Mr. Electric of Columbus

Mr. Electric(Bryan)was great. He was able to come out the same day. He arrived promptly and presented a quick estimate for cost/time based on the problems. He was able to accomplish the work within the stated time frame. He also provide a free home safety check-up and offered advice regarding other potential electrical and lighting projects for the future.

We received a quote quickly and the tech was very professional. We were told up to a week to get the unit in and then a few days to install. It ended up taking 6 weeks. The wait was not the problem, the problem was nobody would ever call us to let us know what was going on. I had to always call. The person I talked to on the phone each time was extremely nice and she would give me updates. I guess the problem was the third party they ordered the unit from, which they can't control, but at least call me and give me updates! Finally the unit came in and was scheduled to be at our house at 8AM on a Friday. After adjusting my schedule to be there, two hours went by and still nobody and NOBODY CALLED to tell me they were running late. Again the person I talked with on the phone when I CALLED, was very nice and gave me updates. They finally arrived and they started out by three individuals walking through our house with muddy boots on. Unbelievable. I had to tell them to put their "booties" on that they had with them already. Nothing worse than having to micro manage professionals. I will say the techs were extremely nice and gave me updates throughout the day as they worked. They ran into a few bumps but they were able to work through them. They cleaned everything up nicely and we are very happy now. We paid for the whole job up front in December so we could use it for our 08 taxes. If we were not looking to write off part of the expense, we would have canceled the job and gone with another company.

I was very impressed. They answered the phone immediately and tried to get someone here the same day. They did make it the next day. The worker told me how much it would cost and we agreed on the price. He did the work at that time. He did the job correctly and I would recommend them.

I was very pleased with Mr. Electric's responsiveness. I called on the the 12th of Dec and Bryan Hansen came on the 15th for an estimate. I wanted to find out how much it would cost to install circuits for a portable generator. He was very informative and answered all my questions. We are still deciding if we will do it or not.

My experience with them was excellent. The quality of the work and the communication made it a good experience. The price was not cheap and they had a fifteen percent Angie s discount that save me fifteen hundred bucks of the initial price. They were great to deal with and they kept me posted. We ordered early October after the big power failure due to the hurricane. There was a back log and they kept me posted. It took four to six weeks to get it but that wasn t their fault.

Their prices were very reasonable and was one of the reasons why I hired them. They were very knowledgeable. They could do the job right away and did quality work. I would recommend them to others.

They gave me the estimate, and I had three other estimates done at the same time. All three additional estimates were significantly less expensive than Mr. Electric, so we went with another company. They were, however, on time and the gentleman who came out was very knowledgeable about the problem. I would consider using them in the future, but I would get price comparisons first.

Very professional and did a great job. He even did something extra - got my garbage disposal working again at no extra charge. Definitely went above and beyond. The charge for the service was reasonable. He was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. I can't wait to have him back out to do more work.

Very good experience. Our chandelier is in our 2 story foyer so it was little challenge. They did a good job on that as well as fixing an electrical issue with one of our outlets. In all, very good work.

The technician was punctual and very friendly. He was able to provide me with pricing immediately, which included both the labor and materials. We did not use this company because we decided to buy a fan which we can install ourselves.

The technician gave me a quote for the job which I thought seemed awfully high for the job. However, I was anxious to have the lights installed and I know nothing about electrical work, so I thought this job must be difficult and lengthy to complete. I was very surprised to find that the technician was able to install nine of the lights in less than three hours and the foyer light fixture was hung in about a half hour. My total bill for this job was a whopping $740. If you do the arithmetic, that comes out to $219 per hour. Again, I am at fault for not taking the time to obtain additional quotes for the job, but I still feel as though I have been "taken to the cleaners". The next time I have any electrical work to be done, I will be checking out other companies.

Old fan was removed and new one was installed. This was done effectively. The problem was that the new fan made a lot of noise when the exhaust tube was attached but the sound went away when the tube was removed. Mr. Electric was careful to let me know that they couldn't guarantee that the sound would be fixed. I was hoping for a "one stop solution" but they didn't have expertise with sound issues. I made multiple trips to Home Depot, called the manufacture, searched internet, and became an "attic warrior." I finally fixed the problem, but it was WAY too difficult and time consuming. I was hoping that Mr. Electric could take care of everything, but I had to "clean up" the situation myself. Technically, they did their job flawlessly. But my problem was bigger than the job they did.

