I was offered the opportunity by the contractor to save money on this job by digging a trench myself instead of paying him to do it. I agreed. He told us to dig the trench 18 inches deep. We did this and he ran pipe down the back of my house until he hit the dirt. Then he only used wire across my entire backyard. When he got to the garage, he used pipe again above ground to the wall of the garage. After the job was done, I had the inspector come. We thought it was weird that he filled the trench halfway back in and told me to go ahead and fill the rest in. When I dug the dirt back up that he put down, I realized that the pipe did not extend past the structures. The inspector told me that the trench was not deep enough for only wire to be run. He should have told me to dig it at least 24 inches or he should have used pipe all the way across my backyard to pass inspection. We had to hire another electrician to come fix his mistakes. He never got a permit to work at my home. He called and cancelled/changed times for work at least 3 times. Most times it was a couple of hours before he was supposed to show up. This messed up my only day off quite often. I feel that he took advantage of a single mom who had no knowledge of electrical codes/prices. I was told by other electricians after the job was done that he was very overpriced. I would not recommend Stuller Electric for any job, big or small.
Description of Work: Ran power from my house to my garage. Installed one outlet outside and one outlet inside.

Everything this man did in my home failed inspection. The new breaker panel was not grounded at all. He doubled up neutral conductors on the neutral bar. He did not install the proper breakers according to electrical code when he installed new circuits (outlets). We tried to label our breaker panel when he "finished" the job. We turned all power on in every room and flipped off one breaker at a time. Nothing went off when we turned the breakers off! We did this all the way up the panel on one side with nothing happening, then up the other side. When we turned off number 5, my entire house went dark. He somehow wired this panel so that number 5 had to be off for anything else to go off! He had to get help from a friend because he couldn't figure out why (after he changed a switch), my ceiling fan/light was getting double the current it should have. He left this problem for almost two weeks before he came to fix it. My ceiling fan was never off for this period of time, when the switch was off, the fan was still moving at a slow speed and the light was on and dim. He never figured out why I lost power in the bedroom wall. He just tapped into a working outlet, then ran wire molding around the baseboard to the non-working outlet and then jumped that power to the other side of the wall that wasn't working. He did not install the proper breaker here either according to code. When a new electrician was hired to fix his mistakes, that electrician discovered crossed wires in the outlet a foot and a half from my toddler's bed. The new electrician told me that this was a definite fire hazard. If a fire had started in this wall, my child would be dead. When he installed new outlets in my dining room, he sawed a hole way too big so even when the cover was on, there was such a big hole that it failed inspection because you could fit your fingers into it. He also drilled a hole through my kitchen cabinet that was in the wrong place, then had to drill another hole in my cabinet in the right place. He chipped plaster off of my kitchen wall when installing that outlet. He expected me to fix his damage to my home. In no way had he ever discussed the possibility of damage to my home, let alone, making it my responsibility. I had no idea that his bid was so overpriced because he sells himself very well. The new electrician did everything he did all over again for a third of his price. Please do yourself a favor and do not trust this man to come to your home.

We had hurricane Sandy here and our electricity had got torn out outside the house. It was real interesting to get hold of an electrician because we did not have electricity for 6 days and 19 hours. Where we live we have some old big trees as big as mountains and they fall down a lot. He was great. The insurance told me that he was right in line as far as for the work he did and the cost was right average. His work was done before the electrical company came out and retested the wires outside. So we were ready to go when the electrical company was ready to go. The electrical thing out there was 50 years or something and Stuller was really nice and got it done.
Description of Work: We had Stuller Electric to do electrical work after the hurricane. He replaced the 100 amp outside service, added a ground wire/rod/cable/phone ground block, he got a permit from the City and added some grounding in the basement.
