Project went well, Danny and his crew were great! They went above and beyond for us and I really appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail!

Great, company matched our lowest price and gave us a very good deal, but it did take a good bit of negotiating, price was significantly lower than original quote. End product looks very nice. Crew that was at the house was very helpful and nice. We had a few questions/concerns, they were all addressed to our satisfaction.

The installer Brian Helmuth was professional and friendly. He went as far as removing his shoes every time he entered my home. The sales rep. indicated that there would likely be two people for the install. Brian was not informed of the difficulties the installation would involved, but he was knowable, pleasant to work with and dedicated to completing the job professionally and in a timely manor. All though Brian was not provided all the necessary supplies to complete the job.He took the extra time to gather most of the necessary supplies and return. Brian left the area as clean as it was when he arrived to my home. I will contact Universal to discuss the remaining work and supplies, I have no reason to believe that the remainder of the job will be complete. I would look forward to working with both Universal and Brian again in the future.

Fantastic from start to finish! I was contacted by email as my storm doors and window were being built. My installers Billy and Rick were professional and did a great job! They installed everything quickly and cleaned up everything.

Tom Miller, Jonathan Helmuth , Paul and Tiger arrived at my home on Feb 22, 2017 and replaced all the windows in my home. They were all courteous and worked as a choreographed team. After all work was completed the team cleaned up.

The were really professional about their work. Pricewise maybe they are not the cheapest but they sure are really professional. They called ahead and they were punctual with every appointment. They cleaned up after themselves. Cliff and his installers did a great job and cleaned after themselves. I am very happy with their work!

Very smooth. They arrived on time. It only took 5 hours to remove old windows and install new windows. Tom Miller was great. He made sure that the job was done to perfection.

From the initial sales visit, to the measurements, to the final installation, this has been a tremendously wonderful experience. Facts are facts, windows for your entire home are an investment. Every aspect of this transaction has been flawless. This company has been patient, easy to work with, informative, courteous, polite, and has gone well over & beyond in every aspect of the transaction. It's a true testament to these folks, I wish all business transactions were this way in life. I would HIGHLY recommend that if you need any work that this company could provide for you, to give them a call. You will not be disappointed.

Workers were great, did a great job putting in door and answered all my questions

This was the worst sales experience of my life. Sales guy was in my home for 3 hours and was relentless and pushy. Sales person would not take a clue that it was time to leave and continued to try and make a sale on the spot, including calling his manager to attempt to sweeten the deal. Beware that buying windows from UWD is worse than a used car sales experience.

It was great. They were prompt and very courteous. The whole process took less than 3 hours and the new windows are beautiful.

The crew was very professional. They explained everything to me. I would highly recommend Universal Windows for an future work.

Paul and Tom were the installers. They were awesome. They were there on time and we're very clean and very professional. They were extremely nice. They cleaned up everything when done. They went around after they were done and made sure everything was good and that they didn't forget anything. They also made sure I was satisfied and they answered all my questions. I would highly recommended Universal Windows Direct to everyone. My husband and kids were home when they came and they kept saying how nice they were.

Front storm/screen they did not discuss the change with us door received was of high quality but was not what we had ordered. Company claimed they gave us a better door than what was ordered but they did not discuss the change with us prior to installing the door. Ordered a new side door but the door sent was larger than the old door. Company had to enlarge the door opening to make it fit then they had to buy us a new screen door to fit the new door size. Ordered two large bay windows. Company had two different employees measure existing windows. They new windows are 6 - 8 inches shallower than the old windows - and they were not properly caulked. Quality products, shoddy installation, inability to provide all the specified products, and poor communication regarding unilateral changes made to our order.

I would never recommend them if ever asked.

