Jim the service technician was on time. They called me to say he was coming. He was personable and completed everything he needed to do. Had a service contract.

Jim Oswald has serviced our HVAC for several years. I am happy with his service. Now that he is with Stack, I am also pleased with Stack. They called to provide a reminder, called when Jim was on way. Office person was polite and cheerful. Stack offers annual service plan at a reasonable price and they are a local family owned business. I like that.

They fixed the problem. They were very prompt and in fact they responded to an emergency call. Overall, they were good.

He was on time very thorough and pleasant fixed all issues.

Great My furnace ( 10 years old) went out in Feb. 2014 on a Sunday morning. Then A/C failed in mid May. This company is so professional it is amazing. I trust them completely.

Technician, Jim, was right on time, professional and neat. Did a thorough job on our central air.

Office: I called to schedule an appointment to have a tech come check out my geothermal and the woman that I spoke with was incredibly nice and accommodating. She was personable, without being overbearing or annoying. I called on a few other occasions and each time Stacy (I believe is her name. :( ) was equally as impressive each time that I spoke to her. She called me again this afternoon to inform me that the technician was on his way and that they would finish their work in time for me to make my concert this evening. To me, this says two things. Firstly, she was actually listening! Secondly, she cared enough about what we were speaking about on a previous conversation to either write down that I was on a tight schedule, or she stuck it somewhere in her head that allowed her to remember this morning. Not many companies do this anymore. Most companies run on their own time and essentially tell you to deal with it. Technician: Tony, from Stack, was the third person to examine my geothermal unit. The other two technicians said that nothing was wrong with it and called it a day. In the winter, I was receiving $600 electric bills In the summer, my air conditioning would not get cold enough. Tony came into my home and within a matter of 3 minutes knew that there was something wrong. It only took him another 30 or so to figure out what it was. He also pointed out that my hot water tank, that was supposed to be routed through my geothermal, was not even hooked up correctly. The issue was a relay on the circuit board had been stuck. Tony informed me of a temporary solution and ordered the part, after I had authorized him to do so. The part took a bit longer to get here than I would have liked, but that is no fault of Stack's. It arrived yesterday and they informed me that they would be here today to install it. Overall, my experience with Stack was outstanding. Stacy (again, I hope that is her name) was fantastic. She went over and above what most would do. Tony was top notch. I know that I can be annoying. He answered all of my questions, regardless of how stupid they may have sounded. He remained professional throughout all of our interaction. He is incredibly knowledgeable. I did not know what to expect when asking someone else to come into my home to fix something, as I usually fix everything myself. Tony surpassed what most would expect.

It went good. He was on time and thorough with the work. He explained everything in detail to me - what he was doing or why he was doing it. He also made other suggestions on what should have been done and how. He spent a lot of time taking calls from other customers which isn’t really his fault but that’s about the worst thing that I could say about them.

From A-Z, he installed everything that was needed, and he did it in about 4" of sitting water in our basement. Exceptional detail and customer service skills. I would recommend them to anyone.

I called Stack because our boiler went out on one of the coldest days here. They were able to come by after hours to fix my boiler. The repairman spent 3 hours at our home, fixing the boiler, and after completing his work he stated it should be working now and our house should warm up. Our house never warmed up, and when I called Stack at 6am to make them aware our boiler was now completely shut off, they replied they would call me back and get back to me because now they were very busy. While i completely understand they had to be very busy, the job at our house was never completed. I waited until about noon, to see if they would call me back, they never did, and we had another Heating system repairman come out to fix our boiler and he fixed it in 45 minutes. Since our house sat without heat for so long it took almost 10 hours for our home to warm back up and we ended up having a pipe burst. I was very disappointed with the job performance and the lack of compassion. Stack returned my check but with no apology letter or call from the manager to at least apologize for the lack of customer service and compassion.

They quality of the work was excellent. They are very detailed oriented and take care of everything. They gave me a quote that they would be done in one week but it took two weeks. I was disappointed it took longer than expected but understood they had emergency calls to tend to. I have used them for years to service my boiler.

Responsive and punctual. Stack arrived at our home after hours and squeezed in time to install our heater to ensure a warm home for our family. They were honest and professional in presenting us with our options for replacement appliances. They coordinated installation of a unit purchased through Costco Wholesale in order to receive rebate. We were very happy with their service.

Went well, they were on time and did the requested furnace check up. Let us know that the blower needed cleaning. Gave me a quote to do it, a little high I thought. I did it myself. I had a call back asking if I needed anything else. Overall the good service.

They never called, even though the invoice they gave said they would call us, to check the furnace before winter. We finally called them in December. They came out and did $100 worth of work to inspect the furnace. I feel we were over charged for the service they provided. They never called in the Spring to check out the A/C, either. So, we tried calling them for the furnace and they said our contract is expired and never offered to see if we wanted to renew. I feel this is crummy service. They must be over-burdened with work because they had no interest in doing any service for us.

