operate the lights since the fan is located directly over my bed and I am unable to reach the pull chain without a ladder. This has been the most disappointing service I have ever experienced. The electrician is a very nice personable young man. However, I think he was sent on this call to perform work he was not very familiar with. I would very much like the company to restore the ceiling fan and light fixture to its original operating condition --- without light wobble (even though the part was missing all these years it did not wobble no matter the speed of the fan) and the wall switches operating correctly --- one for the fan operation and one for the light operation, without charges to me. After all, it was operating very well, except for unbalanced fan blades, when the electrician took it apart. I would also like a written invoice covering the $160 which I paid for all this. Electrician said fan now needs to be replaced. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General regarding this ordeal. Mr. Electric representative telephoned me and promised to refund the $160 I paid plus write me a check for ($260) the cost of a replacement fan and the installation charges quoted by a different company. I have received the refund to my credit card of $160 but have yet to receive the promised check.

THEY DID NOT SHOW UP - TWICE. No calls either. THOROUGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND SCANT REGARD FOR YOUR TIME
Description of Work: They missed their appointment 3-5 PM yesterday. I took time off work ; they missed ; did not call. When I called them they said they could possibly do 7 PM - their technicians were too backed up. Rescheduled it for 10 AM today despite being very unhappy at their lack of professionalism. It is 10.15 AM - 15 minutes past the appointment ; neither did I get a call nor have they shown up . THOROUGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND SCANT REGARD FOR YOUR TIME

I was able to fairly effortlessly get a free estimate scheduled with this company; there was lots of flexibility and promptness with getting an ideal time set up. The representative (Chad) from Mr. Electric was very friendly, informative, and open to extended questioning. While I could not receive an estimate on the spot due to the complexity of the project (he had to run it past his manager), I received one shortly thereafter. I will not arranging for Mr. Electric to complete this work due to its estimates being higher than others I received, but given that the estimate was free, easy to schedule, informative, and largely hassle-free, I have no complaints and would reach out to them again in the future.
Description of Work: I have been collecting estimates to do electrical work involving either partial and/or complete turnover of knob and tube wiring. I sought Mr. Electric to perform one of these estimates.

Based on the amount of work completed the job took 2 days. Electrician was professional and on time each day. He cleaned up any of the mess in each room. He was able to install the can lights and ceiling fan box without damage to the ceiling.
Description of Work: Installed 240v line/outlet in garage for plug-in hybrid car, 4 can lights in living room and ceiling fan for office. This was for new lines, lights, switches and outlet. The work was not replacing any existing lights or outlets.

The electrician (Nate S) was great! He was very friendly, super professional, kept our areas clean where he worked and since he had to do the job on 2 dates was very accommodating to our schedule.
Description of Work: We had several things done: new dining room table light fixture installed in a new location and old location was terminated; had a weird wiring issue where if we turned off the fan switch to a ceiling fan it also turned off the TV in that room, we had him fix that (took some brainstorming), installed new outdoor light in a new location with an indoor switch and also a new outlet below it.

Not good, I waited for hours from 10 am to 2 pm for an electrician who never showed, my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday morning first thing between 9-11 am, finally at 1 pm i called to find out where the electrician was, and was told after a number of phone calls that the tech was having vehicle problems, crap...i wasted hours of my Saturday then hours again on Sunday and on one wants to show up. Please do not believe the hype on TV from Megan McKay, I did, and my whole weekend was ruined, wasted, my time is valuable Megan.
Description of Work: a simple light installed in the dining room. small fixture probably a half hour job at best.
