TCD Cleaning

I contracted with TCD for duct cleaning in early November. They did show up on the assigned date, and I was initially impressed with the serviceman. I did agree to mold treatment to be on the safe side, but I realized it may be a bit of a scam (they blow an organic mist that smells like thyme into your ducts). I wanted a UV light for each furnace, and I signed up for the maintenance plan which would mean another cleaning in two years for much less money. After I paid, the serviceman told me he only had one UV light on his truck, not two. It was later in the evening, and he told me he would stop by the following evening and install both lights. I didn't hear from him for a few days, and when I called, he told me that the company was still waiting to get them into stock, but it would definitely be the following week. Two weeks went by, no communication, and when I finally reached him, I was told that they still hadn't received the lights. I told him that was hard to believe when I could order the exact same UV light (at half the price) from Amazon with one day delivery. He told me that he would definitely be out that week. Another couple weeks go by, no contact. Incredible difficulty in reaching the serviceman. I could not leave messages on his cell number because his mailbox was full, and when I called the main company number (an Atlanta number), they simply told me they would pass on the message. I finally reached him after three weeks, and he told me "Oh, I thought someone else had completed that job". He agreed to come the following day, a Saturday, and I waited around that morning and afternoon. He called in the evening and said "things have come up at home, I'll be out tomorrow morning". I waited around that Sunday, couldn't leave a voice message because his mailbox was full, and that is the last contact I have had with the company. I sat down and typed a letter to the company explaining the situation. I told them that I wanted reimbursed for $270: $150 for the UV light I never received, and $120 for the maintenance plan I no longer wanted since I did not want them in my house again. I mailed the letter to the address on my invoice, which is the same as the address on their website. It returned to me today as "Return to Sender, Not Deliverable as Addressed, Unable to Forward" I can't say that I am terribly surprised. I knew that I would never take them to court for that amount of money (the total bill was less than $1000, and the cost and hassle of litigation isn't worth it), but I told them in the letter that if I did not receive a check for $270, I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and write about my experience on Angie's List. I have already filed my BBB complaint, and you have just finished reading this review. My only advice is to find someone else for your job. UPDATE 2-18-16 Just a follow up on my "F" review from last month. I filed a formal complaint with the local Better Business Bureau the same day I submitted my review of this company on Angie's List. The BBB sent me an e-mail this morning stating that TCD Cleaning failed to respond to their inquiry. So let's recap: They didn't perform services that were paid for, they were nearly impossible to reach by phone, my letter to their business address was "Return to Sender" because the address had apparently changed (although it is still the address listed on all of their invoices and website), and they feel no need to respond to the Better Business Bureau. Is this really a company you want to do business with?
