Linger's Lumberjacks

We had gotten several estimates, and Linger's price was very fair. Several of the companies who looked at the trees - one near electric wires, two by our driveway in the woods - seemed leery. "This is a risky job." Nelson took it all instride, told us exactly how he would perform the work, using a crane and OSHA trained crew. His crew came and did the job with no hesitation, and with obvious attention to safety for the workers and our property. They trimmed out the tops and laid them all right where they (and we) wanted them, Took down the trunks and piled everything out of the way, but accessible, for my husband to cut up (our choice to save money). It was a symphony in motion and a joy to watch them work.

This is the second time I used them because I was totally impressed by the quality of work they did. We had three huge trees. They were there at 8:00 am and done by noon. They had two trucks and a lot of men and got it done.

I had a big deal but it seemed like price was over inflated to begin with. That way after so called big deal price was brought to what other companies would charge, only more. Yard was left with some dead branches I still need to clean up and big ruts in my front side yard from the truck. The last company used planks they put down to protect the yard from the truck tires. Next time I will wait until the other company has time to do it. Company called me am offered refund so I feel satisfied' He also explained I had signed a page that his company may leave some damage to my yard with the truck. My fault for not reading it.

Mr. Linger and his crew were very efficient and professional. He called Monday to inform me he would be here Tuesday. Although I was not here, my neighbor informed me they came in and completed everything in less than 4 hours. I was very impressed when I returned home.

These guys were awesome! Nelson , the owner, returned my call within 10 minutes. He came out the next day with a reasonable estimate and arranged the work to take place within a month. Two other companies never even responded to my phone call. One other responded but never showed up. Linger's lumberjacks came out on a miserable, cold and rainy Saturday and within 3 hours had all the trees removed and hauled away. They were very polite and professional. The stumps were ground out the following Monday. They cleaned up all the left over branches, leaves and dirt. A great company with a super work ethic!

These guys were great! I bought one of the Angie's List deals. Even without the deal Linger's was a lot cheaper than other companies would have charged for the same work. (I have rental properties so I've hired other tree service companies.) The guys who came out to do the work were amazing. One of them even cleaned up the yard after my dog so that poo wouldn't get on the branches going through their chipper. Another thing I liked is that the company sent a whole crew out to do the work. Considering the size of the trees being worked on this was a dangerous job but I had a similar size tree taken out at one of my rental properties and the company only sent one person to do the work. Having a crew helping made the work much safer because someone was on the ground giving directions related to what branches needed trimmed and another guy was managing the safety ropes for the guy in the tree's harness. Overall, Linger Lumberjacks was far more professional than other tree service companies.

Wonderful experience. Very professional, efficient and friendly. Will definitely use again. Just one mishap - a few of the large logs rolled down a hill and crashed through one rail of our split-rail fence. We did not notice the damage until after they had left.

It starts with Nelson Linger. He is responsive and efficient. He came out to walk the property with me ? twice. He helped identify problems with our foliage, suggested fixes and gave an estimate. He answered questions. The company is fully insured, bonded, workmen's comped, etc ? this is important for such a perilous occupation. The crew brought an impressive array of equipment, were punctual and immediately set to work. There was not fooling around with these guys. They know what they're doing as trees big and small came down without mishap. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the spring as our ash problem is the gift that keeps on giving. I sought estimates from four tree service companies. I left messages with three of them and only one called back, a week later. The fourth one I contacted was Linger's Lumberjacks. To my surprise a real person answered. It was Nelson Linger. He came out the next day at the time he said he would and provided an estimate. He explained in detail how the job would be done. I have had trees removed in the past so I knew the price he quoted was fair. I was not home when the trees were removed so I can not comment on the crew. But I will say this. If not for the fact the trees were gone when I arrived home, I would not have known they were there. Everything had been completely cleaned up and only the stumps remained. A few days later the stumps were ground. I am very pleased with the service provided.

Nelson Linger arrived on schedule for the estimate. He was 100% business, almost to the point of being brusque, but that's OK with me. The walkaround went quickly, no time wasted, with no attempt to "pad" the job. His estimate was prompt and well detailed, item by item, so we could trim the budget if necessary. I was impressed by the professionalism, and think tjat Linger's would have done a fine job. However, in terms of cost-to-service ratio, the estimate was by a considerable margin the highest we received. In the end, we chose another provider.

First class tree company, came in when they said and were done within 4 1/2 hrs, and cleaned up everything after. Then a few days later the tree stump person came and took out all the stumps. All the men were very courteous and friendly. We asked them for two of the dead limbs for firewood and they even cut that up for us. We had a huge pile of branch clippings that we had and they also took them and chipped them up.

It was good. They brought about four or five people. Then they were done, they raked my backyard with all the branches that they cut off. They covered the entire yard; they raked all over the place. They cleaned up very good.

The guys were very professional and courteous. Stayed with the job until it was finished. Would and will use Linger's Lumberjacks again!

First Nelson came out very quickly once I asked for an estimate. I believe it was 2-3 days after I called. He gave me the 700 dollar estimate and I immediately scheduled the services because it was a great price. Even though it wasn't a huge job Nelson made sure he did a thorough evaluation. A few weeks later I received a call from the supervisor and his crew that they were on their way out to do the job. 2 hours later the job was completed and my trees looked 10x nicer then before.... I was so happy with the results that I tipped the guys so they could buy lunch the next day on me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing tree service. I plan on scheduling Linger's Lumberjacks to come out to my brothers house and clean up his monstrosity of a tree as well. Great work and thank you!

