 + -1 moreI did not use the services of Mr. Morrow but when I called to arrange for services, he was quite informative with prices, what might have to be done, etc. As a matter of fact, when he suggested one method of installing a light fixture, I realized that this was something that I could do myself and I did so. Should I need to have more involved electrical work done, I would not hesitate to call Mr. Morrow based soley on our telephone conversation.

 + 1 moreI called Morry around the beginning of May. This is a very busy season for handymen, so I wasn't really expecting a quick reply. He did get back to me very quickly, and we reviewed the things I had on my list. Some, such as siding repair, the wallboard repair, and repairing the icemaker in my freezer, he told me right away that he could not do (he did give me the name and number for someone who could repair the icemaker). The rest, he and I felt were worth a trip. We scheduled it for 5/20. He arrived shortly ahead of time, step-van and all. My first impression was knowledge and competence. He immediately set to work and spent, all told, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours completing the tasks. The only thing he had to go out to purchase was one shelf for a cabinet. And he didn't charge me mileage for that trip because he said he also took lunch. I felt his price was extremely reasonable, and I liked the fact that he told me up front on the phone the things on my list that he couldn' t do. When possible, he'll give you a contact to complete those tasks. I'm in the process of drawing up my next "Morry List," as we decided to call it.
Description of Work: I had Morry to the house to complete a number of tasks which, for various reasons, I could not. He handmade a plate to replace a broken one on my hardwire garage door button which looks like he'd bought it at a store. He also replaced some half-shelves in my kitchen cabinets with full ones (God knows, I need the space), repaired an indoor clothesline (the bolts he installed can withstand about 800 lbs weight, although he did suggest that the clothesline itself might not -- therefore, please don't hang from it to prove the point)., repaired the doorknob on a hallway door thick enough that I'd never found a replacement for it, and repaired a leg on an antique halltree which my dogs broke years ago. He also took pictures of a dog-chewed living room column base to send to someone who may be able to repair it. I have no doubt that he will follow through. While he does not do plaster or wallboard repair, he was able to give me enough advice on a hole in a kitchen wall that I felt comfortable buying the supplies to do it myself. He's a fount of useful information, and he's not unwilling to share. Almost all of this work was done using supplies he carried with him on his truck. He is truly a self-sufficient handyman!

 + 2 moreHe is honest. He is fair and I got the impression that I can trust him from the beginning. For handyman it is a big deal because they are in and out of the house. He spent most of his time on one project. He felt guilty because he had list of things to do. He actually put wrong parts but he put the right parts later and he is not charging us for that because he felt it was his fault. He is descent.
Description of Work: I used Morry The Handyman for three hours to re built a shelf and cut out a hole that had water in the basement and that ended up just being a chimney. He covered it up with plaster instead of putting the chimney door over it. He opened that up to find out what the problem was and he has now given us a referral to a gentleman who is coming out next week to replace that. He helped us fix a light downstairs in the basement. He rebuilt a cabinet in the kitchen and fixed two shelves’s so that they close correctly.

There were no corners cut in the job, and his clean up afterwards was appreciated. His price quote was significantly cheaper than another I received off Angie's List. Very personable and professional.
Description of Work: I had recently ripped up up carpeting, carpet tacks and staples out of our living/ dining room. I didn't have the tools to finish the quarter round molding, and called Morry to finish the job. The job was labor only, I provided the molding.

He spent his own time buying a part that we needed. He was clean and neat in his work.. He solved problems we thought were insoluble. We would use him again.
Description of Work: 1. Repaired 2 bifold doors 2. Repaired living room window that had not opened. 3. Repaired door to custom made cabinet that had sprung a spring. 4. Fixed a pop-up in bathroom that actually needed a new part. He went various places on his own time to find the part he needed. 5. Fixed weather stripping on front door. 6. Reinstalled a drawer in a custom made unit--not an easy job.

Drilled new holes in the cabinet and the dry wall. Cut tiles 1/2 inch so the new microwave would fit and then explained the features of the new microwave. The 2 hours was fine but could have been 1 hour 1/2. But overall great work!!
Description of Work: Installed an over the range microwave. New microwave did not fit ithe the space and had to remove 1/2 inch of the tile.

 + -1 moreThe owners name is Morry Barren. He was neat and professional. He did the work well but when he first came in he we told him all the work that was needed to be done. He said he would charge me $60 just for him to come down to do the job and he said he wouldn't charge me that amount next time he came in. After he did the job, he said, he would charge me again if I asked him to come out again. But, he called back and scheduled the appointment and came in when he was supposed to come. He even called us when he was on his way.
Description of Work: We have used Morry The Handyman Company for handyman services. He put in a new shower head and a flocet.

 + 1 moreThe work was done professionally. Morry was extremely pleasant and considerate. He used booties to cover his shoes when he came in from the winter weather. Also, he was conscientious about cleaning up to the point that he offered to bring in his vacuum. I was extremely satisfied. The price was a little high considering the amount of work that was done but I would definitely use him again!
Description of Work: A door to the outside leaked cold air terribly. Morry put weather stripping and a door sweep to tighten things up. The door latch was adjusted so that the door's bolt would catch easier as well. He did a fine job. There was definitely less air leaking once he was finished.

 + 4 moreMorry is pleasant and thorough. As you can see from the variety of things he accomplished, he is a true handyman. He is not as inexpensive as some, but I certainly feel I get value for the dollars.
Description of Work: I called Morry, who I have used in the past, because during the big storm I had two doors blowing open and they would not stay closed. As has happened in the past, it took a few days for us to connect, but he responded to my calls. He leveled one door, so it would stay shut, hung two light fixtures, affixed some loose molding on a wooden step and cleared a plugged sink drain.

 + -1 moreWe really liked how Morry did this job. All we wanted is to install new garbage disposal. I picked a few providers ( A rated ) from the Angie's list and called them to get an estimate. Some of them never returned our call. Other , to our suprise, said they would "not be able to" give me an estimate without "quick pick" at what they need to work on, which would cost me another 50$ and additional time. As for Morry, we talked over the phone, he told me what model to buy, what to look at and what his service would cost ans how much time it would take. It was great to talk to the person who does the job himself and knew what I was talking about. So he came as promissed and did the job, explained what to do to prevent problems in the future. Also he answered all additional questions we had . He seemed to be very professional and honest about things he can and can not do. We will definitely use his service in the future and will recommend him to others.
