We had just moved to the area and Stan's name had been referred to us from a handyman we use. Our experience with Stan went very well! He was on time, explained everything thoroughly and didn't try to sell us on a whole new roof like the previous roofer we went with. Our roof is only 8 years old. We went with him even though his bid was higher since we knew he wouldn't cut corners with the job. He even referred us to another homeowner with a similar house and similar problem. That homeowner was very pleased with Stan's work. Stan likes to talk but that's just his personality. If you want the problem fixed, Stan is the man!

He was a high bidder. The range was probably $9,000-$12,500 and he was the $12,500. He really tried to sell himself. He was an over guy so he talked and talked. He spent a lot of time talking to me. I guess he just had to get the bid and he just kind of went on and on about different things, and the fall that he took. He fell off the ladder and broke his hip or back. He told me that he was a quality contractor so he was trying to sell himself, but the price was high. I ended up not using anybody. I decided not to do it so I never got the job done. He came when he said he was coming. I wouldn't hire him because his price is high.

Tried to repair leak in roof, ended up not being able to fix it. We needed a whole new roof and they were way too expensive so we went with someone else.

Let's begin with the fact that Stan is prompt, courteous and knowledgable! I only wish I'd known about Stan last year before I hired someone far less qualified and honest to replace our main roof and gutters! When my basement began leaking this summer I knew something wasn't right. A friend suggested that I call Stan and I'm glad I did. Not only was the new flashing on my chimney incomplete, my new downspouts were not directing the water away from the house, and I had no idea that the old gutters on our addition also should have been replaced! Fortunately Stan knew, and he explained matters in terms that I understood. Stan goes above and beyond quality service! He not only solved my problem, he also checked back with me to be certain that all was well and recommended other quality professionals whose services have also proved to be very reliable and reasonable - especially if you (like me) are on a fixed income. Thank Goodness for Stan !

The owner was very knowledgeable and experienced. The workmen completed my roofing repair on time. We have had a number of storms since the repair and I am sure that the leak is fixed .

The employees who put my roof on were wonderful. The work they did was good but the estimator told me they would put a cap on my chimney but never sent the crew to do it. The crew was very professional but the estimator was not and I would use the crew again but not the estimator.

I'm very disappointed that a highly rated company on Angie's List did not have the courtesy to respond.

Overall, I appreciated his honesty.

They were friendly to work with. They were meticulous as far as cleaning was concerned. They did a very thorough job. It wasn’t a rush job, it was done right. I would use them in the future.

I chose Stan's Roofing and Building because of the information on his website and Angie's List. ( I also checked with two other companies.) I wanted the work done right because of all the problems our old roof had. Stan did the inspection himself and took the time to explain everything. From tear off and repair to new installation everything met or exceeded my expectations. Debri clean up was efficient and thorough - tarps to protect the ground, magnet sweep for any nails, etc. I went out several times during each day to see what they were doing and was very satisfied with the work done. Stan oversaw everything. Because of his concerns about our chimney flashing problems, he did the work himself. He is very conscientious. I never noticed roofs much before, but now I do. By comparison, I have a well-done, outstanding looking roof. I am extremely pleased with Stan's work.

He was very honest in telling me that my house did not need a new roof. He told me the issues with the roof. His estimate was much higher than I wanted.

He is excellent. He sort of came with the house, he is the guy who had put the house on before we bought it fifteen years ago. He was recommended to us by the people that had the house previously and we've been very happy with his work. I would use him again if needed.