The people at Mr. Electric who scheduled my appointment were very nice and got me on the calendar quickly. While I was on the phone they told me exactly how their cost structure works so there were no surprises when the technician arrived, though I do feel that $60 seems like a lot for a diagnostic visit (approximately 7-minutes). They sent a technician to check our washing machine which was leaking. He found that the leak was caused by a nail jammed into one of the drain holes. The technician gave me a quote on the spot to fix the leak, then suggested that the cost to replace might be less than the cost to repair. He was right - we bought a new washing machine instead, but very much appreciated the candor and truthfulness of the technician.

I contacted Mr. Electric to do some small electrical projects around our home. I appreciated that they quotes were per job, not per hour, so it was nice to know up front how much it would cost. The gentleman who performed the work was prompt and very professional and all work was done well. I would recommend them for small jobs!

We initially contacted this company to give us an estimate on roughing in for a ceiling fan, installing two quads in our basement and moving an outlet for our television. The quoted price was very good, so we chose to use the company. When the installer arrived, he quoted us a vastly different, and much more expensive, price than we were originally quoted. We had the original quote and the installer called into the office to see what he could do. They agreed to charge us the quoted price for installing the ceiling fan. The installer was very quick and had the fan installed in less than an hour. He was very personable and spent a little time talking to my husband and I about cameras after the install was complete.

Installing the sconses was not an easy job for them, but they were able to get it done and get it done correctly. They did a really nice job installing everything and keeping the area very neat and clean.

They came out to review the work to be done and provided an estimate which we felt was reasonable. They came out on the scheduled day, within a week and performed the work. They performed the work to our satisfaction.

It was very good. The job isn't completely done but that's not their fault. I made an appointment in the afternoon and they were here the next morning. They were here for an hour and half and found more problems and agreed to do it. There were two gentlemen who were here on time. They had to obtain an electrical permit to do the job due to local codes, and because of the storm that happened they got very busy with tons of electrical problems, but they are coming back. I had another fella come in who was recommended by a friend. He finally came and got the info and said he'd get back to me with a quote. He hasn't called back.

AEP sent me a letter stating I needed to have the meter reconnected. I called Mr. Electric (after calling 3 other companies only 1 which gave me an estimate). I called Mr. Electric and was impressed with the secretary answering the phone gave a very friendly greeting and was very knowledgeable. This was a few days after the windstorm (Hurricane Ike) knocked out power to most of Columbus. She explained that it would be a few day before a technician could come out, he would give me an estimate, and if I wanted them to do the job they would do it then. The technician came gave me an accurate estimate much lower then the other company. When I asked about that he went and rechecked the job and said it would be slightly higher, but was still almost $500.00 lower than the other company. I hired them, he completed the job and made recommendations about future work that would need to be done, in the next 2-3 years. He gave me an approximate price for that job. He also answered questions about my house wiring and approximate cost. Very very satisfied with the work preformed and very impressed with the company.

They came so promptly and I?m very appreciative about that. When my husband came home the generator stopped working again, it was out of oil again. He looked at the receipt to see what had been done to it and saw that all he did was add oil. He called the company to see what else he had done to find out why it was using oil so fast. He was told they would have the tech call him back and we never heard back from them, the company or the tech.

They are punctual and professional. They clean up after themselves. I like them a lot!

Arrived when promised to give an estimate for the work. Bryan made sure he understood exactly what was wanted. Arrived when promised to do the work. Did all work as promised and I was very pleased with the results. He cleaned up after himself.

Two visits were required. The first, for an "advanced diagnostic" apparently took the longest, and was billed out at over 200 dollars. The second was supposed to be easy, as the repair was "marked" by the first man, and the second visit would involve two techs. When the second guy came out, he was alone, and completely in the dark as to what needed to get done. He asked ME what to do. The lack of communication between people in this company is completely unacceptable. Then to bill out essentially double (over 200 dollars again for the second visit) is ridiculous.

Was the highest of of three companies quoting. Other two companies were very close to one another's quote, but this company was several hundred dollars higher.

They did a good job. I had had another company in and had to fire them because they couldn't do the job. This group that I called in did extremely well.
