Description of Work: Serviced furnace and humidifier. They arrived as scheduled and did a complete heating system cleaning and testing. I've used them for installation and service in the past and recommended them to family and friends. Renewed the maintenance plan at this time on the complete system. Good company to work with.

Description of Work: They installed a new furnace almost 5 years ago when we purchased this house. Since then they have serviced it and the air conditioner. Twice the air conditioner required new parts and repair. Charges were reasonable. They were always on time, did a great job and left the areas work in clean condition.

Description of Work: First person came to fix furnace and couldn't tell me what was wrong. I had even figured that out. But it ran after he opened and closed it back up. He then turned into sales man and I fell for it. | |Got a second opinion next day. My hunch was right. | |Had paid for fall inspection is let service guy take a look. At least this one was a service man and not a sales man. | |First experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I will not be using them again as want a service guy not a salesman at my door.

Ran new wiring to washer/dryer outlets and upgraded outlets. |The technician worked 15 hours over 2 days in cold rainy conditions. We have older home that was still using a fuse box panel. The upgrade was long over due and our house is much safer.

And the companies I've seen advertising since also included the dryer vent cleaning and I don't believe they did this. |The above cost didn't include the duck cleaning.

Description of Work: I recently sold my house and needed to get some electrical work done on it before I move out. I called Blind and Sons and made an appointment for an electrician to come out and make the repairs. I was told that I would be a first available appointment so I had to be at home all day for when they called. I took a day off of work for the appointment since it would be a few weeks before a Saturday appointment was available and I didn't have that kind of time. Today I waited at my house for the technician to arrive. Late in the morning, I called Blind and Sons and they told me that the technician was in my area and when they were done with their current job, I would be next. The next thing I new, it was almost 4 pm and no technician. I called Blind and Sons again and they told me that my appointment was canceled for the day. They moved my appointment to 7/27 and assumed I was going to be home for it without even calling me to ask if that was ok. When I told them that I took a day off for this appointment, they didn't care and didn't even try to make it up to me at all. They didn't even apologize for having to cancel the appointment. The women on the phone was very rude and didn't care that I was inconvenienced and lost a vacation day because of it. Now I have lost a day of work and have to start my search all over again for an electrician. I WILL NEVER use Blind and Sons again. Apparently, this happens regularly, but they don't advertise it. I don't understand how they can still be in business when they have policies like this in place!

Description of Work: Having found water adjacent to my hot water heater, I presumed I had a leak. Called Blind (the original installers of the tank in 2007). A plumber came out in a timely manner. He spent minimal time checking the unit, told me there was a valve on it that was out of code and proceeded to replace that valve. He told me that should take care of the problem but, if the leak recurred, call the company again. The next day there was new standing water at the base of the of the hot water heater. When I called Blind I was told that I'd have to pay for a new service call plus any additional costs associated with the repair. I essentially told them to shove it and called a different company. The plumber from that company presumed nothing and spent half an hour checking anything that could possibly leak. He discovered the leak was coming from a pinhole in one of the humidifier copper tubes and proceeded to repair that leak. Overall cost was less than Blind's. Given the twin circumstances of a misdiagnosis and a failure to stand up to substandard work, I would rate Blind very poorly. If asked in the future I will volunteer my experiences with Blind and Sons and recommend that they not be used.
