We started looking for a house to buy in March 2011, and viewed one home accompanied only by the buyer's realtor. We realized we were sort of out-manned and out-classed - we didn't know the right questions to ask or what qualities differentiated between a good deal on a house and a great one. While searching for properties to check out, I came upon Andy's website, and read about how he only works with buyers and has tons of experience, so I emailed him and left a message at his home office, unsure which he would check first. He got back with me the next morning and we discussed the list of properties I had come up with. I emailed him the spreadsheet I had made up (and was pleasantly surprised that he was technologically savvy enough to deal with an Excel attachment - we're in a very rural area and people knowledgeable about computers are somewhat rare!), he made some phone calls, and got back with me the very next day with more information on the houses I had selected. Because he listened so carefully to what we were looking for in a house, he was able to help us narrow down our list from 20-some properties to view to a much more manageable 8 that actually fit our needs and desires. He made appointments for viewing half of them that weekend, and we fell in love with the fourth house we saw. He cheerfully tolerated our jitters and indecision, showing us a few houses more than once (so we could be absolutely we had the right one!) with no complaints, just his usual joviality. He talked us through everything and made it all so easy, exchanging many text messages, emails, and phone calls to give us details on the sale status or to guide us through the next step in the process. He directed us to a home inspector who was wonderfully professional and also technologically savvy - the inspection report was in my email box that evening! We had relatives assisting with the financing of the purchase, and Andy made just as great an impression on them as he did us. With his help expediting things, we moved from signed offer to closing in less than a month, and now, less than a month after closing, I'm getting the keys in about 39 hours (I swear I'm not counting down!). I just spoke with him today, which will probably (sadly!) be the last time I talk to him for a while, and in the course of giving me the details on picking up the keys, he told me what a sincere pleasure it had been to work with us. What a nice guy! No headaches, no hassle, no problems; we are just so impressed and couldn't be happier or more satisfied. I've been telling all my friends and posting about it on facebook - Andy Sylvia is GREAT! If you're looking to buy a house, call Andy. Trust me, you'll be doing yourself a HUGE favor.
Description of Work: Andy is a realtor who ONLY works with buyers - he has no inventory of his own, which means he gives you completely unbiased information on the houses you view with him. He does absolutely *EVERYTHING* for the buyers he works with, from scheduling the showings (and even transporting you there in his vehicle, if that's your preference) to providing any advice or help you require towards making a decision to helping you find a reliable (and trustworthy!) home inspector to scheduling the closing and helping get all those ducks in a row. He is a fantastic and prompt communicator who keeps you informed on the developments and won't hesitate to tell you if he thinks a house is a bad deal.
