The experience was great and the O'Leary team was fantastic with recommendations and rolling with the surprises as they came. The deck had some interesting challenges where the awning overhead was not anchored in the ground but to the deck, and the deck was built "into" the brick of the house. The deck had to be removed by shearing off boards and temporary posts to hold the awning. Additionally, the deck was originally level with the back door and the vision was then 2 steps to the new patio - but the wall would then have needed work due to the way the deck was installed under the door. Plan changed to pour a step all the way up to door (hiding the wall). After deck removal, a new outline for the patio was established (deck was square, but did not want square concrete patio). Team was great with outline and patience with adjustments. Also made recommendations that I had not considered to make it better - such as a border and color scheme that turned out to be fantastic (none of which changed the price)! The team was always on time, polite and worked great together - very efficient. O'Leary's was not the lowest quote received - however Kevin's guarantee of "happiness", professionalism, and presentation of company when meeting won the day. And I am confident that the quality, speed, and results would not have been close had another company been chosen.
Description of Work: I had a deck that was in bad shape and problem with many animals living underneath. The job was to remove the deck, and pour a new concrete, stamped patio.

Contacted Kevin in April to get a quote on replacing and expanding my driveway. He was very honest and said that he was busy and would not be able to get out for 3-4 weeks. He set up an exact date and time for an appointment 4 weeks later. Much to my suprise, he called to confirm the appointment the afternoon of the day before. The day of the estimate (May 3rd), he arrived at the exact time promised. He spent time walking my site and answering all of my questions. He was very polite and explained everything to my satisfaction. I was concerned with doing such a large pour (1700+ square feet) in the heat of summer. He shared my concern and we agreed to put the job off until September. He gave me an exact date in September Two days later he emailed me a very professional proposal and a copy of his standard contract and indicated that he would contact me on August 2nd between 3 and 5 pm to walk the job again and go over any final questions/etc. He called me on August 2nd at noon to confirm the appointment at 3:00. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the appointment and it was my fault that it did not happen. As my financial situation had changed over the summer, I was not able to afford the project at this time and regrettably had to cancel. I was thorougly impressed with Kevin's advance scheduling, communication, punctuality and professionalism. I have never dealt with a contractor that made appointments weeks to months in advance and actually followed through at the exact times promised.

I sent a request for an estimate via Angie's List on 7/23/12, and waited for one week with no reply. I described my project as a sidewalk 75'x4'. My guess is that this is not a big enough project to interest this contractor.

Entire experience was excellent: from communication, quality of work, professionalism of the crew, clean-up.Kevin promptly returned my call for an estimate, scheduled appointment, called in advance on the day, arrived on time.He brought samples, listened to our goals and gave great suggestions. He set expectations about scheduling (a few weeks out), including a 'pre-construction conference' a few days before starting to review the process and confirm any late changes we might want to make. Upon acceptance, we agreed on start date and pre-con meeting date. We made a few changes at pre-con meeting.A few days prior to start date, Kevin called to confirm the date and arrival time (weather caused only a one day delay from the original date he set weeks earlier; scheduling estimates are very accurate.) Kevin and crew arrived early (7:15 AM), introductions, then performed the demolition quickly and carefully, protecting the windows and storm door glass from debris. The site was cleared, the entire job was framed, and the worksite cleaned up by about 12:30. Framing was graded to assure drainage away from house. Before leaving, Kevin advised that he would only pour next day if weather permitted, but informed us of the arrival time if they did pour. Weather allowed pouring the following day (7:30 AM crew arrived as stated and did final site prep, concrete pour started at 8 AM). Leveling and initial finishing (prior to stamping) was finished by 1 PM. Just prior to the pour, one of the crew noticed the existing driveway adjacent to the new work had shifted when our van drove over it. Some last minute adjustments to the joint were made. Also, we were advised not to drive on the adjoining driveway slab for a few days to avoid damage. Electrical access conduit was installed to allow wiring to extend to yard beyond the sidewalk. Stamping was completed.Antiquing was applied the next dry day. The final day, crew member applied the sealer applied. Total elapsed time: 5 days, including 1 rain day and 1 Sunday. Kevin called upon completion to make sure everything went well and to let him know if we had any questions.Payment was made upon job completion (size of this job did not require an up-front deposit). We will gladly use this company again when we need driveway replaced in the future.
Description of Work: Demolish and remove existing 3' wide concrete front walkway and 8'x6'concrete front porch slab; removed 2 existing small shrubs to make room for new installation; frame and pour new 4' wide walkway with 4 radius corners and 10'x6' porch slab in stamped, antique-finished concrete (simulating slate/stone); install conduit for electrical access to far side of walkway; minor repair of existing concrete pad

