Great experience all the way around. Salesman was knowledgeable and provided a quick evaluation and quote. The installation was worry free and the crew was punctual and professional. Blind & Sons extended the warranty with their own servicing which I likes since it shows they stand behind their product. Would use them again.

Their knowledge about ways to resolve problems, their professionalism and punctuality. They call a day ahead and 30 minutes ahead of time. They are neat and clean.

Technician quoted me at $1300 to repair the unit, claiming multiple problems. He tried hard to get me to commit to looking at a new furnace through them. I got a second opinion and ultimately got it fixed for under $400, requiring a single part to be repaired. That was the middle of last winter. I've had no problems since. Would not call again.

We had our other insurance to come in and add what we needed to get it working and eventually we'll replace it. They've been kind of reliable. Sometimes they'll take longer to come out and inspect or something like that. We have some kind of insurance with them to check out other things. We had to call someone else because this guy really wanted to replace the system but someone else came in. In the future we'll have it replaced because it was installed back in the 90's. So we just had a lot of things done. We had a little discrepancy with them but we got it cleared up. They're not the worst. I asked them to come and we had gotten into an agreement with them to come out every spring and every fall to check out my heating and air conditioning system. Last year they came out and put some Freon in. When we started using the air conditioning this year all of a sudden I went outside and there was ice forming on the coils - the line going inside. I called them and they came out and the gentleman didn't even check to see if there is a leak. He immediately said well we need to exchange the whole air conditioning unit because that one is too old to repair. I called my home owners insurance and not mentioning by name, they sent their own contractor out. The gentleman right on the outside by the air conditioning unit, he pulled out his leak detector out and he said sir this is where your problem is. All it was was a little bitty o ring under the cap where they put the coolant in. That cap had crystallized and the gas was leaking out. So the young man from Blind and Sons never put in the leak detector in and to me, it was more important to selling air conditioners and furnaces rather than repairing what folks had. Like I said I called my insurance and they sent someone oit. The gentleman got kind of angry and asked who the last one was. I told him we used one of the big box guys. He said they should be ashamed of their selves because they are just trying to get money out of you cause here's the leak right here. I'm glad I had my homeowners insurance because I just can't fork out $5000 for a new air conditioning. I really don't have any intentions of using them any more. I understand people are in business trying to make money. But me as a consumer I'm trying to save money. Don't come in and try to beat me up with something that you think I am too ignorant or completely oblivious of. I am a homeowner but I was also in home repair. I think their prices are comparable to everybody else but I wouldn't run to them unless everyone else got burned up. If you ask me what the best time window would be good for me to come out and be serviced. I've been wasting my time all day for you to either come out or call me and then you're gonna call me at the last minute and tell me well you can't get there. Now you promised me an open from 1200 to 2 and you're calling me here at 230 to tell me your technician is no where near. That is not a good business practice. Now I know being tops in the field, people are probably relying on them more. I think they are more commercial than residential. I'm not poor and I'm not rich but sometimes it seems these companies prefer folks who have more money than folks who are comfortable. They have other subsidiaries that they have available to them. They are good at being professionals in their advertising. If it was absolutely, completely, unequivocally necessary and I couldn't manage myself, I will consider calling them for service.

They didn't do a thorough job and they had to come back and re-do the job. You are supposed to be hiring top notch people, I don't know maybe they are overworking on the pay. I'm not into trying to be funny with folk's business but word of mouth travels. If it's good, word's gonna get out and if it's bad, word's gonna get out. If you do something to my house and I have to call you back with a complaint, you should have done the job thorough in the first place. If you are a professional, then don' t have me call you back for the same thing. They don't have a basement price because they are professionals and they have professional prices. There are other people in Akron and they have very relaxed prices. I will not use them again.

They're fine. They are dependable. They offer too many coupons and special offers that I don't like. As far as their work, it's fine. We didn't compare prices, we think it's pretty standard. They are fine.

He briefly checked the attic fan and determined it was motor. Told me go Home Depot & get motor. Gave part no. Confident it was right part. Said didn't need entire unit. When I went to Home Depot for part, it was entire unit. Said they didn't sell just motors. If I would have gotten part I was to call back, pay another service call for them to come out to repair.

They were very nice and professional. They weren't the cheapest but they were offering 0% for 48 months.

