Description of Work: Cleaned the furnace. It would not have started If he had not done the cleaning. Replaced the Water Panel in the humidifier for an extra charge. Also looked at the furnace system to determine why it was not working.

Description of Work: I discovered I had a leak in my water tank. I had a flier from Mr. Fixit for an HVAC or plumbing repair, but they were local, so I called them. My need wasn't too urgent because I still had water pressure, but they got me an appointment the next morning. The service technician arrived promptly and pleasantly. He was able to discern the issue instantly and quickly noted that my tank was still under warranty. I am a new homeowner, so he talked me through the process of calling the manufacturer to replace the tank and we were able to go pick it up that day at a nearby home repair store. He installed it and showed me how to maintain the tank and flush it. It was an expensive bit of labor, but it could have been even more so if he hadn't been willing to put the time in to help me replace the tank under the warranty and the education on water heater maintenance was a nice bonus.

Description of Work: I thought they were a bit pricey. |Tune-up was $99 - $10 discount = $89. Then as tech. was doing the job he said I needed a furnace gas pressure test/reset/test. The test itself takes less than 5 minutes and I was billed $69 additional dollars for this test.

Description of Work: I have used fixit man in the past. My a/c was not working. I explained to them I am moving soon so I did not want to invest very much money. They replaced a couple of parts and I was good to go. I really like this service provider because they are professional, punctual, and they never try to sell me more than I need. They get the job done!

+ -1 moreTom quoted price up-front over the phone without looking at the job. No minimums. No ups. Invoice was the exact amount quoted. Tom has excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with customers. Watched him perform the entire job. He did a good job of explaining every step and the type and kind of equipment being used. Tom, gave excellent advice on how to prevent the roots from growing back into sewer line at minimal cost. Advised snaking line every 5 years as preventative maintenance measure. Very honest and forthright. Great guy. Expert at what he was doing.
Description of Work: Clean/snake out completely blocked main sewer drain line from house to city sewer line. Cleaned out about 100 feet of tree roots totally blocking drain line. Cleared backed up sewage which was about 3 inches deep in finished basement. Tom was instrumental in identifying that homeowners insurance would cover clean up of sewage mess in basement, replace wall-to-wall carpeting, paneling, furniture, and everything else that got wet. This was a God-send. Very honest. Have standard prices. Don't jack the price up when customer needs help yesterday.

+ -1 moreCompany was called to repair furnace. We initiated discussion of replacing the furnace because of its age and recent repair history. The repairman had owner, Jerry Johnson, call to discuss the situation. Jerry patiently invested a considerable amount of time answering questions about potential future repairs to existing furnace and about the brands and models of furnaces he could install, advised us of an additional requirement we would face to install glass block windows if we chose a high energy furnace we were considering, then stepped back and gave us time to make our decision. Installer showed up as scheduled; work was done quickly and area was left clean. Jerry personally stopped by to assist with part of the installation and to make sure all was going well. We previously had this company install an air conditioner and repair the old furnace. The most recent work is representative of the quality of service we have received from this company over several years.