We've used this company a couple times now and have been happy with each. The first time was when our a/c died on a ridiculously hot July day. We had a 3 week old baby at home so were thrilled that they were able to come out and fix it that day. We expected to have to replace the unit but it turns out mice had eaten through the wiring and the technician was able to salvage and just replace some wiring. Had them out one more time when our heater was making noise and once again, prompt professional service. Our only issue was in billing. For some reason they didn't process our payment so we were billed six months later, with no notice. They were apologetic and offered something, I think it was a furnace checkup.

They are wonderful and I use them often. I have been using Keith for almost 4 years. He always has my units working top notch.

Because I had called during a busy time, Stack originally told me they could not replace my air conditioner for three weeks. When I expressed concern due to the fact my daughter had asthma and was having a hard time without air conditioning, they arranged to come that evening, after hours, to remove my air conditioner and install a new one. I cannot express how thankful I was. It was unbelievable. I would never hesitate to recommend them.

I had Stack revamp entire HVAC system on a house I just purchased. The original systems included three different furnaces and AC units and 2 hot water tanks. Brian Stack worked on my specific wants and was able to provide me with a single system that would allow one boiler to heat the entire house (radiant floors on 1st floor and forced hot air on second) and all the hot water needed along with the AC. I was provided personal service by all team members I have dealt with and am very satisfied. I have also used Stack on subsequent for commercial needs.

I am not really happy with the a/c unit. It is not a flat unit. It stands up straight and is not very visually appealing. I did not ask to look at it but I did assume it would be flat since all the previous units were as well as my neighbors units. They were very nice people. I was thrilled with their service. One thing I really like about them was that they brought a portable a/c unit for my comfort while they were doing the work since it was so hot out. I was hard for me to breath in the heat because of a heart condition and they actually cared enough to bring the portable unit. I would highly recommend them.

Tony, repair tech very nice, personable & professional. Repair took 20 mins. Only had to wait 1 day for repair.

First they came out to inspect the unit and give us a quote. After we agreed to the price (we have used Stack 2 times before) and set the date for installation. They told us it would be a two day job and they would arrive at 8:30 a.m. on the prescribed date. They were prompt, and informative as to the work they were doing on the first day and the second day. Even after the first day they had cleaned up after themselves. So there was not any mess to contend with overnight. When they removed the old units, they hauled them away as well. Both men were friendly and professional. My husband and I are very pleased with the results. We will recommend them to friends and to Angie's List members.

I called for appt., Mary was great, tech Mark was great, services were performed. However, when paying....the tech said he could not honor the coupon for $25.00 from Angies List Magazine which stated, $25.00 off your next service call with this coupon. I called the office the next day for an explanation. Mary told me that they don't consider air conditioning servicing as a service call. A service call to them means I have no a/c or heat . Servicing my a/c is considered a maintenance call. I find that very misleading. She was very nice and apologized for the "confusion", and promised to send me a check for $25.00 immediately. While I am happy it was resolved, I am not happy that I had to call and complain. I would suggest when using their coupon, that you get an explanation of the coupon "before" you schedule an appointment. .

A repair person came out to our house within an hour of making the initial call, and diagnosed the problem as a bad circuit board. He had to drive about 20 miles away for the part and returned within a few hours to make the repair. He spend a total of about three hours diagnosing and making the repair which involved replacing a gas manifold as well. Fortunately the motherboard and gas manifold were under warranty, so I avoided a $1000 part replacement out of my own pocket. I am happy with the quality and promptness of the repair as it was 10 degrees outside on the date of the repair. He cleaned up after himself well after the repair.

Service man arrived as scheduled-performed inspection & system tune-up.

Technician arrived promptly and performed clean and check. He failed the system on two points: faulty motors and flue. Recommended replacing motors and flue liner. Approximate cost $900.00 for motors. Second opinion from licensed contractor revealed motors are fine. Originally the tech said that Stack would look at flue lining, but then he referred us to another contractor. The tech had also recommended that we replace the humidifier filter. Filter is less than 6 months old. Second contractor said that flue problem is seal recaulking on top of chimney. We are disappointed that the tech recommended that we replace motors that were not faulty. We are disappointed that the tech told us that the furnace would fail without motor replacement, when in fact the motors are not faulty. We are disappointed that the tech recommended that we replace the humidifier filter when in fact it was virtually new. We are disappointed that the tech said that Stack would handle flue liner replacement/repair and then referred us to another contractor. No repeat work or recommendation here. Tech left a little bit of a mess using our 'facilities'. **UPDATE** We received an unsolicited refund from Stack for the full amount of the service call as a result of our Angie's List review. Most appreciated, although the accompanying explanation did not address the issues of our dissatisfaction. **UPDATE 10/31/2012** We have spoken with Brian Stack and have discussed the above issues to our satisfaction. While our rating of this service call remains, we acknowlege and are impressed by the efforts made by Stack Heating and Cooling to make the situation right. We did not wish to delete this post; rather, we would like anyone following this thread to see that we have reached an amicable resolution.
