Excellent. After John reviewed and assessed all problem areas, we discussed options. He told me, in his professional opinion, what the issues were, what the options were for remedying them. He was very clear and confident in his expertise, telling me what he thought I should hire someone else for, what he could do, etc. I am holding onto John's card bc I will be using him for future projects. John's approach was a "professional visit" rather than just an estimate.

Although I ultimately went with a contractor who had immediate availability, Weeden would have been my top choice overall for professionalism and price. He had clever ideas, offered a couple of different approaches/costs to our street-creep-related foundation repair, and provided an impressively detailed written estimate. He also seemed like a really nice guy. Based on other reviews and after meeting him and getting a written estimate from him, I would recommend him to others. I am confident that he would do the project correctly, neatly, and at a competitive price.

He was on time, kept his schedule as agreed, he went a little off his schedule to meet my needs. His work is "textbook". He is a little pricy, but his work is excellent.

Top notch contractor! Mr. Weeden and his crew were prompt, courteous and provided excellent workmanship. He went over and above dealing with the city to ensure that we were in compliance with new regulations. Hauled debris away and cleaned up yard. Even powerwashed our driveway. Competitive bid and came in as quoted. We would highly recommend his company.

We used Weeden Waterproofing in September of 2013 to repair a bowed basement wall and some questionable waterproofing/drainage issues on a home we were buying at the time. As this was our first home, John and his team were incredibly courteous in explaining the situation, the structure of our home, causes, and how they would remedy our problem. It was much less a ‘quote’ as it was a quick lesson in Foundation School to understand how the most important part of your home, works. As work began, I remember thinking in my head that our house would look like a war zone, and in some cases it certainly did with a large hole dug around our foundation; but the crew was incredibly clean. They set out planks to keep machinery from digging into the lawn, they removed bushes and planted them back in when they were done, and the inside of the home was also kept clean, and free of dirt and construction debris. We were on a limited time frame through our bank, but John’s team made that deadline, with John himself finishing the last few pieces of the work to keep the bank happy. After work was completed, John continuously answered our questions regarding how to properly care for our home’s basement and foundation. On a few occasions he’s even offered to stop over to the house to explain things in person. If we needed any work done to our home that fell under John’s area of expertise, I don’t think we would even get quotes from other companies; a great professional and just a great guy to do business with.

We called John because we thought that we had a pipe that needed to be dug up and replaced. It turned out that is not what we needed so we ended up not needing his services but can highly recommend him. He drove all of the way out from Avon Lake to Berea to diagnose the problem. He checked our crawl space for issues and gave us options. He went above and beyond because even though he is not an indoor plumber he checked out some plumbing issues we were having and told us exactly what we needed to do. I would definitely use him if we ever need his services. He was so personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He wasn't out to make a buck he genuinely wanted to help us!

John came to measure and quote the same time a downpour started flood #3 in our basement that spring. He was able to get started in only a week or two because of a cancelled job. His crew were skilled, hard working and professional -- they were creative in solving longstanding drainage problems, and they tested the system thoroughly, revealing weaknesses that were not known or understood by previous contractors. John and his crew were available for followup when I had questions or concerns. Although it is traumatic when your house goes through all this, John was very supportive and we would not hesitate to recommend his services to anyone.

This is the second job John's done for me and I recommend him enthusiastically. I had a serious drainage problem around my house, and he quickly identified a way to fix it. I'm happy to say that even after several very heavy rains there is no sign of any problem at all. John and his crew also installed a beautiful stamped concrete patio, spending considerable time with us to make sure we got the look we wanted. The work was done very quickly - his crew shows up early and works very hard, are extremely neat and clean up every day. Part way through they discovered a major unexpected plumbing problem for the patio drainage. John let me know right away, came up with a solution, and charged a very reasonable overage for parts and hours of labor. Had he not fixed the problem, we would likely have been tearing up the patio in a few years, so I'm very grateful to have it fixed at this point. He communicates clearly and is an all around great guy.

Weeden Waterproofing did an EXCELLENT job waterproofing our house. The owner John was EXTREMELY accommodating and understanding regarding our personal needs and concerns. The entire crew was VERY professional and courteous and EXTREMELY hard working! They cleaned up every night after the work was done and you wouldn't even know they were here! Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to all the mess and work of having waterproofing done, but Weeden Waterproofing made it painless and actually enjoyable. John was wonderful. I was sad when I called him to say we went with another company. It boiled down to price. The other company we narrowed down to was $4000 cheaper for the same exact work. John took it well and even offered to come out or look over things if we needed or wanted. I will recommend Weeden Waterproofing. They are definitely worth contacting.

