Chimney Guys Ohio

It went great! Joe (owner) was very responsive. I left an inquiry on the Chimney Guys Ohio website late in the evening and Joe called me bright and early the next morning. Joe and Maxx were out the next day to take a look at my situation and provide their recommendations and a quote. As I had suspected, the furnace/hot water tank chimney was in dire need of repair and our fireplace chimney also needed some work including step crowns which had never been installed. Joe also noted that the chimney liner was not correctly sized and the hookup in the basement was less than ideal. Joe provided a price quote and I said I would get back to him. I called Joe back 2 days later to let him know that I wanted to go ahead with the work. He said he would get to the brickyard to look for matching bricks and call me over the weekend to schedule the work. As promised, he called to let me know that work would begin on Tuesday and likely take 2 days. Tuesday turned out to be a rainy day and Joe called me bright and early to let me now they would start work on Wednesday instead. On Wednesday, Maxx spent the entire day doing the outside brickwork on both chimneys. On Thursday, Maxx and Ryan came out to install the chimney liner and complete the piping connections in the basement. The old liner, in addition to being the wrong size, was in such bad shape that it snapped as it was being pulled out. All the work was completed professionally and efficiently. As you might expect, grinding away old mortar and replacing bricks is messy work. Maxx and Ryan did a great job cleaning up after their work and repositioning anything they had to move, Later in the day, Joe called me to ensure everything was satisfactory with the work. To recap, responsiveness to my initial inquiry was great, thorough explanations of the issues and the recommended repairs were provided, work was completed within 8 business days after my initial contact (including a day delay due to rain), workmanship and cleanup was excellent, price exactly matched the quote, everyone I spoke to (Joe, Maxx, Ryan) were professional, friendly and courteous. I would definitely hire Chimney Guys again.

This company is awesome! Gave me a quote and based on the damage moved their schedule to make repair ASAP. They did what they said they would, they were on time, and they were extremely professional.

For over a month I had flies in my house. Over 200 flies. Couple of days before the flies I heard noises in the chimney. The morning I called Chimney Guys they told me they could be at my house in an hour. I was very impressed with how quick they were able to come. Max did an amazing job cleaning out my fireplace. There ended up being 2 dead squirrels. The price was good. Nothing expensive for the work they have to do. It’s pretty disgusting so price was not an issue. Ang future issues I have I will call Chimney Guys and I highly recommended going with them. I called Modern Day Chimney and they were not only unprofessional but also never showed up to my scheduled appointment.

We needed a chimney cap installed so I talked to Joe and made arrangements for him to come out at 9 AM the next morning for an estimate. My husband took time off of work to meet with him and Joe never showed up. When we tried calling him, no one answered so we left a voice mail. After 45 minutes and a voice mail later, my husband gave up and went to work.

Joe and Maxx got back to me and Maxx was out first thing this morning to take a look at why the Chimney was leaking. Maxx was very thorough and was able find the issue and fix it. I appreciate the service and the help!

When inspected, Joe found out that there was not enough draft in the chimney for the furnace and water heater and possible CO2 was getting back into the house. Joe and Max installed a new liner in the chimney and replaced the metal ducts from the furnace and water heater and brick and mortar in the basement. They also matched and replaced bad bricks on the chimney and also replaced some bad ones on my front steps. Two new caps were also installed on the chimney. They projected they could get to do the work in a couple of weeks, but due to a cancellation, they came within a few days. The job took 2 days and they took care to clean-up when done. Very polite and professional. Would use them again.

We called Joe on Wednesday; he came out on Thursday morning, gave us a clear explanation of what was happening and what needed to be done at our disabled cousin's house. His explanation matched the furnace installer's diagnosis from a few days before as to why the furnace wasn't coming on. Joe made sure we turned off the furnace immediately because of the dangerous not venting issue and put us at the top of their list for the next 'to do' job. He came the next day to do the repairs. While there, he saw a small leak in the basement and fixed that without charging extra. He had already given us a discount because of their low-income status. We will recommend this company every time.

Provided us with great insight into the condition of our chimneys and provided options for fixing issues. Haven't decided if we are going to move forward with the project yet but If we do we would use this company based on their customer service and helpfulness.

They were able to juggle their clients, to be able to see me - and I appreciated their customer service. They were confident of the problem, and clearly explained the options. It was snowing hard, and I couldn't believe they were up crawling around on the roof. They worked hard to fix my problem, and said if I had any issues, they would come back and make it right. I knew they would fix it.

They were Buick to return phone calls and easy to talk to. Was able to get the repair done in less than a week of the storm, while other places were scheduling 3 weeks in advance and just wanted to put a tarp over the chimney. They showed up on time and got right to work. Max (if I️ remember correctly) was very professional and answered all my questions. When he was finished he cleaned up so that is was hard to tell anyone was even there. I️ would gladly work with them again.

I can't believe someone like this can get away with stealing $600. We gave Joe from Chimney Guys a $600 deposit for work he was supposed to do on our chimney. As time went on, he kept blowing us off and failed to show up a few times we scheduled. After about 2 months since the initial deposit, I asked for my money back and he was never to be heard from again. I got the Better Business Bureau involved but they can't make someone give money back. They called Chimney Guys and even had the same problem as me. Unfortunately, I now have to waste my time going to small claims court, assuming the guy actually shows up and has my $600 to give back. There are a number of other different chimney repairmen out there. This is not one I would recommend. Unless you like getting ripped off. Also makes me wonder if these Angie List reviews are legit. Look them up under Better Business Bureau. They have 6 complaints within the last year. Joe even went to court in 2011 for failing to providing services while taking advanced payments. The work was done in a day to the chimney. They had to come the next day for a few hours to put a new chimney liner in for the hot water tank. They also put some new caulk and painted the flashing to seal it, as well as cleaned out some of my gutters. I was extremely satisfied with the work and professionalism.

Joe and Max did a great job. We are very pleased with the results.

The triviality of my repair is what impressed me the most. I tried getting my Roofing Contractor who had just replaced my roof to do this and kept getting blown off. When I contacted Chimney Guys they were extremely responsive and timely in their repair which was perfect.

I had an issue with the chimney itself, so they cleaned it out that night so we could use it while waiting for a service call on the furnace. They also checked the furnace for me to see if it was something simple they could address, but ultimately I needed new parts. They came back promptly the next day fixed the chimney quickly. They improved the look of it from the outside and the cost was really reasonable. I will continue to use them annually.

All went better than expected. Explanation of work to be done during consultation was brief and well explained. My questions were answered in greater details and with patients. Work performed looks great.

The owner, Joe, is a master at everything chimneys and fireplaces! He replaced the chimney liners at my residence and my rental property, rebuilt crowns and did brick repair. His work is meticulous! He also installed a beautiful gas fireplace, tiled the hearth, made a new mantle, and installed a large screen TV above the fireplace…with all wires concealed in the wall. He knows everything there is to know about fireplaces and chimneys. Plus, he has a wealth of knowledge in many other areas. I would most definitely recommend Chimney Guys to anyone seeking quality craftsmanship and knowledgeable personnel.

Very smoothly, they knew what they were doing, they did it expeditiously, their prices where more than fair, they in my opinion where very hard working, they took no personal breaks, they cleaned up nicely after themselves, and they were open to any and all suggestions. I strongly recommend them.
