The whole experience with Liberty Window and the company they subcontracted with for the window installation (Advanced Window Installation, also known as Advanced Window & Siding) was the worst consumer experience we have ever had in over 30 years of marriage. I do not have room here to detail all the manufacturing, measuring and installation errors that were made. We had 16 double hung (32 sashes) windows put in and there were manufacturing and installation errors in EVERY WINDOW. Some installation errors were so bad, like screwing into the manufacturer's welds, that we had to ask for complete replacements. Our new vinyl siding was damaged in several places. The list of problems takes more than a full page to itemize! We attempted to work with the companies involved to rectify all the issues, but they were unwilling to cooperate in good faith and to our satisfaction. The manufacturer of the windows finally took care of all the problems after we contacted them after us fighting with Advanced and Liberty for over a year. When the windows and the installation were finally rectified we gained about 2 additional inches of actual glass in each window because they were now measured and installed properly. It took Advanced WIndow about 8 man hours to originally install the windows so poorly. The company who did the re-install spent 32 man hours doing the job right! I think that says it all. Although errors were made by all the companies involved, we hold Liberty Window primarily responsible because they were the company we contracted with and sent our hard earned money to.

Overall the experience was great. The salesman, Tom Kohnen was very easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions I had. There were no high pressure sales tactics or any "special prices if you sign today" like we saw with other window companies in the area. The pricing is the same regardless of what day you call or who you talk to, so you don't have to worry about getting the salesman that will get you the best price. The quotes are very detailed and Tom makes sure the windows that get ordered are what you want. After placing the order, the windows arrived at Liberty in a week and were installed that weekend. The installer (Elden, I believe) was the same person that Liberty had sent over to take the official measurements. He explained to me all the work they would be doing and why they did it that way. They arrived right on time and were sure to put down drop cloths anytime they were working inside our house. They cleaned up everything and checked with us to make sure we were satisfied they had everything cleaned up before they left. They pointed out one small nick they had put in the drywall during the installation, which was expected with the nature of the work. It was nice that they cared enough to point it out instead of trying to hide it. The installation took about 6 hours and they worked through the cold and rain to install our windows, all without making a mess. The windows look great and are a huge improvement over our old aluminum windows. I would recommend Liberty Window to anyone. We will be replacing the rest of our windows soon and will definitely be going back to Liberty.