Working around the early spring weather, O?Leary?s crew was able to get the job done in less than a week. The workers were polite, hardworking, and cleaned up the site at the end of each day. Prior to pouring and once finished, they went over the work with us to confirm that it was as we had planned and expected. The new steps and driveway were exactly what we wanted and looked great. We have an odd support column in our garage that made things difficult but they were able to pour an excellent, smoothly finished garage floor anyway. The quality of the work is very good in terms of surface finishing of the driveway as well. Not that we expected any major shifting or cracks in the slab so soon, but, for what it?s worth, four months out and everything still looks great. The grading/slope of the driveway handles water quite well and we have noticed no problems even during heavy rainstorms. Bottom line: We are pleased with the work and I highly recommend O?Leary Concrete.
Description of Work: In March of 2012 O’Leary Concrete replaced our garage floor, driveway, and front steps. It seemed reasonable to wait at least a few months prior to writing a review to get a good feel for the quality of the work… for example, to see how the new grading handled rain water runoff and, however unlikely, to see if the slab moved or formed immediate cracks or flakes and so on. We called several concrete companies (as well as an asphalt guy) from Angie’s list for quotes. O’Leary responded promptly to my initial call, scheduled a visit, and gave us an immediate verbal quote as well as an email within a day or so. His pricing was good and just a bit under the others. Some of the other guys either didn’t supply a quote or took forever to get back to us… in fact we were still getting quotes back after we scheduled with O’Leary. The process of getting the quote and scheduling the work with O'Leary Concrete went very smoothly.

Kevin was prompt in returning phone calls, friendly, and professional. He came out to give me an estimate in early June and we were able to book the job at the beginning of July. His crew completed this job in only 3 days, which I was impressed with. The patio turned out better than I expected and you can tell it is a top of the line concrete job. I am very pleased with the installation process and with the final result! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to install a patio, driveway, pool deck, etc.
Description of Work: Kevin and his crew poured a stamped concrete patio/walkway in my backyard that measured approx. 400 square feet in size. Day 1 was spent prepping the space/digging. Day 2 was for pouring the base color concrete and stamping the decorative design. On day 3 one of his crew members layed the antiquing color and applied a high-quality sealant. They made sure to lay wood over the grass when bringing in heavy machinery, hauled all of the grass/dirt out, and cleaned up thoroughly each work day.

Everything went exactly as Kevin O'Leary told me it would. He came into a bad situation. The person I hired to do the job had been stringing me along for three-and-one-half months. I was without access to my front door the entire time. I had to get an attorney and finally fire the original contractor. I called Kevin and he took care of everything. The company came out on Wednesday and began putting everything in order. By Friday, the porch was completely finished and I could walk on it on Saturday. They returned on Monday to put in the steps and by Tuesday, I could finally go in and out of my front door and up and down the steps. Everything was done exactly as promised. I want to add that Kevin O'Leary treated me with such respect and understanding. He heard my sad tale and made sure that he informed me of everything that would happen, every step of the way. For the four days the company worked at my home, it was almost like having family take care of me. Not only does this company do splendid work, they treat their customers with respect and compassion. I cannot imagine going to any other company for my concrete needs. O'Leary Concrete rocks!
Description of Work: This company does outstanding work. My front porch needed to be completely rebuilt. They came to complete a job that was started by a very disreputable contractor--someone who took my money and never finished the job. O'Leary Concrete came on Wednesday and were finished the following Monday--a job that had been incomplete for more than three months. My porch is beautiful. They are complete professionals and aim to do a perfect job. My new porch is fantastic. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

We called O'Leary Concrete because of the large number of very positive reviews on Angie's List. Our experience was completely consistent with all those reviews. Kevin O'Leary and his entire team were prompt, professional and friendly. The new driveway looks great. The price was exactly as quoted, even though they encountered unexpected drainage issues after removing the old driveway that added half a day and some extra materials to the job. It is not by accident that this company has a backlog of several months' work of work. We would certainly be happy to do business with them again.
Description of Work: Had an existing driveway that was badly cracked over about 50 percent of the surface removed, and a new one poured.

