Extremely disappointed. Purchasing a home (closing on 2/27) and getting quotes from different contractors so work could commence immediately upon closing. Service provider would not come to the home to give an estimate on anything until I was the owner....however, I have several other providers coming to estimate. Confused as to why estimates couldn't be given if work wasn't due to commence until after we owned the home. None the less, I find this to be frustrating, unnecessary and unprofessional.

Over the last 5 years, I have had 3 electricians out to fix exterior lights that have never worked. The 2 young B & S employees were able to figure it out and fix all lighting & wiring issues while doing the least amount of drywall damage possible. They also handled last minute issues we found as they worked throughout the day. Great work! Would recommend & rehire in a heartbeat.

Not well. They scheduled the appointment for a Monday afternoon. I took off work in order to meet their time requisite, then they cancelled day of. Very frustrating and they did not seem to care about the inconvenience they caused

They were very nice, available almost immediately, and they came back to fix the 2 lights when they flickered. I wanted ring cameras and doorbells to go up also, but was told the price would be well over $1,000.00 which was not an option right now. They did come out and replace 2 of my outdoor lights with 2 barn lights I had, and I love the barn lights which were very inexpensive on Amazon. I can't find the exact date on my checks, so I'll just say December 3.

Never even got a bid. They called me back and promptly put me on hold for several minutes play a radio station that was drifting in and out. Talked to three people before I found out that they wanted to charge $60 service call to provide a quote for the work. They might do great work but I sensed that I was going to be working for them and not the other way around.... Just not what I was looking for when I went looking for an electrician and a plumber...

The entire experience couldn't have been any more professional. From the first phone call ... they had to deal with my crazy schedule to get an appt, she (Holly) was patient, the quote was given - he listened to everything we needed and made suggestions ... then within a week, three gentleman (John, Kyle and Ryan) were super professional, clean workers, efficient and fast! We originally called Blind because our 19 year old a/c had stopped working. At the same time, I asked for their furnace tune up (which was on special) because our 9 year old furnace had been running louder and louder for the last few years (we aren't usually tune-up people, so it had been a number of years since either unit had been looked at, cleaned, etc.) I called on a Friday, and they offered to send someone Monday. The company could not specify what part of the day they would arrive, so my husband took the whole day off. He doesn't get paid for his time off, but he was OK with having an excuse to have a long weekend. The tech found the a/c had a bad fuse and replaced it, which got the a/c going again, but he suggested there were other repairs that should be done at an additional cost - which we opted against. He then did the furnace tune-up, but noted that a repair (around $750) would be needed to fix the furnace issue. We weren't surprised by this, because something had obviously been going wrong with the furnace for a while. Blind does a "buy-back" for a portion of their service call, if you decide to replace your furnace or a/c (I think within five days?) after service has been done. So, we had them quote a new a/c because while it was running again, 19 years is a ripe old age, and then we asked them to quote a new furnace as well, because a $750 repair seemed large enough to entertain the idea of just replacing it. I asked the sales rep Jim what he would do, and he said repair the furnace and replace the a/c, which I thought was a reasonable answer - with points for not pushing a new furnace. But, there is a little bit of a price break for doing furnace and a/c together, and with the service "buy-backs" on the work they had done on both units, we opted to go ahead and replace both, because we may sell the house in the next few years, and who knows how much it would cost to replace them down the road with possible inflation? Blind mainly supplies Lennox furnaces and A/C, which would not have been my first brand choice. At one point I did ask about other options, but we never got around to actually getting a quote on alternatives. I could have pushed the question, but the Lennox units come with a 10 year warranty (provided you get annual check-ups by Blind or another furnace company), which we were told covers everything, so we decided we would just go with the Lennox and try very hard to be good about the annual maintenance. Wish us luck on that. Jim gave us quotes for three levels of a/c furnace, and like a lot of people, we opted for the mid-range units. A replacement appointment was made, and my husband took another day off. The only down side was that they called on the day they were supposed to come, and said they would have to reschedule because they had trouble getting the units we had ordered. The Lennox facility had been hit by a tornado a month earlier - I googled and the news pics were pretty bad - and we were told this was the reason behind the problem. The sales rep apologized and said he would call when the units had arrived, and that we would be upgraded to the next level of furnace and a/c at no charge. A few days later, he called to say they were in. So, hubby got a third unpaid day off, but again, he never minds too much about staying home. Really, I probably didn't need him to be home, but like having him home when workers are around, in case issues arise. The install took two techs (Jay and Dave) most of the day, but everything went smoothly. They cleaned everything up really thoroughly when they were done, and showed us how to set the new AprilAir thermostat that came with the install. As promised, we were upgraded on both the a/c and furnace at no extra charge. It has been about a week, and the a/c is running well. We have yet to try the furnace (other then their test run), because of the hot weather, but I am looking forward to a much quieter winter.

