I bought the 35.00 deal because I lost power to a electrical outlet that my Christmas tree was plugged into, I thought he could tell me what was wrong and give me a idea on what was needed to fix it, he said they have a flat rate to fix the problem and that was 450.00. I know I can get a better quote then that so I passed. ,

They were not able to come out due to being overbooked for holidays

This company was hired to do plumbing work for our mother. The first work they did was a simple clearing of a kitchen drain, which was handled competently and professionally, by a very courteous worker. He charged Blind & Company's advertised price ($99) and all went well. Because of that experience, my mother called them back for a more complex job, which involved cleaning out the pipes between the house and the street. Blind & Sons scheduled someone to come out to assess the situation; my mother expected it to be the same person who did her sink, but it was a new person. This man came but didn't have the proper equipment. He said he'd send someone else, and so she had to wait several days for yet a third person, a man who I will call "#3." #3 went into her basement to put a camera into her pipes to assess the situation. #3 told her there was no reason for her to come down with him, and since she has some mobility issues, she agreed. He stayed in the basement for some time, then came upstairs and presented a film that reportedly showed her crushed copper pipes. He told her they would have to rip up her entire front yard to fix the damage. #3 quoted a price of over $900.00 to do that work. She was surprised: her house was built in the early '80's, and she didn't think it had copper pipes, but #3 told her a story about how copper pipes were used then for a brief period of time, especially in this part of town. Wisely, she called another plumber (American Plumbing) to get another estimate. Because of the earlier experience, my brother-in-law joined the new plumber in the basement when he did a similar camera inspection. The result? The American Plumber's film, which was done with a family witness, confirmed the fact that my mother does not have any copper pipes, and there was not even half the damage that from Blind and Sons claimed she had. Of course, she did not hire Blind for that work. However, Blind's #3 continued to call and harass her for several weeks. And that is why I opt not to name him. Blind & Sons may be great for simple, one time jobs, but our experience shows that there are some people within this organization who have no trouble lying and abusing seemingly vulnerable people. (As far as we know, #3 still works for the company.) Everything about this experience seemed like a scam, and I would suggest that you not even consider this company.

It's a very good company. They did an excellent job. It was a good installation.

Mike (tech) came out within the hour and diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed the problem even quicker.....Awesome service....great person....very fair price...we have heat again!

We've been using the company for several years, and we've been very happy. They always respond quickly to any issues, their technicians are always professional, and they consistently do good work.

They did a professional job. I have had no leaks and everything functions the way it is supposed to.

on time , reasonable installation time , I was the second man working so it saved me a $100 or so.

They switched the outlet and honored their coupon. I knew from the minute they arrived, however, that upselling was their goal. I can't blame them for that, but I had to be ready to say no to three different offers before he left.

I have a service agreement with Blind and Sons which covers maintenance on my furnace and air conditioning unit. Plus I get a discount for any other services I need. Great company! Every technician who has come out has been professional and done a great job!

Went great. Mike Dee was the service technician -- he showed up a couple of minutes early for our 8:00 appointment. He thoroughly checked and cleaned the furnace & replaced the humidifier filter. He said that our furnace filter was good for a couple of more months & that we could wait until April to replace it when he services the a/c. This is the second time Mike has been our technician--what I really like about him is that he doesn't try to sell you something if you don't need it. Previously, another service technician had told us we needed to replace the blower motor on the furnace..because it was starting to get a little noisy and we sure didn't want it to go out on a really cold day and leave us without heat. That was a couple of years ago. Mike has told us both times he's been here that the motor is starting to get a little noisy but is performing okay--and it wasn't necessary to replace it at this time. He is trustworthy, prompt, polite, and does an excellent job. Blind & Sons is very fortunate to have him as an employee.

STARTED OUT WITH EXPLAINATION AND THEN WENT ROOM TO ROOM GETTING THE LAY OUT OF MY HOUSE. COVERED ALL VENTS AND CLEANED OUT DUCTWORK STARTING A TOP OF HOUSE AND WORKING THEIR WAY DOWNSTAIRS.

Great experience we would not hesitate to use them again. Adam and Steve were very knowledgeable and informative. They gave us information about the overall air duct cleaning. They were very professional, prompt and covered their shoes to protect our floors. When they were finished they talk to us about our furnace ( it will need to read be replaced in the next year or so). They also gave us information about the furnaces that they offer and the differences in the efficiency of furnaces. It was extremely helpful and will help us to make a better decision when we buy a new furnace down the road.

Called to schedule and they said only choices were 8:00am or some time later in day. They called at 4:00pm to say that they would not make it and could not come till next Friday. After some questioning on my part, they said I had to schedule for first appointment of day at 8:00am, or it would be "next available technician." If I did not take 8:00am, they could not guarantee that they would get there later in the day if all their jobs ran over and no one were available. I scheduled for 8:00am and they were right on time in spite of a snow storm. Tech was clean cut, mannerly and efficient. As a caution, they do a very low key sales pitch looking for more work. My systems are in good shape, so there was no other work necessary. Angie's Big Deal was for $35.00 to replace an electric switch or outlet. Since it was a three way dimmer switch, I new it would be more. They would not give a ball park estimate over the phone. As a note, Blind had a $29.00 coupon on their web site for same work. Probably would not use again due to scheduling process they do and unwillingness to give a "ball park" range of cost up front

They were extremely professional and timely. They also did duct cleaning and did a wonderful job with that. Trane furnaces are known to be a little more expensive I think than some of the others. It's probably on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. I would recommend them. The product, I couldn't be more pleased. I can't hear it running. I think it's more efficient in giving me better heat at a lower register rating.