Absolutely superb service and price. This was a very big job with numerous very large trees jeopardizing the house and barn. They were quick, efficient and very professional. Not a twig was left when they were done. I cant give them a high enough rating. I will use them again and again. Thanks for the outstanding work.

I was not at home at the time but there was someone here to let the workers in the backyard. they were very professional .they did what we had agreed on. they did the cleanup and hauled away the debris.

It all went GREAT. The crew arrived in the time frame I was given. Before they started, I spoke with Chris who was in charge to review what was going to be done. He was extremely helpful and professional and friendly as were all of his crew. He was also a very skilled climber and clearly was very skilled at this type of work (24 yrs experience) which is clearly both hard work and an art keeping a hug, old tree properly balanced for both the health of the tree and its appearance. They used a bucket truck as well as climbing. I watched a lot of the work - it was very interesting. I could also tell that each person was very clear about their job and the team worked well together. When they were almost done Chris and I spoke about doing a couple more things that I felt I wanted. The outcome was excellent. The tree looks very balanced and is free of dead branches and limbs and having raised the canopy it looked much better in general. Also, they "thinned" out the center in order to allow the wind to pass through the tree instead of the tree being like a thick wall of leaves creating a potential hazard in a big storm. I was also very pleased that they removed the additional shrub & tree. Last but not least, they did an EXCELLENT job cleaning up! They were nice enough to remove some limbs and branches I had cut down, which I had sitting in my back yard "waiting" for me to cut them up, which is very hard for me and the reason they were still in my back yard. I feel that my yard looked SO much better after they finished, both because of the trimming and the excellent cleanup! I appreciate everyone's effort to clean up my yard. It was a big job, but they did it very quickly. Even the man in the bucket truck made a point of removing a larger branch from my roof that was difficult to get to. And I was very happy that I was able to use the 10% off Angie's List coupon because my job was over $500. I felt that the fees they charged me were very fair and competitive. I felt confident about this company when I first got my written estimate from Nelson Linger. He explained things to me and reviewed the qualifications and training of his crews. Even though it took a little longer to get the job done than I had expected, I'm glad I used this company. I feel that it's better to use a company which is busy with a lot of jobs than to get something done faster by a less experienced company. I definitely got what I was hoping for! I will use them again when I need other tree work. I feel MUCH better having my tree properly maintained. It LOOKS better and is SAFER as well.

Nelson was very responsive and courteous when I initially called for a quote and came out within a few days of calling, according to my schedule. We then set up a Saturday appointment to have the work done - which I really appreciated. A team of 5, headed by Todd, came out this morning. Todd went over with me what work needed to be done. The guys immediately went to work and were completed and had all the areas cleaned up in a little over an hour's time. They all were very nice and courteous. A group of small branches I had placed by the house were even picked up and removed.....appreciated that too!

Nelson is very professional and polite. I am so impressed with the work his company did, especially because I told them exactly how far down I wanted to stumps ground and I wanted all the debris removed. They did exactly as I asked! I would definitely refer them.

Mr Nelson Linger arrived looked at the tree I need removed. He gave me an estimate of 1850.00 I was sticker shocked and said to him oh wow i cant afford that and offered the paper back. He then raised his voice and said JUST THROW IT IN THE TRASH! While walking back to his truck. I said did you have a bad day! He then turned and said as a matter of fact i did. Only after i said I am sure Angie's List will like to hear how rude you are. Then and only then did he half heartedly apologize. I am a care giver to several disabled persons and i told him IF I could afford it I would. So it should not have been a reason to get extremly rude. I am shocked of such nasty treatment by one of the owners. I will inform everyone i come in contact with to stick with a level headed business owners. It hardly seems safe to have a hot headed person cutting down a tree near ones home.

I wasn't home when Nelson's crew arrived, but my neighbors told me it was a huge production. We had 3 huge trees near the house, and 10 trees near the back of the property removed. The work was excellent. They also ground out the stumps near the house and removed the debris. Nelson came out later that day and walked the property with me to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. The crew mistakenly removed some chopped wood we had, and Nelson is delivering chopped wood to replace it. I have even used him a second time since then to remove some dead shrubbery near the house. He is very responsive and gets back to answer any questions very quickly. I would not hesitate to use Linger's again- this is a top-notch company.

I highly recommend Linger's Lumberjack's. We were getting ready to put a fence up in our backyard and needed to have several trees cut down. They came out on a Tuesday to give us a free estimate. We agreed to have seven dead trees removed and have two others trimmed back. Since the fence people were coming on Thursday, they graciously came out the next day to complete the job. They were prompt, professional and very reasonable. We will not hesitate to use them again.

They showed up with a crew of 5 guys and after a short walkthrough with Todd, the crew foreman, to verify the work I wanted done, they got right to work. One of them started by hoisting himself (with a little help) up the big oak and began cleaning it up, which took him the entire time they were there, which was unsurprising considering the amount of work it needed. Another made short work of felling some the smaller trees while others gathered and chipped the branches. These guys were professional and personable, and I was very happy to see how quickly the got stuff done. All in all they were there about 2 and a half hours, working the entire time with the exception of a much-needed re-hydration break. During their work one of my neighbors stopped by as he was driving by and asked about what I was having done. I explained to him the work and the cost, both of which I was very pleased with, and highly recommended he use Linger's if he needed similar work done on his property. I would recommend these guys at the drop of a hat. Everyone on this crew should get a raise!

Linger's Lumberjacks was very good. They did a good job. They did what they said they were going to do and did it for a fair price. The pricing was excellent and the quality was good.
