Barger & Son Tree Service

CONSUMERS BEWARE! DO NOT DO any type of business with Matthew Barger of Barger’s Tree Services / Barger and Son Tree Services. He is very unprofessional, no integrity and the firewood is falsely advertised! The wood we got was not seasoned nor ready to burn. Had to use a starter log and the moisture boiled, steamed and hissed out the ends along with the excess creosote. Had moisture meter readings of 27% and higher with some maxing out the meter at 50%. After offering to exchange and scheduling a time, they block your phone number and social media. As well as delete the advertisement on Facebook Market Place and create new ones. You can find plenty of online reviews, previous consumer complaints filed with Ohio Attorney General as well as court records proving a history of bad business and dishonest character.

Terrible is an understatement. We paid these guys their full amount ($725) in JANUARY to remove one tree and grind two stumps. They had the tree halfway down and had to stop due to rain, which was fine. However, they never came back (except to get their materials out of our yard). My husband's texts and calls have gone unanswered. I tried something a little different and called from my office phone, and magically someone answered. He said his son did the job, and he apologized and said someone would be out in 5-6 days. But no one showed. It's mid-May, and they have our money, and left a bunch of chopped wood laying in our back yard. I've never dealt with a more unprofessional company. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS!

Very prompt, very reasonably priced, very quick yet carefully done work. Highly recommend them. (Note, we actually worked with Rob, who is Matt's dad, and Billy, who is the extremely agile man who climbs the trees.)

The job was okay. They were not prepared for the job at hand. The equipment they came with was not correct for the job. The work took 2 1/2 days and it should have only taken one day. They are a landscaping company trying to do trees service basically. I would not use them again for tree service but would consider other lawn jobs.

Saw tree service company at a neighbor doing tree removal. Asked if he would give an estimate to remove trees for us. Upon receipt of estimate, he included a price to power wash a very old uncared for deck. He also offered to remove and haul away the shed in addition to the tree debris. Upon completion, we were very pleased with the work and the condition f the yard. The deck was such an improvement and Rob even gave ideas of how to preserve the wood.