I thought they were way high too expensive. They were like three times what I paid for the guy I used. He told me that the manager would call me to negotiate the price and I had already paid the service cost because we couldn't use them because they were way too expensive. He came when he said he would come. When I complained about having paid that service call for the estimate they did give my money back, so they were fair in that sense.

I guess it went well. My electric is working in the rooms where it wasn't so I am very happy about that.

They were not honest with me. I told them 4 times that I was a mobile home and I wanted to make sure they could check thepipes under the house. He told me there was a travel fee, which was fine, but I reiterated multiple times I live in a mobile home. When he got here, he knew nothing about mobile homes and checking the water lines. He knew enough to come from around from the back and tell me it would be $45, and I was so stunned, I paid them anyway. They came under false pretenses. I told them so many times I live in a mobile home, and the person they sent to my home knew nothing about mobile homes. He couldn’t tell me anything about the waterlines, the skirting, and just charged me the service fee anyway. They haven’t even called me back.

Well I had to book several weeks in advance to get a good time on a Saturday (1 PM), made it clear on the phone I didn't want an early time for this because I would need to get my kids out of the house. So come Satruday, the service guy calls my house phone at 7:50AM and woke up everyone in the house. Let me repeat that, 7:50 on a Saturday morning when I had a 1 PM appointment. He indicated his early appointment was canceled and could be there in a half hour. Nooo..I scheduled this well in advance to avoid that. He was a little odd and said "very good sir" instead of apologizing for calling so early. So after the kids were out of bed and cranky they arrived later and were detailed in explaining what is being done for this. Was a little disappointed as the person on the phone stated the inside of the vents will be getting some sort of spray to prevent mold and when I asked the service guy about this they said "oh no, that is extra but we will be spraying the coils." What they do is blow the return and air vents and it goes to the main line where they drill several holes in your duct work (they do cap them after). I asked if they could take a picture of the inside of the vent and they acted like this would not be a problem and were seeing if their cell phone had a flash. So my family and I left and they said it could take up to 4 hours, they finished in 3. The service guy called me when they were finished and I asked about the picture of inside the duct and he said "Oh, no that is whole other thing that would be a scope of the vent and an extra cost". My response was, you aren't scoping the vent, you are putting your cell phone up in the vent duct and snapping a photo. His response was "yeah, that is whole other thing." Whatever. He was a little odd if you haven't gathered from how the day started with him waking my house up at 7:50 and not apologizing for it. So when I returned home they had locked up for me and I examined the work. Honestly, for $400 bucks I expected a little more. I looked at one of the return airs and it was still covered with dust. I put a swiffer over it a couple times and it came off filthy. Nice, feels like that was money well spent. Then I received an email later with pictures of the vacuume they used, to go along with this message: "Here are the before and after pictures as you requested. The blue filter on the top of the vacuum filters anything above 5 microns. The green filter is below the blue filter which starts at 1 micron to .05 micron. Anything below .05 microns is filtered by the Vacuums hepa filter, which is changed yearly. We use the Grand Central 2000, it creates a negative pressure of about 2200 cubic feet per minute vacuum. Just let me know if you need anything else." Interesting, I guess? All I asked for was a picture of the inside of my air duct? If that couldn't be done, just simply say no. It was an interesting experience to say the least. I am normally a do-it-yourselfer with a lot of projects but duct cleaning was one I don't think I could tackle as it required equipment I didn't have. There were many other providers on this site that had deals for much cheaper and I am wondering if I would have got a better job (and follow-through with what I am told). I went with the more expensive one because I figure you get what you pay for. Update 12/18/14 They offered a $25 gift card for my inconvenience. Don't know what the heck I can do with that. But when I responded about it, they ignored it. I dropped my experience down to a C because of this. Additionally, my dad was looking at my furnace and noticed they had not put the plate back on correctly and it was whistling air. The whole experience has been very amateur, for a premium price.

Dierre looked at the blower and had to get a new control panel for it. Because the problem occurred after the routine maintenance call, Dierre and his manager waived everything except parts and labor for the call. Because the furnace is old, it took Dierre a long time to figure out how the control panel should work with it. He was very persistent, and very apologetic about taking longer than expected. He was very nice and really represented his company well. The blower stopped running continuously, and the furnace is working fine.

Both jobs went well. Expensive but fine. I since have heard of others for cheaper. Also heard blind and sons are known for higher price but work gets done.

Ultimately, I wasn't too happy with the experience. Their estimate for the pipe replacement was very high, and it took them three tries before they finally cleared the drain.

Dan did a super job on the lighting project and kept to the budget. Ben did the plumbing work and I can't say enough about the great quality work! Totally happy with the improvements and quality of work.

Dave came out and took measurements and determined our size needs, then presented us with a variety of options to meet our needs. He was patient and knowledgeable and professional, and when we narrowed it down to two options he gave us price quotes on each. Once we made our decision they scheduled the work for just a few days out. The team who came to do the install seemed to be well trained and experienced. They were polite and prompt and worked straight through until everything was completed. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards and walking me through the details of the new system and telling me about maintenance things I should do during the year.