Top notch service. Last fall we contacted Kevin O'Leary. He came at appointed time, reviewed work requested and gave a firm estimate and said we'd be scheduled early in the spring. Come spring he called to confirm we were still interested and gave us a start date and scheduled an appointment 1 week earlier to review the proposed work. He came a bit later than the appointment. I asked for a 2 foot extension to our driveway - not a problem he said. We also selected color of sidewalk from a series of photos of his work.He was delayed by weather a day, but crew did their work on time except for a few hours of rain delays. His crew took care to minimize damage to grass and bushes. He kindly put down plywood sheets from our front door to street so wife and kids didn't have to track mud and dirt. Cleaned up every night. Wife said they were extremely polite and courteous. Neighbors were generally happy except that one concrete truck guy washed his truck out in front of neighbor's lawn - Kevin offered to clean it up when he found out about it. Resulting driveway was perfect! Sidewalk is beautiful! Price was as agreed. I'm happy
Description of Work: Replace entire driveway and sidewalk, add curbs, install drains in front of double garage door and at end of driveway and incorporate gutter drains and stamp and color sidewalk. Required removal of existing driveway and sidewalk. Our home is at end of cul-de-sac so getting trucks in/out was difficult - required Bobcat to shuttle concrete. DIveway is bounded by house and 4' retaining wall, thus required more time to lay concrete since they could only access via ends, not much on sides.

Kevin and his crew of three formed, poured and stamped concrete over an existing porch and steps (12). It took two full days to form the steps and the craftsmanship was at an extremely high level. The pour itself and stamping was one more day, then the coloring was another day. Total 4 full days of work. All work was done to exceptional standards. No short-cuts were taken. I wouldn't consider another company for any future work - it's Kevin O'Leary or no one!
Description of Work: This was a full pour over an existing porch and steps which were in a deteriorating state. Kevin and his crew removed the broken/crumbling cement steps (jack hammered and removed until they had a solid base of existing material). Formed the 12 steps and coping wall (2 full days). Work was peformed by Kevin and his guys who knew what they were doing. His crew was fully experienced in this work. Poured new porch pad, steps and coping wall, then stamped and colored the cement. It looks awesome!

Our front porch began to drop a couple years ago after the drought and was pulling the front door frame away from the house. We called Kevin on a weekend to take a look, and he was promptly there the following Monday. We had called one other company, whose quote was about the same, but decided to go with Kevin based on the Angies List rating - we couldn't be happier with the choice. Kevin was courteous and consultative, and once we agreed to go with him, he was able to quickly schedule time for the work to be done [fitting us in quicker than originally estimated]. The crew arrived on time, was not disruptive at all, and completed the entire job in basically 3 days. What was really nice is that they seemed to take extra care in not damaging any of the plants/grass around the walkway and were great about cleaning up the site. Ultimately, the result and the whole experience could not have gone better, and I will not hesitate to recommend Kevin and crew to others.
Description of Work: We had our front porch and walkway completely replaced. They completely removed the old porch/front stoop and walkway [50+ feet], prepped, and poured new. Completed front porch is 7'x4' and walkway was expanded to 4' wide.

I called O'Leary Concrete and several others to get quotes for the above work. Kevin was quick to respond and was able to come by and give me a quote within a day. His quote was very fair (and within my budget) compared to the others but Kevin was OUTSTANDING in helping us think about all the options like stamping and staining that we had not even considered to make the walkway to our pool look outstanding! His crew was right on time. They were friendly, polite and courteous. Their workmanship exceeded my very high expectations that I got from his other reviews. It turned out so well that I and having them come back out to stain and seal my pool deck! Stop looking around for a concrete guy....O'Leary Concrete/Kevin is your clear choice.
Description of Work: They removed and prepped a gravel walk path. Then they poured, stamped and colored a concert walkway. They also repaired some existing concert and repoured, stamped and staining that area as well.

