Description of Work: They mulched, trimmed bushes, pulled weeds, edged back flower beds by a few inches. Our yard went from looking overgrown to the prettiest yard in the neighborhood in a few hours. It made our yard easier to keep up afterwards.

The crew arrived on time on the scheduled day and completed the work quickly. The plants & trees looked beautiful & worked well with Bob's design. Doug's idea of curving the bed out farther on the side to incorporate the walkway was great! We were not pleased with the size of the boulders used, the scale just wasn't right. Doug came back that same evening & replaced 3 of boulders. For the 4th boulder we had to wait just over 3 months, not the customer service we've come to expect from Bard's. Overall, though, we are pleased.
Description of Work: This is our second project with Bard's, the first was completed in June 2008 & has been reviewed previously. This project was for Bard's to redo the landscaping in the front & along 1 side of our home, they also prepped a flower bed on the other side of the house.

Doug Bard showed up with his crew just as scheduled. They worked quickly and were happy to work around our preschooler in the yard. The project was scheduled to take 2 days, they brought 2 crews & finished in 1 amazing day! They removed some old landscaping, added topsoil, reworked the planting beds, planted 10 different trees & countless perinials. They added gravel as stated in the design to some low lying areas. Our bubble rock fountain that they dug and built is no doubt our son's favorite. They set in 2 paver walkways and then seeded areas as needed. They then mulched around all of the plantings. Our backyard looks fabulous! We loved the results! The Bard's team is tremendous.
Description of Work: Bob Bard developed a fantastic design for our back yard renovation. He came to our home to see the space and get a feel for our desires. He kept our budget and busy schedules in mind, choosing low maintaince perenials. He also full filled all of our request. Bob's design put our ideas on paper & gave us some things we hadn't thought about! Bob recommended our hardscape contractor, Homescapes, who also did a fabulous job.

They did a very nice job. The two workmen were professional, accommodating, and cordial. We normally get several estimates, but we couldn't find these trees at the other places we tried, so, if allowed, I'm going to leave the grade for price empty. If forced to give a grade, I will give a "C," because I have nothing to compare it too. The price we paid may be good, poor, or competitive. To me, the price seems high, but we agreed to it, and I think everything is expensive. I would use Bard's again.

Bob has been great to work with and kept our budget and timeframe in mind in his design. I had provided some ideas about what I wanted in our backyard and the general patio shape, and he created a total plan we really like. He told us what we should focus our budget on first and what could be put off a year or two (or more). When it was time to pick trees, Bob made some great recommendations I hadn't considered and walked me around the nursery to look at the different options. The trees they installed are very nice and have been doing quite well, and the mulch they used is a nice dark color with little odor. Even without additional plantings, my backyard looks great! I'll definitely use Bard's for the rest of the landscaping.
Description of Work: Bob Bard came out and looked at my backyard and drew up a plan and estimate for landscaping around a new patio that could be done over a few years. After we had the patio installed, Bard's planted 4 large trees and laid mulch beds around the patio to prepare for future planting.

We were very pleased with the work performed by Bard Landscaping. The crew arrived on time and worked until the job was completed. We were very pleased with the design and with the quality of the plants. We plan on having them come back to perform some other work next year. The price was a bit higher then we wanted, but they provided the best design and were the most professional of all the landscaper we met with.

Very pleased with the work performed. They had a 6 man crew and banged the work out in 2 days. They were a good bunch of hard-working young men lead by Doug Bard. The cost was split about 1/3 for plants, 1/3 for dirt/mulch and 1/3 for labor. A good amount/variety of plants, too. I got estimates from 5 or 6 landscapers and Bard's was competitively priced (although the price grew as I changed certain plans along the way) and they implemented some of my ideas including a small (1.5' tall x 25' long) retaining wall. Also their nursery has the widest selection of quality plants of all the landscape nurseries I got quotes from. I will have them back in the fall or spring to do a few other plantings.

This company was the most reasonable of 3 estimates. The owner was helpful an showed me ways to add to the project at a later time. The trees were healthy. He called to tell me when and who was installing. The work was done by nursery employees. I was satisfied with the experience.
Description of Work: After giving me some options on how to landscape a big back yard and patio area, the owner gave an estimate at that time. I could do the total job or partial. Three 6 foot spruce trees were installed. The job was done soon after my request.
