The men that put on the new roof spoke in Spanish. My daughter (who understands Spanish) said that they were saying things about her. They left a small hole in the roof near a joint. I notified them and they came and worked on it. But still left a hole. Used nails for the vents near the top of the house. They started rusting immediately. They did not cover them. The roof had a lot of puckering.
Description of Work: He took the roof off down to the studs. Put on a new roof.

I hired this company to do a roofing job on my home. I hired them in July and was told that the job would be completed the first week in Sept 2011. The second week in August I called the rep (Paul) that I was dealing with and he confirmed it would be the first week in Sept but couldn't give me a date so he would have some one call me to schedule. A few days later I called to get everything scheduled since I never received a call and was told that my file didn't exist and that they lost my information. After a few days of promised phone calls and never receiving them from anyone in their company (I had to call them back every time I was told I would get a call). They finally found my file with my persistent phone calls. They found my file in the completed cabinet which means I never would have gotten my roof done if I hadn't contacted them because they put my file in the wrong place. After this they still kept giving me the run around. Many more phone calls and I finally got my roof scheduled and completed. It was too late int he year to try to find another roofer ( I tried and they were all booked) after the storms. I was at work and my husband was home with the kids and he happened to look out the window and see one of their works pour pop on my cat because it wanted attention. Of course that didn't fly well with me. As soon as the job was completed ( I was still at work) they called me wanting to collect payment. Really?! You screwed me around for weeks and now all of a sudden I am a priority?! I will NEVER use them company or recommend this company to anyone. I am sure that there are more details I am forgetting since it has been a year but overall the experience with this company was horrible! The worst part is that I referred my neighbor to them when I first hired them. As far as I know he didn't have much issue with them after I had mine done but they probably figured it wasn't smart to make 2 of us mad lol BEWARE of this company, they don't value their clients!
Description of Work: Company was hired for a residential home roofing job. That included tear off, repairs, and replacement as well as adding a ridge vent.

Paul said he would come out in a few days for the inspection and provide a written summary and details via email a few days after that. Paul came out for the inspection and that was the last I heard from him. I called a week after the inspection and he said he had already emailed the paperwork (I never got), so I again provided my email. After a few more days with no word, I emailed him directly at the email address on his business, but still no response. Again, never received anything back in the form of a report or inspection summary and haven't heard back from the voicemails left for him. If you are too busy to take on more work or follow up with customers, just say so from the beginning. Don't drag your feet the whole time and promise what you don't intend to deliver on. The business card provided by Paul has the Pro-tech phone number but has the company name as "Quality Exterior and Restoration, LLC" No address was listed, but another phone number was 937-694-5529
Description of Work: I received Paul's name and phone number as referral from a co-worker. I called Paul to come out and do a roof inspection of recent wind damage and a possible re-inspection with the insurance adjuster if needed. No work was ever completed after the inspection.

I Needed a front door installed, they came to look at it and said they can take care of it and offered to look at our roof, if it needed replaced they agreed to lie to the insurance company so you don't have to pay a down payment on the work done. these guys are a scam, they took a year to finish my roof they did the new roof in november i think and i sat all winter long with my windows/skylights leaking in, took 3 attempts of sealing the skylights many roof leaks they had to re-roof a back porch because they didn't do it well enough the first time, the door was installed only 5 weeks after the roof was first finished. bad company still have stains on my ceilings after i made them paint them from the first leaks they caused long term stains appeared weeks after and the door they replaced on the front is about to fall off if an attorney would like to take this case i would love to take them to court. they took advantage of me and my insurance
Description of Work: New roof on house garage and pourch, piece of siding replaced, and a front door installed. initial call was for door insulation and the door wasn't hung until 5 weeks after the roof was first laid

The quote was for $13,920 for the roof plus the gutters. We didn’t go with them. I actually never met them; they just came and talked to my wife and left an estimate. They were pretty quick but I don’t even think that they followed back up. They just came, got up on the roof and gave a quick estimate. I would have liked them to have done more than a quick estimate; like being thorough and see if they’d missed anything. The only reason that we decided not to go with this company was because they only cover the roof and the gutters. They didn’t look at anything outside of the stuff that was being covered by the insurance company. They were also from out of town and I wanted someone more local.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Pro-Tech Roofing LLC about a month or 6 weeks ago. We had hail damage and we were looking to replace the roof.

