Mr. Electric of Columbus

I called and within an hour had an electrician (Dion) at my house. He looked at the previous bonding job and was able to confirm it was not only not done to code but was in fact more of a safety hazard than not having the CSST bonded at all! He fixed the prior bonding job in a very timely but more importantly, correct, manner!! Dion was friendly, answered all my questions and was honest about the fact it would be a quick job but that he would still have to charge the cost of a service call. However, with the Angie's list discount, the final price was within the range of what I had quoted by some other electric companies. Overall a great experience!

I had purchased the light fixture they just installed. It was a quick job less than an hour. They were professional and efficient. It was a quick turn around from call to completion. He spoke with me about the product we installed.

They were very responsive when I contacted them. I just didn’t need the deal and that is why I got a refund as I had someone else install the fan.

Took off from work to meet the tech at my home and got a phone call saying he was on his way. About 30 minutes later I got another call asking if I had been told that there had been a mistake and that they had scheduled the wrong service guy to my area; that the right service guy was already booked up and couldn't make it that day............would I like to reschedule? Needless to say, I did not reschedule.

The gentleman who came out was on time, nice, and professional. We found a better price for the job we needed so we did not use Mr. ELECTRIC.

Kenny did a thorough and methodical job. I love my ceiling fans and all of the work that he did.

I have a 100amp box and in order to install the surge protector, a 150amp would have made it easier. There weren't enough circuits to add it to my box. If he would have looked at it beforehand, he would have seen this. He had to take some of the circuit breakers out and make them double the size. He definitely knew what he was doing and did a good job, but it did end up costing me more than the deal stated.

They did a good job. It was more complicated that we thought it was going to be but we got the job done so it was fine. It was complicated because we couldn't get into the attic, they had to do the job from underneath, from downstairs. At first we thought it was impossible but he did the impossible and got it done.

After having written a very positive review for major work done on April 24-25 (installation of a new circuit panel and whole house surge protector), I was sure I would get an equally professional response to a much smaller job, installing a ceiling light fixture in the kitchen--but the opposite was the case. The work was first scheduled for June 2 between 1 and 3 PM--no one came, no one called. When I called at 3, I was told I was still on the schedule, and that the electricians were running behind. I waited then until 5--no call, no response. I called Mr. Electric and rescheduled for June 3, between 10 and 12. Again, no one came but a call around 11:30 informed me that an electrician might be free around 12. But by then we were weary of uncertainty, of maybe and might, and cancelled the job. After this experience, I will turn to one of the other top-rated electricians in Columbus for any work we need. I had not expected such a scheduling mess from this company.

Dion installed the fan in a short amount of time. He also did an inspection of my electrical service and found some additional items that were in need of modification for safety concerns. He did not pressure me to have the additional work done but I decided to go ahead and schedule it. I will also have them install whole house surge protection.

On the initial visit we discussed the job, electrical codes and concerns about placement of wiring and outlets. Sheridan and his assistant were very professional and careful to keep every thing clean and picked up in and out. Arrived on time and were efficiently working the whole time they were here. The tempurature was 90 outside and they were running lines through the attic of a ranch house. He was very attentive to my concerns about the wiring not showing on the siding. The outlets look like they are part of the blind cover mechanism. The awning wire is not visible at all. He wired them into the panel box and showed us the marked circuits they are on for future use. Will definitely call them for future electrical needs.

They were late for both visits. When I called with a concern, they were very responsive. They fixed the concern. I feel both technicians were knowledgeable. Both were neat and courteous.

We have an outdoor outlet on our garage that stopped working. Mr. Electric thought he found the problem and replaced the GFCI but it happened again. We called a few days later and requested another service call. This time the real problem was found and repairs made at no extra charge.

A day before the coldest weather of the winter hit us, the furnace was strangely shutting on and off. Favret Heating & Cooling (with whom we have a maintenance agreement) came and discovered a loose wire at the wall switch, which controls power to the furnace. The technician repaired it, and urged us to have that switch and the wire replaced in the spring. We chose Mr. Electric of Columbus & Cincinnati from Angie's List of A-rated companies, and were very happy indeed with that choice. The technician, JR, was able to come the same day I called. He did the wiring to the furnace perfectly, and then examined the circuit panel, which was original equipment from the 1960s. We have been wanting to replace that panel, and now was the time. The young man explained his diagnosis, the work that he would then do, his recommendation of a whole-house surge protector, all with exemplary clarity and in detail. The work was scheduled for the following Friday, and took some 7 hours. He also replaced the outside meter base. The total price was reduced by a coupon we printed out from Angie's List. In every respect, it was a most positive experience, and we will turn to Mr. Electric for any future electrical projects. (The power to the house was off during those 7 hours, but our dear neighbor offered to connect an outdoor extension cord from her front porch to our house, so that we could keep the refrigerator running.) The technician, JR, worked steadily throughout, and proved himself to be an observant and expert electrician.

I called the company and after some acceptable missteps had an appointment for the next day at 10AM. However, the next morning no one showed up at 10AM. When I called the company at 10:30 they said the electrician was delayed and would be there soon. I called again at arouind 12noon and was told that someone would arrive in about an hour. An electrician did finally show up at about 12:30. The main problem I had in all this was the fact that I received no communication from the company. I only got information when I called them. When the electrician finally arrived he apologized for the lack of communication (he thought the company had contacted me). He went right to work. He was very professional and pleasant and did a fine job of installing my ceiling fan. I have no problem with the work that was done. My only issue was with the lack

I purchased an Angie's List "deal" for ceiling fan installation and was contacted the next day to talk about scheduling. We scheduled the installation within days, I was called on the appointment date to let me know the service person was on his way, and the work was completed quickly and efficiently. I was positively impressed by the courtesy of the service person. He answered any questions I had.

Prompt, professional, friendly. Did a nice job, kept the room clean and managed to install the right bracket without damaging plaster.

I had not been contacted after I bought the Angie's List deal. But when I called the company (over a week after I bought the deal), it was promptly scheduled. The service man arrived at the end of the 2 hour window I was given, but was very nice, respectful and professional. He did an excellent job with the fan and cleaned up afterwards. He also did a complimentary electric inspection to check circuits, breakers, etc and gave an estimate for recommended work.

I purchased a big deal, and they called to book within 48 hours of my purchase. The techs arrived at the early side of the time window. Two techs came to complete the work - they were able to install the fan I purchased quickly. They did a check of my home and made some suggestions of updates I could make without a hard sell. They also took a quick look at a whole house generator I have that was giving me an error message and helped with that and quoted a better price for the service on that than I had gotten previously! I will book that service soon - so I recommend them.

They had advertised a free estimate, which was confirmed when I called to schedule. However, the repair person told me that this did not hold if he had to pick up a tool, which he did to remove the cover of the fuse box. Although he never identified the actual source of the problem we were having, he left an estimate for over $1700 of suggested repairs.

Great Service. Came same day on time. Smoke detectors had malfunctioned. Mr. Electric replaced all of them. Gave quote before doing work. Very professional. Would definitely use again. Accepted Angie's List coupon. Highly recommended!

The two electricians were on time, very professional and friendly. They installed the surge protector. Also installed three new smoke detectors and several safety plugs, including a single plug just for the microwave, which is required but we did not have. They checked two nonworking outside lights, fixing a wire for one and completely replacing the other. They suggested a few additional items we might think about for the future, and we will be happy to have them come back. A great experience.