Both areas were dug, formed, gravel applied and rebar installed in one day. Due to rain the pouring of the concrete was delayed one day. On the third day all concrete was poured and finished. They matched my existing concrete pattern and edging perfectly. They took all the dirt that was removed in the concrete areas and spread it out in a low spot in my property. Their clean up was great and except for the new concrete, you would not know they were there. All of O'Leary's personnel were polite and professional. Also a follow call was received from Kevin O'Leary making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Good price too!

From the start Kevin was very responsive and forthcoming about the process and his schedule. I was kept informed during the entire process. I contacted Kevin at the beginning of August expressing an interest in a concrete patio to replace my existing deck. Kevin responded promptly to my email with a phone call to set up an appt to meet. He explained that his schedule wouldn't permit the work to be done immediately but pending the weather it could be done in the fall or spring. These dates worked for us so we moved forward. Kevin came out to the house and we got straight to work. He assessed the project and scope of work. He explained in detail the timeline to remove the deck, prep for the concrete pour, the stamping, staining and sealing. He brought with him a portfolio of his work and a brochure of colors that could be used on the concrete. From that meeting I received a quote detailing our discussion which allowed for extension of patio size after the work began. Rain pushed back the scheduled start of the work but Kevin kept me well informed of his schedule. On the day the work began Kevin and his crew showed up on time and ready to work. They made quick work of taking down the deck and hauling it off. As a result of the poor installation of the deck there was some damage that had to be cleared up. Kevin made sure to keep me in the loop of his findings as the deck was dismantled. We had some grading issues that pushed the water to the foundation. Kevin took this into consideration when it came time to dig for the patio. He used the dirt to level off the ground near the patio so we would have water run off the patio toward the yard instead of toward the foundation or standing on the concrete. Kevin was patient and worked with us at this point on the actual design and size of the patio making sure that we were happy with it before the concrete was poured. He has great ideas and is very patient during this decision making process. On the day the concrete was poured Kevin and his team showed up early and got right to work. The concrete truck didn't fit in the driveway so the concrete had to be carted in smaller loads. The work went quickly and in no time the patio was poured, stamped and color was added. Kevin and his team came back out on a Sunday morning to finish the work with a coat of sealant. We found the smell from the sealant to be quite strong. Kevin has a great working relationship with is team and they worked very hard to make sure that our patio was perfect and met our expectations. He was patient during every design decision including the step that had to be created out the back door. Overall I am extremely happy with the work and I LOVE my Patio. We will definitely use O'Leary Concrete for any future concrete work. OUTSTANDING!!
Description of Work: O'Leary was contracted to remove the existing 20X20 deck including framing and footers. The deck was replaced with a concrete stamped and stained patio.

Kevin O'Leary answered my first phone call, and promptly scheduled an appointment to look at the job. He gave me a quote on the spot, which was reasonable. Once we agreed, he quickly scheduled a time to do the work, which was important given the lateness of the season. His guys arrived when he said they would, and worked through some less than perfect weather. They were very knowledgeable and courteous. They and Kevin both communicated throughout the process to make sure we were all on the same page and we were getting what we wanted. The entire job was completed in about 3 days, as he had estimated. They cleaned up the site well, and their work looks great. The only detail for which I give them less than a perfect mark is that the forms for the large steps bowed during the pour, the result being the risers have a slight curvature. With these steps being so large, this was a lot of concrete, and the force against these forms was tremendous. Although they seemed adequately braced, they still bowed. This is a minor detail to us, and otherwise the quality of their work was great. Kevin and his crew should be congratulated for their customer service. In my experience in the building trades, this is a rare commodity.
Description of Work: Replaced two sets of concrete steps from front porch to street level, and the walkway connecting the two. The stairs from the porch are 11 feet wide x 6 risers, the walkway narrows from 11' to 4' wide x 10' long, the second stairs are 4' wide x 8 risers to the street sidewalk.