Crew arrived at daybreak with all materials needed and worked until sundown. Drop cloths were placed around entire perimeter of the house and existing shingles were torn off (3 layers) with new felt, snow & ice guard, drip edge and 30 yr shingles installed. Work was completed in one day which included cleanup and haul away of all trash and scrap material. The job was very satisfactory and contractor was friendly and co-operative throughout whole procedure winding up with 2 more referral jobs as a result .
Description of Work: Contractor tore off existing roof shingles and inspected and replaced plywood sheets where needed. It was a complete roof replacement.

Description of Work: We had wind and hail damage to our roof. Pro-Tech Roofing and Handyman Services Ruined my new gutters while tearing off the old roof. They Dented them and scratched finish off of 50% of them. They had workers that could not speak English. No one could communicate with me. I had to call the owner just to get simple answers to easy questions. They did not tarp the undone portion of the roof and when it rained the water leaked into our master bedroom and bathroom room ceilings. They did a botch job cleaning up my textured ceiling. They put Poor flashing around chimney which caused leaking in living room. They Damaged new vinyl window siding on our new windows, a couple of them needed new vinyl trim replaced. They damaged gutter guards that are still missing and not replaced. They put in a new sun roof window in above the garage and did not line it up evenly on the inside drywall, so it was installed crocked. They took old roof shingles off in high winds and they scattered debri into 3 neighbors yards and did not gather it up until it was requested. I Found roofing nails still to this day in yard. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy work. Also, Put new drip edging over the old, instead of removing old first. It Had to be redone. It was a nightmare and the owner was a total jerk and disheveled. I wouldn't recommend these people if they offered me a free roof and a cruise vacation. Stay away from them!!! He hires cheap and unskilled workers and does crap work.

Positives: Pro-Tech's representative was refreshingly pleasant to deal with after an unhappy experience with one of his competitors, Company X. He did not use high pressure or gimmicks, did not knock other companies, and was patient in answering questions, even making an extra house call. On checking, it was found that he had calculated the roof area correctly at 17 squares, not 21 squares like Company X's, whose representative did not even go up on the roof . The four, and sometimes five, men who were sent worked very hard and were not seen standing about doing nothing. The workers were polite and friendly. The siding, garden, and porches were protected from falling roofing materials. The debris was cleaned up carefully. All the tasks were performed as agreed in the contract. The workmanship seems to justify the 10-year labor warranty given in the contract. Negative: Missing material, bad weather, and an unavoidable late start meant that the job was not completed as expected in one day. This did not present a problem for the homeowner.
Description of Work: On a single-story home, Pro-Tech tore off a single layer of asphalt shingles and replaced 17 squares with new shingles plus Ice Guard, felt, drip edge, and flashings.

roof snow removal

Removed the ice but in the removal of the ice they destroyed our gutter linings with claw hammer holes (along with tearing of the tabs on some of the shingles) in the liner where as when the thawing of the ice and snow on the roof drained to the gutters drained through the claw hammer holes running down behind the siding into the home starting at the ceiling on the second floor and on down the exterior wall to the first floor around the front and rear windows damaging the walls and hardwood floors and drapes. I will say have bought this home and knew when we bought it that since I'm a builder myself that it was in need of some attention and since I work a regular job also it will take some time to restore this wonderful old house to it's former beauty, but the the problem of the leaking was not an issue at the time. Have called Mr Zwiesler on several occasions and have given him the opportunity to make things right but have not seen or heard from him yet. Still waiting now since about 2wks no call no show. First time I did get a hold of him he said he would get a hold of the crew that was here and that was it and have not heard from him since. I told him I used a clear caulk to patch the holes and his reply was I wish you hadn't did that? I could not wait for the rain to start and was unknowing when he or whomever would show up to at least caulk the holes before it started to rain. Told him that the claw hammer holes where still visible and that I was a builder myself probably as long or longer than he has been. Today is 02/20/09 and still waiting . Have other information also but will not disclose here !

I liked his good communication. He was extremely professional. He went about three days over the length of time he said he would take. I was not a big negative though, because of the length of work and type of work he did. His estimate was exactly on.
Description of Work: He did a full rehab and finished an attic in my house.