I stumbled on their name because they were close by. I always look for someone who is close by. I called them and they worked out fine and I got with them and I always call them. Their best three qualities are plumbing, furnace, electrical work. I don't know that they do carpentry and that kind of stuff around the house, but most of it is that internal type of things for your appliances, like plumbing, heating, your water system, electrical. You have to look for Blind and Son on the internet and you can see everything that they do. I wouldn't use them if they weren't "A" for this stuff. It's a fair price. I wouldn't use them if they didn't have good quality. Sometimes if you buy a contract it gives you a little advantage. Sometimes you can get them in a hurry without an extra fee. Some times they'll set them loose in an emergency. You have to have a little subscription thing for this additional piece of rapid insurance. If you're one of their members, that is typically you aren't a random caller, for instance I call them for water and some other things, and off and on different electrical and they do my A/C. They do all my water stuff.

Someone from the office called me right away to schedule an appointment. I was told they had availability for the next day. Someone was going to call me 30 minutes before to let me know they were coming. No one ever called. No one ever came. I called the office at 3:00 to see if someone was still coming. I was told that it was “very unlikely”. But they would be happy to schedule me for next week. No thanks. One wasted day is all I’m willing to give to any company.

They were not even a company that I had previously used for heating. My heater went out in the middle of the night and the company that I typically use for heating and cooling did not call me back. They called me back very promptly, and they had a tech out here, I think 12:30 am to get my heat going. They're not the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for. It's higher priced. I actually did end up using them because my father's heater went out and I had him call them immediately.

It went well the work was good. It took too long for them to get to me and I thought the pricing was a little high for what they did.

Workmanship is good. The price for the time they worked is too expensive.

I liked that when he came to check the furnace, he showed me where the problem was and that it was still under warranty. However, the unit was over 19 years old. The part was under warranty. It would cost at least a thousand to replace it and repair it in maintenance cost. He sent the salesman out to discuss repair verses new and decided new would be the better way to go because I would still have a twenty year old furnace with another thousand / fifteen hundred dollars into it. We went with the new furnace and the new air conditioner. They were very honest. They came out and went over all the pricing and arrangements that could be made for payment and set it up. It was installed probably within 2 weeks and it was interest free for two years I think, or three years, so it gave you time to pay it off before the interest was due. So, if I could use their money for free, that's what I did and I've been very happy with it. They replaced a lot of the duct work in the basement. They put in a new humidifier and a new air conditioner outside. It was an easy experience. It was one of the first since my husband died, a big major purchase that I had to do on my own. They were very good about going over everything, making sure I understood everything. They were very nice.

I have been using them for 10 to 12 years. I think they're honest in their work. They don't try to sell you parts. I think that they come when they are supposed to. When they call and make an appointment, they are always on time. They call ahead and let you know who's coming. They're easy to get to, being on the maintenance plan. If I had other problems with electrical or plumbing, I would be first up on their list. If, indeed, my furnace would go out in the winter, I would get priority status for repair or come out and check it. I just renewed my contract this morning.

If the power went off, my sump pump would still work, so my basement wouldn't flood. It was just a replacement sump pump, so the well was already there. They just had to drop that in and hook up everything. They were very good about it. It was nice and clean when they left. They came when they were scheduled and were polite while they were here.

They had told me two or three years in a row that I should probably replace that when they would come out to do the furnace. So after the third year, I went online and checked it out and yes, it had been deemed a fire hazard type thing, so I went ahead and did it. They're always punctual.

The customer service manager, Shawna, kept in close communication and from the time the resolution had been found, we had a Blind and Sons crew at the house and the problem fixed in a couple hours. Very courteous plumbers.

The plumber came with his equipment. Opened the drain and made a mess under the sink cabinet with all the water. Asked me for bucket and towels to clean the mess. Really?? You're a plumber, shouldn't you come prepared with all this? Spend over an hour snaking the drain. Finally told me that the drain cannot be opened. Then he said, he will need to open the walls/ceiling in my finished basement to see what is the problem and I may have to replace the pipes. Gave me an estimate of $215/hour to do that, and told me that it could take up to a full day to do all the work. That almost like $1500-$2000 to open a drain in a house that's barely 20 years old. He didn't charge me for the drain open service, but charged me $45 for service call. For what? You didn't do what you came out to do. But I paid nonetheless and declined for further service. Next day, I called another plumber and he opened the drain in less than 45 mins! If Blind & Sons has any integrity, I expect them to refund my $45 and send me a written apology for sending someone who does not know his job.

Everything went well once they came. The person that was supposed to come called off so they were going to send someone else. I waited 4 hours and then got a call that that person didn't have the camera to snake the drain. They came the next day with all of the equipment and there were no issues. Just lack of communication the first time around.