I contacted 3 companies for quotes to repair my failing basement wall. The house was built in the 1930's and the area that required repair had originally been a crawlspace that a previous owner excavated to a depth matching the standing height of the existing basement. To build the new wall the previous owner built a stepped foundation that was not properly supported on a sound footer. Over time, this corner section (approximately 18 feet in total) failed. This entire section of the wall was bowed and cracked. Each of the 3 contractors I contacted suggested a different way to handle the repair, but John Weeden's was the most straightforward and offered the best solution. He said to remove the entire failing sections of wall and rebuild them properly from the ground up on a new footer dug to the proper depth. I am on a budget and Weeden's price was not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but all the quotes were pretty close (within 10%). Other contractor's said to install "bracing systems" or what sounded to me to be expensive "patch jobs" solutions. Only Weeden said we should do it right starting with the new footer. I contacted Weeden in the late Fall of 2011. It was late in the season and his schedule was full. I was not in a hurry and my schedule was flexible so and we agreed to a mid-Spring 2012 start date. The work went very smoothly and the entire crew was a pleasure. I was not home much of the time and felt no problem leaving them with access to my house while I was working. I was kept up to date on the progress and every step was clearly explained. Upon completion the area was cleaned and top soil added so it all looks better than ever, Weeden even found brick to match the old existing foundation so the work blends perfectly. Inside, the basement floor was patched and leveled as the new foundation is no longer stepped so I have gained several feet of new storage space.I was very pleased with the work, the friendly professionalism and the would definitely recommend John Weeden. While I hope never to have any foundation issues again, if I should I would not hesitate to use this company.

Weeden Waterproofing gave us an estimate of $13000 to waterproof our basement. He is a very good business person and he is very professional. We thought if the job would not have been done as well as we thought, it would have cost us pretty high. I would probably use them in the future.

I can't recommend John highly enough. He was extremely detailed and specific in his estimate and communicated promptly and clearly about all my questions. He uses the highest quality methods and his crew was the most professional and hardworking of any contractors with whom I've worked. I'm absolutely thrilled with the results of the job and would hire John again without hesitation. I considered 5 different companies and am convinced I choose the best person I could have.

This was by far one of the BEST experiences I've had. John and his workers did a great job, made some good suggestions, and indulged me with a couple things I wanted to do. Didn't cut corners, dug down far enough, power washed my walls, installed drains, coated exterior walls, protected with insulation before backfilling, even replanted my plants. Had HVAC come to disconnect and reconnect AC. I would hire John again in a minute, and would highly recommend anyone in this area consider using him!

John and his employees were wonderful from start to finish. We're new homeowners, so we were very unfamiliar with what was involved with everything that needed to be done. John explained everything in detail, and didn't have us hire him for any more work than was necessary. He is clearly very honest and professional. It is extremely important to us that no water ever get into our basement, so in addition to waterproofing, we wanted to get some sort of back-up sumpump in case of a power outage. He explained different options for the back-up sumpump, and we ended up with a solution we hadn't known existed - thanks to his knowledge and his understanding of our needs. When little unexpected issues arose as they worked on the job, John explained things to us and gave us his recommendations. We needed extra plumbing work and a footer installed under our brick sunporch. John arranged for those contractors; we didn't have to do anything. One of his employees accidentally damaged one of our new gutters. I might not have even noticed it, because the damage was quite minor. John immediately told me about it, then covered the expense of having that gutter replaced. We had previously had a tree and two large shrubs removed to prepare for the waterproofing; John removed another large shrub for us free of charge. It wasn't in the way, but we wanted to have it removed anyway because it looked out of place once the others were gone. He was very kind to take care of it for us. The job took weeks to complete because it was so involved; John and his employees were here promptly every single day as scheduled. They were very friendly to us and to our senior dog. They all knew Max's name and would stop to greet and pet him whenever I had him outside, much to Max's delight. When they were nearing the end of the job, we got some water in our attached garage after two big storms (the water had nothing to do with the job they were doing). John checked our drain and brought us a new replacement cover free of charge. He and his employees are very hard-working and honest, and they went above and beyond to make us happy. We plan to hire them again to install a new driveway for us.

JOHN WEEDEN WAS ABSOLUTELY THE NICEST AND MOST DOWN TO EARTH CONTRACTOR WE'VE DEALT WITH. HE WAS COMPLETELY HONEST AND UP FRONT WITH OUR SITUATION.
