AREA WIDE CHEM DRY

The workers were nice and the work was OK. But none of it was a dry clean with chemicals. It all involved steam and/or water-based cleaning. I wasn't told this until I asked about cleaning some upholstered chairs as they were leaving with our carpets. The gentleman then explained that they no longer are a dry cleaning operation. This should be a part of their advertising, straight up, when you first contact them. Some fabrics require a dry-cleaning method, and I was a bit concerned that our rugs fell into that category. They came back OK, but it's faulty advertising.

We requested a 9am appointment and they showed up right on time. The principal reason I called was to have the gawd-awful couch and recliner cleaned and decided to have the dark frieze carpets cleaned at the same time. They worked on the furniture first. My wife was there and she was instant-messaging the progress. She said they were really scrubbing/cleaning the couch/chair (especially the chair - mine, of course), and that they were "sweating up a storm" in our A/C'd house while vigorously working on them. The furniture turned out BEAUTIFULLY, and saved us from having to buy new furniture for another couple years. Since the carpets are a dark burgundy, I really can't comment on how clean they got them or how dirty they were in the first place. However, as advertised, the carpets were dry within two hours. The chair/couch took around 8 hours to dry with box fans on them. Cost: FR/steps, hallway = $120 Sofa = $70 Recliner = $50 Furniture protectant = $40 Tax = $19 I rated Area Wide a "C" on price because I thought that was a little high. However, I'm not in the market all the time for this type of service, so it might be competitive considering the fast-dry process. It would've been a little higher, but the cleaning guys told my wife about an online coupon. So, she went online and printed it. Saved $20. Great reps, great work, and clean clean furniture!!
