The Fence Guy

It went pretty good. I would recommend the Fence Guy for all your fencing needs. No need to micro-manage these folks. They will get the work done and to your satisfaction. They did not ask for any money down for my project and when complete, I paid in full. I have told all my neighbors about my wonderful fence and these guys.

Everything went very smoothly. The old fence was removed quickly and the new one went up just as fast. The couple who put the new one up was so nice and wonderful with our dog. Keith was extremely easy to work with, responded quickly, and answered any questions we had. I’ve recommended The Fence Guy to friends and family, as well as on social media sites, and would ABSOLUTELY use him again if need be.

Keith Pickens got back to us within days, came out and got us an estimate. I wanted to "comparison shop" so contacted 3 other Angie's List fencing outfits. Two of the three never returned our requests for estimates or contacted us at all. A third did come out to survey the situation and sent us an estimate, but it was wrong in several specifics we recommended, so I was reluctant to trust their reliability. It took 7 weeks of waiting for a second estimate, so we went with The Fence Guy and are glad we did. Extra-hard-working crew of 2 dug up old posts and put in lovely new fence. Excellent job!!!

They were fantastic. I selected them because of their high rating on Angie's list and I was not disappointed. The price was very reasonable. They got it in within a week or so of my contacting them. I am very happy with the quality of the fence and the work that was done. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. The entire process was trouble-free. Highly recommended!

Very Professional but went with another company

I called Keith in May when a friend recommended him. He came out and took some measurements, said that he would be here in two weeks to finish up. Then it was a month. Then he had to order some wood. Then I tried calling and his voicemail was full. I give up - I'm calling someone else.

Their craftsmanship and work was very good. There were a few delays due to weather then another delay due to obtaining material. His team worked all day on a Saturday to ensure we had a fence to keep our special needs child safe and get her back outside before we went back to work.

Great crew. They did a super job and overcame a significant problem that could have stopped other contractors in their tracks. They were quick and did quality work. Totally satisfied. Price was competitive too.

I contacted Keith to have him install a 6 foot wood fence around my son's property as a birthday present. I live in Texas and he is in Ohio. I spoke with Keith over the phone and told him I would be in town for a quick visit to arrange things and could he get it done in the next week. He agreed to it all and got the fence installed in time for the birthday present. Nice job and GREAT customer service. The fence looks great too!

Called the gentlemen and said he would come by and provide estimate. He never came or called. I called numerous times and left voice mails. Still no call back. Disappointed because he was rated well on your list.

He gave us a full estimate, as it stands now they are one of the individuals we are considering.

Contacted Keith after getting another quote ( Keith's quote was around 40% less than first quote.) Keith gave me an estimate during the week of Christmas and to my surprise let me know that his team could get my fence installed in January. (I expected spring due to Ohio weather.) Keith was very responsive provided lots of communication. He called or texted each day if they could not make it due to muddy weather. Keith was able to provide all the documentation needed for my HOA to get approval without issue. The Fence looks amazing and we are very happy with Keith and his team.

We love the fence. Originally I was thinking split rail, but Keith was right to suggest the 3 board fence I installed. He came out for the estimate when he said he would and gave me the estimate before he left my house. He is straight forward and honest. He was responsive to my calls and to my schedule. I had to back the work up a few weeks as the cement contractor doing work in the yard couldn't finish up as soon as I thought he would. Amy was my installer and she was great. She always let me know what was going on, when she would be there, or why she wouldn't. It took a little longer to install than any of us wanted, but we were sabotaged by Mother Nature for most of December! Amy made sure the weather wasn't going to cause problems somewhere down the road, so sometimes we just had to wait it out. I would rather have great quality work than a fence put in under adverse conditions. I have no doubt that if any issues which develop, they will be handled with every bit as much professionalism as the install was. Thanks you guys!

She is knowledgeable, strong, professional, helpful, smart, funny and about as nice as they come. In setting up the job, Keith selected high quality materials, and he worked out a nice design. I really like the way the fence slopes from the 6-foot-tall section down to the 4-foot-tall section, and Amy was able to make the fence straight in spite of the fact that the back lawn is not altogether level. Also, we had an unusual tree growing into the old fence — the bees love it — and she was able to trim the tree enough to install the new fence. We're so glad not to lose that tree. We are delighted with our new beautiful new cedar fence, and we enjoyed having Amy around while it was being installed.

Keith was great to work with. He came out the same day we called to give an estimate, and it was only a few weeks before installation. He handled everything and I was very happy with the price. He and his crew were polite, professional and hard-working. John and Heidi even worked late to get the project done quickly. Our new fence looks great, and we'll definitely be recommending The Fence Guy to friends and family in the future.

On April 22, 2016, Keith Pickins came out, measured the site, and sat down with us to talk about the work that his company could do for us. He was in our home for a couple of hours--mostly chatting with my huband about old bands they played in, musicians they knew, etc. He left promising to email the estimate to us, along with some photo samples of fencing that we might like, and that was the last we ever saw or heard from him. I even sent him an email before he left our house so that he would have our email address to respond to. Nothing. We don't know for sure what happened, but after reading the "F' rating reviews, we were not the first to be treated that way by Mr. Pickens.
