Two major problems. First problem: My original call to them was May 30, 2019. Window finally installed October 5. (Over 4 months later). Unacceptable delay. Second problem: when they finally installed the window, they did not caulk it at the bottom. This was discovered by a painter by accident. If not corrected, water will get between wooden frame pieces and rot. Unacceptable. I have photos to prove this.

Gentleman on phone when checking about part was polite and helpful. Woman behind the counter had a horrible “your bothering me attitude!” No welcome or thank you after purchase. Not friendly and rude. I like the business and products they offer, but they need to find someone who has some customer service ability because she is not representing your company in a good way!

Western Windows came out and inspected all of the windows and ordered the necessary parts. When the parts were ready, they scheduled another appointment to complete the repairs. All of the repairs were completed professionally and completely. We are very happy that the windows now are as good as new.
Description of Work: We had several vinyl replacements windows (installed by a previous owner about 20 years ago) that needed repair. One had a cracked pane. Several others would not stay up or were not stable when tilted out for cleaning.

The company did exactly what we wanted in restoring our wonderful old windows. The cost was equivalent to total replacement windows. The installers were true craftsmen. When an unexpected odd problem arose, they worked out a solution. They arrived on time, worked with little or no intrusion, and cleaned up nicely. We would recommend Western Windows Service to anyone who wants to maintain and restore their old home.

Tech was right on time - not early, and not late. Did an excellent job in replacing the mechanism. Window was very heavy and on the 2nd floor. Was not a simple job. The new mechanism works great and we are very pleased with the results. Highly recommend Western Window Service for work such as this. It is not easy finding a quality service such as this which works on window repair rather than window replacement. It was helpful that I purchased the replacement part in advance from WWS. They supplied the exact part that needed to be replaced (matching it to a 30-year old original part). Then, instead of just getting an estimate, the tech was able to complete the job in one shot - and for that we are very pleased.

After a couple of weeks wait for the glass to come in, the installation was scheduled for today. The installer arrived when scheduled, was very professional, and worked non-stop on the job for about 50 minutes. The job was done very neatly. The result was excellent. I'd recommend Western to anyone who needs a replacement window, especially one that isn't one of the big name brands (a window solely sold by Menard's).

Everything went very well. I originally stopped at the business to describe my problem - that some of the 24 year old windows were very difficult to close once they were open. These are Andersen wood windows and I did not want to replace them at this time. They scheduled a technician to come to my house to inspect the windows. The man came to my house, checked out tge windows and indicated he felt they could be improved by cleaning the mechanisms and thoroughly lubricating all working parts of the windows. I also needed 5 new handles. Shortly after, I received a written estimate. I called and approved the work. On July 7, 2 technicians came to my house and did the work. I am pleased to say that the windows operate much, much better and I am very pleased with the results. Of the cost of the service, almost $90. was for the 5 new handles. The service and labor was $104. The handles seemed a bit expensive but they had to fot the Andersen brand.

When the weather started to turn cooler and we started shutting up our windows for the season, we realized we have one window in the bedroom that would no longer shut all the way. Western Window advertises a lot and others have said they are a good company, so we thought we'd give them a try. I called two weeks ago. The lady on the phone wasn't particularly friendly, and she said it would be two weeks before someone could get out here. The repairman was just here, but before he even crossed the threshold he said, and quot; These are Pella windows; we don't work on Pella windows.and quot; I asked why I wasn't told that when I called for the appointment, and he said he didn't know; he's let the appointment makers know many times before that they need to ask before they schedule an appointment. The repairman was extremely nice and professional, and even gave me the number for a Pella service shop right there on the spot. (It must happen a lot.) 1. If you're so overwhelmed with business that it takes two weeks to get someone out to even assess the problem, either hire some more people or stop advertising so much. 2. If you don't work on a particular common brand of window, say so up front! If the appointment maker had bothered to ask what kind of windows I have and had told me how to tell if mine were Pella (super easy—it's written right on the window), we could have all saved a lot of time and grief. 3. What a giant waste of my time and the repairman's time. In the two weeks I've been sitting around waiting for them to come out to do something that it ends up they don't do, I could have had someone who actually does this work come out and get it done. I'm sure that they're probably fine at what they do, when they actually can do the work, but this business of being told they don't work on this brand after waiting two weeks for an appointment is unacceptable. Their office customer service needs a lot of improvement.

