+ 0 moreWorking with Keller Construction was perhaps the best decision we made in managing the remodel project. Beyond the typical guidance and input that is expected from an experienced contractor, Keller provided a keen eye on details we may have otherwise overlooked. Design sense, project management, home security (making sure that the house was secure after other contractors were in or that water lines were protected / turned off while the house was vacant for remodel) as well as a thoughtful approach to keeping the dirty work areas contained as best they could and cleaning up afterwards -- all these 'extras' helped minimize surprises along the way. The build and carpentry work Keller provided was top notch -- down to minute details of the trim, moulding and archway curves from the original home design. We especially appreciated Keller's communication skills, keeping us apprised of any issues or questions encountered, their exceptional work ethic and professionalism.
Description of Work: I purchased a 60 year old ranch in Westlake in August knowing that it would require updating to revitalize the home. I had an architect prepare plans to remodel the kitchen, repurpose an unused dining room and update an old sunroom. The unused dining room space was only a small 9 x 10' room that really offered too little space as a dining room. However, we planned to make that space more efficient by making the space into a laundry area (which was originally located in the garage), adding a half bath and installing a long closet and cabinetry which serves to add more overall functional storage to the house. The kitchen appeared original with only some slight cosmetic changes over the years. Deep sofits, cabinets which were too deep to offer full access and outdated appliances and materials were just part of the problem -- the other consideration we needed to overcome was to increase the amount of light coming into the space. Joe Keller managed demolition, installation of skylights, windows, doors, all cabinetry and trim work.