The process was exceptionally well managed. Kevin O'Leary is a high energy, very focused young man who has a keen eye toward providing a quality product. We were fortunate to get an accelerated date for construction and were the beneficiaries of fantastic autumn weather the week the project was started. Kevin originally estimated completion in five days but the job was finished entirely in only four. His crew is hard working, friendly, and responsive. They clearly know what they are doing and have bought in to the drive of Kevin to do the best job possible. I liked the fact that Kevin, as the owner of the business, was on the job sight working right alongside his crew. No chance that anything is going to be missed when the owner of the business is this hands on. I also took it as a good sign of the successfulness of his business when he originally quoted me a four month lead time to do the job. How many businesses can say they have that kind of backlog at present? I called on Kevin because of the previous postings on Angie's List and I was not disappointed in any way. Are there vendors who will do the work for less? Probably, but price is not the only issue when spending a decent amount of money on a capital improvement to a home. Kevin's reputation is well earned, and very much deserved, and clearly, I would use his services again in a heartbeat, and likely will when it comes to replacing my deck with a new concrete patio.
Description of Work: Replaced the original driveway and front walk at my house (26 years old), and expanded the size of the driveway to accomodate additional vehicles. Additionally, installed decorative paver stones as a border to visually tie the driveway to the brick on the house. Because the driveway extends from the side of the house, which is on a corner lot, there is a lot of visibility, and despite the fact that I now have a bigger driveway than before, it looks infinitely better and more finished than it ever did previously. The job involved tearing out the existing driveway, including the old basketball goal, excavating the extra area for new concrete, and then pouring the new driveway and setting the foundation for the border to place the new paver stones.

As noted above - Kevin did a great job and I would use this company again without any hesitation
Description of Work: Kevin did my driveway last year. Over the winter I noticed flaking and cracking. I called him and explained my problem. Kevin came over immediately and over the next few days accessed the problem. He told me it was bad concrete and would make everything right. Which he did. As soon as the weather broke Kevin replaced it and it looks great. You learn alot about a company when things are not perfect. He made sure the concrete people knew he had gotten a bad product (which happens) but did not make it my problem. I knew Kevin was going to handle this properly and he did. I would highly recommend him and his crew. This is how it should work. A very honorable company