Overall a pleasant, if expensive, experience. I like their warranty, though I'm not crazy about signing up for their annual maintenance plan as a way to keep the warranty - this part wasn't fully explained up front (or if it was, I didn't understand). But, the work was done well and quickly, and pricing was not out of alignment with other options. Overall we are satisfied.

We had our furnace replaced this past winter by Blind & Sons, We received an estimate which was quite reasonable. Because of a cancellation, our install date was the following day. Timing is everything! The installers Ron and Dustin arrived on schedule. They explained the process and got started. They were very professional and treated our home as if it was theirs. They were efficient in their work and the job was completed on time. We are very satisfied with our new furnace. Thank you!

This is an update to the review I left on May 30, 2018 after Blind and Sons no-showed for my first appointment (which took three weeks to get) with no call or explanation. After the first miss, the earliest date B&S could give me was last Friday, 6/8. Once again, they did not show. This time they called toward the end of the appointment window to advise that they wouldn't be there. That's twice now that B&S has stood me up in the middle of a work day. The next available date they could give me was in July. This was after making the appointment in early May. In my experience, B&S does a fine job and it's prices are reasonable when they actually show up. But at this point, I have no faith that they will honor their appointments. If your time is valuable to you, I'd recommend you look elsewhere, because B&S apparently has no problems wasting it.

Poorly coordinated job. Instaled wrong water heater. Had problems with the geothermal furnace that they admitted that they were unqualified to repair. Left me hanging to find someone who would work on it. This created warranty problems.

They have .a motto of 100% Satisfaction Guarantee*. I have added the asterick as it appears this policy only applies if you completely satisfied with the company because if not, tough luck. Long story short, had a issues with the AC (not cooling and a leak down at the evaporator) and had a tech come out in mid-June. He recharged the system and added the fix-a-flat but did not look at the leak downstairs. Come mid-July, evaporator was icing over again so called a tech back out. This time the tech investigated the evap coil and discovered a leak in the evap pan (pan had rotted out). I asked for the service fee to be waived as the 1st technician did not even try to solve the issue but current tech did not want to do that because it would hurt the other tech's record - Blinds should put in a policy that does not have the incentive for the techs to protect each other at the customer expense. Due to the pan dripping, the furnace HX had cracks and also needed replaced. Mid-July a salesman comes over and quotes a unit for replacement. I expressed my desire to repair the furnace (new HX - not a complete replacement) and was disappointed that salesman would be no help since that was not a new unit and that the service to install the new AC and replace the HX would be 2 separate visits. In early August, the AC was replaced and I called to schedule the HX replacement. In mid-August Blinds calls to schedule a tech to be dispatched to get model number off the unit. This was another frustration point as 4 different techs/salesman had been in my house since the issue had been discovered. When tech came to the house to get info, he had no idea next steps which was a poor customer facing experience. Call in late-August to figure out when they will be coming onsite (furnace is not operational at this point) and am told the part has not been ordered yet - 100% customer satisfaction it is not! When tech comes over, he finds an issue with the board which needs replaced. When I call to get that scheduled, the customer service person was not very flexible on timing. When I am finally given a day, no expected time can be given so we are held prisoner in our house waiting for the tech. Throughout the process, I had been in contact with their customer service manager. At the beginning she seemed to have empathy with the issues but then would never follow-up. I emailed the company website to get in contact with a person - after getting a response, I asked for an email address of the customer service manager which never came. I submitted the feedback form on their site and never got a response. 0% customer satisfaction!

They were excellent. My furnace had stopped working and it was unspeakably cold. They came out Sunday night on Thanksgiving weekend to inspect my furnace. The gentleman who came out was on other jobs and was able to get to me at 10 PM. He came into my house and wiped his feet first. He went straight to work and got the job done quickly. He had the parts in the truck and installed it immediately. I am very happy with this company and I would definitely use them again.

The overall service was great. The technician was on time and worked quickly and efficiently. The work space was kept clean and when he enter the house he put booties over his shoes. Both the initial technician and installer were straight forward with what was needed and the cost.
Description of Work: Contact Blind and Sons due to leak in furnace/air conditioning. The technician thoroughly inspected the furnace and air conditioner. He then proceeded to let me know what the issue was and what would be needed. We required a new air conditioner unit.

I made the appointment 2 months in advance. i called the day before to confirm. they were to come 9am-1pm. I took a day off work and got up early to clear everything away from the furnace area, etc. 2pm.. NO SHOW...NO CALLS. i called them. evidently it doesn't matter if you had an appointment, if you do not PAY their priority customer yearly FEE.... they can skip you if they want and not even be courteous about it. even if the system you have is from them! she asked if I wanted to continue to wait with no guarantees they'll show up... i said No Thanks, I have better things to do with my Time. i already wasted HOURS..and would not of known anything had I not called you.. ( and was put on hold for a long long time, as always) let alone a wasted day off work.

Kyle Fisher was great. He figured out what the problem was. I did not know/or forgot that one of the switches by the front door was to be used to turn on and off the outlet that I always had on and used a timer to turn the light on and off. He disconnected the wiring at the switch and everything is now functioning properly.