The installation of these windows was shockingly problematic. The process went well until the installation process began. First, the removal of the frames from the living room wall was done too aggressive and rough and large areas of paint and drywall came off. Secondly, re-installing the frames was also done aggressively and without care. Too many nails were randomly put in to hold the frames and topped off with paste to cover them. The result was that the frames looked ugly and damaged and looked very sloppy. They also didn't put the frames back in the exact position and an ugly gap was left over at the end of the frame. No attempt by the installers was done to either fix the paint, drywall or the frames. After I complained, the installers went out and got some paint to try to fix the horrible look left by the windows. They put very little time and effort trying to fix the paint and drywall. They did the least possible amount of effort to get the windows to look half decent. The installers claimed to have many years of experience, but the results showed they lacked complete knowledge of what they were doing and had zero craftsmanship installing windows. To top it off, they damaged my custom-made dining room shades. They first got them very dirty with black marks all over. Again, the installers made no mention of this problem until I brought it up. Almost as if they were clueless to the black marks they left on them. After my complaint, they said they would clean up my shades. Well, they must have used some sort of bleach because whatever they used removed the color of my shades!!!! I couldn't believe it. To this, they claimed ignorance and said they only used water. They mentioned talking to a manager about this issue and getting back to me and they never did. So, I was left with destroyed walls, frames, and shades. To top it off, they didn't clean up properly after they left. They left the windows dirty with white dust and left white dust all over the floor. They were also careless about consistently wearing booties on their dirty shoes. The weather was rainy and we had plenty of mud outside. I was cringing each time I saw them walking inside my house on my new carpet with their dirty shoes on. Doing this just shows a lack of professionalism and basic knowledge of how to work in people's homes. Overall, this was a very stressful situation and I do NOT recommend Universal Windows because of their installers. By the way, when the salesman came to do his sales pitch, he took time to mention how Universal Windows have their own installers, unlike other window companies. This impressed us and unfortunately, I think it was a big lie. From talking to these installers, they work part-time for Universal Windows and do other jobs on the side. For example, one of the installers was heading to JoAnn's to do some handyman work after he left our home. So, don't be deceived into believing these guys are professional window installers. They are not. Hiring them will cause you headaches and damaged property. Stay away from Universal Windows Direct.

We could not be happier. We had a great selection of doors to choose from - they were custom made in the amount of time quoted. The installation turned out to be more of a job than anticipated, and the crew worked much longer to make sure they were right. The old molding around the doors would no longer fit and Joe ( owner) found someone to mill new molding, and spent an entire afternoon installing them himself. The finished product is beautiful. I cannot say enough good things about this company and the quality work that was done. I would not hesitate them to recommend them to my friends, and if we ever need new windows, or doors- call them again.

What I like about this company is that their products are USA made, top quality, and the service will make you understand why not to use a big-box company. The salesman was a very likable and reasonable guy. I did make him stay at my house for a long time while we discussed the feasibility of this large home improvement project. I did call the office a few times and always had good service during those phone calls. Tom Miller was my main install guy with a second person named Paul. They were fast and efficient from my perspective. There was only one hiccup, where the measure on one of the windows was off a bit, but the guys made no fuss about it and solved the problem without a complaint. I would recommend this company. We had 10 windows put in today the crew was not only knowledgable and professional they were most importantly very respectful of my home which is means the world to me. The crew was fast , efficient and very thorough in the installation as well as the clean up. I am very pleased. Yes, I Love my windows!!!!

they were prompt, work was finish in a prompt timely fashion. they were clean,(covered the floors with tarp and wore foot covers) They took time to how to work the windows, and answered any questions that I had. I was pleased with their work.

Universal Windows Direct Angie’s List review--B On September 20th, 2016, I contracted with Universal Windows Direct for siding, shutters, gutters, and a storm door on my house and garage for a total of almost $20,000. I was assured by the salesperson that the job would be done with quality materials and in a timely manner. It is now December 1st and the job is just being completed today--waited forever for the shutters to be delivered by ALSIDE and installed by UWD. It has been several weeks since the siding and gutters were done, the repairs of things that were wrong completed, and one week since the door was installed. Many phone calls and emails later, I am hoping that today will be the day. There have been numerous apologies and excuses. There have been no offers of a discounted price or an additional service to make up for all of this aggravation. Bottom line—UWD couldn’t finish the job because ALSIDE kept messing things up. On the plus side, what has been done looks very nice. The people who did the siding/gutters work were, for the most part, very good. There was some damage during the tear-off, which was later fixed or replaced. The clean-up could have been better and I’m still picking up stuff in the yard. The door installer was great and went above and beyond to make sure it fit perfectly. The UWD office personnel in charge of scheduling, ordering, and making sure materials arrive on time repeatedly tried to get ALSIDE to come through with no luck, as did one of the installers. The salesperson also tried to help. I would have been fine with a few days or even a two week delay but this is has been ridiculous. I would have also liked better communication about what was going on instead of me having to nag constantly. Would I recommend Universal Windows Direct? Yes, but conditionally. For this amount of money, both companies should get things as close to perfect as possible. In my case, they did not.

Very smooth. I was impressed with the professionalism shown by Marvin and Troy who installed my windows. The windows look great and the outside trim work (as important as the windows themselves) was outstanding. It was very cold outside but the installers worked quickly, did one window at a time so there was very little impact on the temperature inside my home.