We were impressed with Kevin from the first time we met him as he arrived on time and told us exactly what he was going to do. He sent a complete description of what would be done along with his formal contract. I kept in touch with Kevin over the summer to see if he was staying on schedule as we had a roofing job to be done around the same time. Kevin said he would be here no more than two days beyond his original scheduled date and he was. Kevin arrived with his crew, Joe and Dan, on Wednesday and started the form installation. This include using a jackhammer to remove the existing concrete sidewalk up to the porch. We had an appointment that took us away for about three hours and when we returned the form was finished, the driveway and patio power washed and all the left over lumber and broken concrete removed. The next day was most impressive. The concrete was delivered and placed in the form. Kevin had to leave to work on another project leaving Joe and Ray to complete the work. They leveled and smoothed the concrete surfaces. After the concrete had set enough, Joe spread a premixed mixture of color pigment and cement by hand over all the surfaces. This was then worked into the surface with both trowels and a float. The color powder was then spread and worked in a second time to ensure a uniform color. Then when the concrete had set enough to support their weight, Joe and Ray placed rubber mats, which had the surface pattern we had selected, on top of the concrete. Then by hand slapping or with a stamping tool transferred the pattern from the rubber sheets to the concrete. This was not easy as the rubber sheets were very heavy. Joe made sure that the surface pattern was correct, going back over the concrete several times too get a good blend of the pattern. Then when the concrete has sufficient strength but not fully set, they removed the forms from the sides of the porch and sidewalk. They made a thick slurry of the color pigment mix with water and troweled the into the side surfaces. Smaller rubber mats were placed against these surfaces and the same pattern impressed into the colored surface. After all the surfaces had been impressed, they again picked up and removed all their equipment. They next removed all dirt that had gotten onto the previously cleaned driveway and hand rolled on a sealer. On the third day, Kevin returned with Dan and added a second colored pigment liquid mixture to the already fully hardened concrete surface. This color mixture collected in the grooves and recesses that had been impressed into the surface. When this was dry, they rolled on a sealer which made the second color much more visible. Both my wife and I were so pleased with the final results. Kevin and Joe removed all their remaining equipment and even raked the lawn where the grass had been tamped down during the construction process. At all times during the work, all the workers were very courteous and most eager to answer any questions. I really enjoyed having them here and the excellent work they did.
Description of Work: The concrete front porch on our 40 year old house has always had an improper slope to it such that after every heavy rain I had to sweep an inch of water off. After sweeping it at least 30 times this Spring we decided this was enough. We decided on a stamped concrete overlay as a means to both resolve the drainage problem and improve the appearance of the porch. Through Angies List I found several concrete contractors with good reputations but only one that was also recommended by the manufacturer of the overlay product (Brickform) and this was O'Leary concrete. I contacted Kevin O'Leary and made an appointment with him to look at what we wanted done. Kevin arrived at the appointed time and told us what he could do, the price and an estimate of when he could start (three months later). Kevin's crew arrived two days later than the estimated date made three months earlier which amazed me considering the weather problems that restrict outside project work. The project took three days. On the first day they set up the forms and reinforcing bars. On the second day the concrete was poured, followed by working color pigment into the surface and stamping our selected pattern into the colored surface. After the concrete had set enough, the forms were removed, color pigment worked into the exposed sides and this surface also stamped. On the third day a high-lighting color was added and a sealer applied. We were very pleased with the finished porch, it is exactly what we wanted. The side walk leading up to the porch was also replaced with the same stamped concrete finish along with a new step up to the porch. Kevin also power washed and sealed our drive way and power washed our brick patio. We were especially pleased with the rejuvenation of the patio.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and dedication of Kevin, the owner. This spring was so rainy that it was difficult to schedule work. Kevin was great at keeping you informed. Once on the job, he and his crew arrived early and worked until it was done. They were all very courteous and professional. They also put an extra line down each side of the driveway and a slight curve at the bottom. Kevin is proud of the work he does and it shows. I recommend him very highly.
Description of Work: My old, sunken, and uneven driveway was replaced with a beautiful, structurally reinforced driveway by Kevin O'Leary and his crew of O'Leary Concrete. They also sealed the driveway at a later date.

Kevin O'leary met with my wife and I in October of 2010. Kevin inspected the area where we wanted to remove our existing front porch and put in a new stamped concrete front porch. Kevin showed us his portfolio of jobs he had successfully completed. Kevin also laid out what he thought would look the best in the area. Since it was October and I did not want to pour concrete in the colder weather we decided to wait until spring time to have the work done. Beginning of April 2011 Kevin followed up with a phone call to ask me if we were ready to have the work done. I said yes and kevin scheduled to come out and review the project again with my wife and I. Kevin was very helpful in the design and color choice. Once we settled on the design and color we scheduled the work to be done in the beginning of May. Kevin and his crew did a excellent job. They were very punctual, proffesional and neat. They cleaned up very well everyday before leaving for the day. I have received numerous complements on how nice my new porch adn landing area looks. I would recommend O'Leary concrete to anyone who needs concrete work done. Kevin is very easy to work with and will stand behind his work. In the near future we are going to have Kevin come back and put in a new back patio for us.
Description of Work: Remove old 3 tier wood front porch and put in a new stamped concrete Front Porch with 2 large rounded steps going out to a small landing area adjacent to the driveway.

In April of 2011 we contacted Kevin to quote us for a stamped concreate patio. Kevin showed up on time for this appointment. After meeting with him and discussing what we wanted done, including concerns that I had about the product and process, we contracted with Kevin to start the 3 day project June 9th. Due to weather conditions, Kevin started the project the end of June. We were very appreciative of Kevin's professionalism, He kept us informed of his schedule and the delays due to weather. Kevin's crew showed up on time and started right to work. They placed plywood sheets over the yard to prevent damaging the grass. They completed the prep work and returned the next day to pour and stamp the concreate. The installation went without problems. Kevin and his crew were wonderful to work with and I highly recommend his services.
Description of Work: We contracted Oleary Concreate to install a 500 sq/ft. stamped concreate patio in our backyard.