I called Western Windows about 5 weeks before I had a week vacation off from work. I was a little shocked when they told me they could not fit me in until about 7 weeks (after my vacation was over). A little discouraged by that, but I thought that a busy company must mean a good company (later I realized this assumption was wrong). They gave me only one day that their window guy could come out. This day did not work very well with my schedule. Asked to switch to another possible day, but they were not flexible. I had to leave work for a bit to come home and let the window guy in. Took difficult to remove screens out and took measurements for the sliding door. Did not take very long (under 20 mins), but the repair guy did stop for a few minutes to take a non-emergency personal call on his sell phone. He did not apologize and I thought this was very unprofessional. He told me that the screens and door would be ready in two weeks. I thought this was too long for the work required, especially since they were doing the work at their onsite factory. When the screens and door were finally ready they called me and as usual, could only come on one day (Tuesday) and during a very small time window. They also let me know this only the day before at a little before 5pm. This gave me really no notice at all to tell my job that I needed to cut out for awhile. The same repair guy came out and installed slider door with no problems. However, he struggled with popping back in one of the new screens. He finally was able to secure it back in, though. However, just before he left I decided to take a look over and I was so glad that I did! There was a nickel size hole on the corner of the screen that was being struggled with. The opening was certainly large enough for insects to get in through. Not happy that the repair man did not catch this or if he did, was not honest enough to tell me about the damage. Brought it to his attention and he said that it would be fixed and replaced next week. What the heck! Their mistake and it should've been fixed within the next 2 days! However, got a week from the infamous Tuesday response. Pretty angry by their inflexibility and told the repair man that I could not take time off work yet again for this same project that should've been done correctly the first time. Luckily they were able to replace the screen the next week from the outside, without entering my home. I thought the company would discount my final bill or at least apologize for the delays. No, they never did. I am not a happy customer with them. While the materials are of good quality, the charges were high and the customer service was just horrible. I called them because a friend referred them from service the company did for her 5 years ago. It is quite obvious that much has change for the worse with this company in recent years.

They are extremely unprofessional. First of all the young man who took out the door nearly broke it through rough treatment. Now they said they are ready to deliver it back--but could only give us a choice of one hour on one day this week and if we weren't home--tough. They said they only deliver to the east side one day a week and it would be up to the scheduler to see if any exception could be made--but he is out of town for another week! They never told us this when the PICKED UP the window.

We recently purchased an old home and are looking to have the windows repaired and the glass upgraded. I saw the name of this company in an artical in the Plain Dealer and it implied that they do window repairs on old homes. When I called, the woman answering the phone said they only deal in hardware and do not do glazing, stripping or glass replacement. She was pleasant enough, but couldn't offer any information re: a business that could provide the services we need.

My window cleaner recommended Western Window Service after I showed him some problems with my windows. They did exactly what they said they would do. They are in my area on Wednesdays. On Tuesday, I received calls to both my home and cell phones stating what time they would be at my house. The service person arrived at exactly the right time, examined the windows, and made measurements for the repairs and replacements that needed to be done. Within a week, I received an estimate from the company. Once I accepted it by paying half, they scheduled a time for the installation/repair work to be done. Again, I was called on both phone lines with a time, the repair person showed up at exactly the right time and did the work. The new screens fit perfectly and the windows with new balances move well.
Description of Work: They furnished and installed 4 window balances, made 2 new screens with hardware, and installed 2 new loop latches on an existing screen.
