After month of attempted contact based on the suggestion of my realtor, finally set a service date which he never showed up for and continues to defer communication. Don't waste your time with this flake.

We purchased our home in Ashland, Ohio (331 Samaritan Avenue) in late 2007, and hired Brian to waterproof our basement at the suggestion of our home appraiser (who recommended him). Our basement was in dire need of waterproofing, and Brian gave us a fair estimate and was timely in his coming to do the actual interior drilling/waterproofing/replacement concrete work. He made a mistake in happening to waterproof our basement walls higher than estimated, but did not charge us any extra, counting it as a loss - we appreciated this, and the good work he did. He also installed a new sump pump and battery-powered sump alarm system, but of which performed in a satisfactory manner for approximately two years. As batteries often do, the initial battery he installed began to deteriorate, causing the alarm to sound continuously. I called Brian regarding this issue, and he was somewhat slow in returning my calls, finally responding apologetically while explaining that he had been quite busy. He came to our house at the scheduled time, judging the battery as needing to be replaced while reporting that he would not charge us for the work to replace it (just the cost of the replacement battery itself). He reported that he was uncertain regarding whether or not this actual battery type/alarm system type was still made, but that he would find something comparable if not. He then left, taking the alarm system and faulty batter with him. I never heard from him again. Over the next 3-6 months, I called Brian's cell number and home number on approximately a bi-weekly to monthly basis, leaving voice messages on each asking that he call me back in reference to the replacement battery and alarm system. None of these messages were ever replied to, and he never returned my calls. I eventually left him voicemails explaining that I planned to contact Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau if I did not hear from him soon, sending him a letter at his home address to this effect. Still, I received no phone call or attempt to contact me. As of today (07/01/09), I have yet to hear back from Brian Peacock regarding the sump pump alarm system and battery backup that he told me he would replace. My sump is working well, as is the overall waterproofing job - in short, I have no complaints at all regarding the waterproofing work Brian did. Rather, I simply have complaints regarding the lack of professionality Brian has shown in not returning my phone calls or letter regarding the battery backup and sump pump alarm system. I have no qualms about paying for a new system of this sort, but he refuses to return my attempts to contact him.
