done in one day

To begin with, this job was basically roofing an old farmhouse and detached garage/storage unit. The roofs were in bad shape. The house roof is steep and had slate and a couple different kinds of shingles in different areas. The garage still had asbestos shingles and was in very bad shape. After getting around 4 estimates from other roofers, we chose Fredericksburg. It was between them and another local roofer. Fredericksburg was cheaper and we felt comfortable with them, although the other choice was a close 2nd and probably would have done a very respectable job also. After we signed the contract, it was around 3 weeks when they started the project. They were there early (6:15 am) every day and worked hard through the 90-100 degree heat. (They had to travel from Wooster to Medina every day, which is not a short drive.) They did bend some gutters in a couple of places, but they fixed them when they installed the gutter guards. The reason for the high price of the project is because we chose a very expensive shingle that looks like slate to add "character" to the farmhouse. Roof on the farmhouse is beautiful, and we have already received compliments on it. We had a metal roof installed on the garage. The garage had several dips/bows in it. If I would have to give one bad remark, it would be the backside of the garage still shows some dips, but it is not viewable from the road. The front side they rectified the bowing with some 2x4's and some carpentry, and it looks great. We still need to fix the gutters around the garage, but that will have to come at another time. The side doors were installed with perfection. The workers worked hard the whole time in that intense heat. Even though family members helped pick up around the house, the workers left the place pretty clean. I was very impressed with the office man, David Miller, and the salesman, Eli Troyer. They kept me advised at all times what was going on, and when I had an issue about why they didn't leave any of the unused shingles, they explained their procedure and graciously brought us a bundle for use in the future, if needed. They were pleasant to deal with and always returned messages promptly. Can't say enough about that! Would hire them again. My sister also had gutter guards installed on her house, and if it would ever rain and stop this drought, maybe we can comment about whether they work or not. Anyway, they installed those in like 15-20 minutes.

They came, VERY early to beat the heat / no problem, and when it looked like rain all day, rescheduled for next day, came back on time. Very quick with the tear off, and covered everything with tarps well. Clean up was great when done. Overall the job was quick and painless and looks great. would recommend

Very positive experience start to finish.

I got estimates from three companies. Fredericksburg Builders were close to the bottom in price. We chose them because they were a slightly larger company, and also was impressed with their salesman and attitude. They arrived early in the morning, worked steady all day, completed the job (except the subcontracted gutters, which was done the next day,) and cleaned up and left by 4:00. They were careful about not damaging the flowers and shrubs, of which we have a lot, and did an excellent job of cleaning up. They are very eager to make sure we're satisfied, both in planning the work and after it's completion. We were very happy with the work done and the final appearance.

We received 7 roof estimates bids. The range was from $6000 to $11,500. We chose this builder because they had just finished a neighbors house. They came around the neighborhood asking if any one had work for them to do. We chose them because of the price and the work on our neighbors house. We had an existing leak on our roof. The workers were very fast and finished the job in less than 1.5 days. Our home is 2 story high and the side of the roof is steep. Each day after they worked they cleaned our yard wonderfully. The workers were very courteous. We had a couple of corrections we wanted to have them do and they did it very quickly. We've had two severe rain storms and the leak has been fixed. We are happy with the results and would recommend them to others.
