We understood that with this type of project many variables could change the estimate. He also took our wishes into account in order to preserve key original elements (railing and posts) where possible. We always knew when people would be on-site, or days that they would be off. He addressed any concerns we had immediately and to our satisfaction. We would absolutely hire Stone's construction again in the future.

They worked hard even in cold temperatures. They were very friendly and professional throughout the process. The new gutters make the house shine. I love coming home to our beautiful house.
Description of Work: We needed a complete remodel of our home. It needed new windows and siding. There was a draft, old wooden shingles that were rotting, and the windows were when the house was built in the 40s. Gutters were in need of maintenance too.

Stone's removed the damaged wood, repaired the structural damage and covered the remaining exposed wood to prevent further damage. They also repaired damaged gutters which had contributed to the damage. Stone's crew was prompt, professional and did excellent work. We plan on hiring them again in the future.

 + 0 moreChad came out on a Wednesday and I had my estimate on Friday. I had 2 other people come out and no one sent me estimates. Work started the following week. Lew and Mike were wonderful, very professional, hard working and on time. They were a pleasure to work with. All the different crews were professional and cleaned up at the end of the day. Chad fixed my mouse problem and totally enclosed the sun room to be a 3 seasons room. At times, I didn't know when people were coming, but it wasn't a problem since I was working from home most days. The job was finished in less than a month and my sun room looks terrific, as does my deck. I would definitely use Stone construction again.
Description of Work: Part of my deck needed to be replaced and my sun room needed to be gutted. I was also having mouse issues, they were eating through the redwood deck and the concrete blocks.

 + -1 moreFlooring removal and master bath demo done within 4 weeks of signing contract. Flooring was installed as soon as flooring order arrived. Master bath work done efficiently. There was a delay in some of the remodel of master bath due to delay of shower and vanity installation, which was done through a different company, but as soon as they were installed, they returned to complete the bath the next day. Kitchen countertop removed same week new countertop installed. Professional execution of the contract. Would use them again.

 + 2 moreI couldn't even get them to come out and do the work. They came out and gave me an estimate in mid April on a dozen items or so, some of which I wasn't ready to get done quite yet, but about half of them I needed done soon. To be honest, the estimate seemed quite high for the list of minor stuff I needed done. The estimate was for every item I asked about, EVEN THOUGH i said i needed a breakdown at the time of the estimate since I wasn't going to get everything done at once. So I called at least 4 or 5 times trying to get a break down of the items so I could schedule the work, and time after time they told me they'd get me the break down. 2 months later, I get an email giving me a bunch of excuses why they can't break down the estimate. I could tell he wasn't interested in doing the work because after after 4 or so call he says, "we're backed up 3 months at this point". Avoid Stone's Construction!
Description of Work: about 9 or 10 small items. Some of which I wanted done immediately and a few I wanted to get done later in the fall.

 + 2 moreThe addition is absolutely gorgeous, nothing like an addition "traditionally" looks like. It appears as if it was built with the house, and is beautiful inside and out. The basement is coming along wonderfully as well. We also had them build the most beautiful Trex wrap around deck I have ever seen.

 + -1 moreThey came out fairly promptly. They were very professional and gave me a very detailed, two page, written estimate, but they're estimate was one of the higher cost one's that I received. I didn't go with them because of the cost, otherwise I didn't have any problems with what they were proposing to do. One of the problems with their estimates was for labor and all of the cost for materials was going to be extra. We didn't have an estimate from them on what the cost of all of the materials would be.
Description of Work: They came out and gave me an estimate for two bathroom remodeling projects.

The two Master Carpenter's, electrician, plumber, foundation and concrete guys, Demolition, painting, ALL Chad's team are talented, professional, experienced, smart working, kind and courteous. Chad has gone out of his way to match up materials, siding, soffit, etc. with my existing 1956 exterior and accommodate my vision for the interior renovation. The guys clean up and organize the sight EVERY day before leaving. These guys aim to please making a normally very stressful undertaking way less distressing and often fun!
Description of Work: Total Renovation of Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Bathroom, Master walk in Closet. Along with a Large addition for upstairs Master Bedroom and Bathroom, Downstairs Recreation Room for swimming pool and Sauna. Two new Decks, New Roof.

I'm a retired Maintenance/Construction Manager and can appreciate a good attitude and good work. Description of Work: I purchased a home in Portage Lakes using an FHA 203K loan. I hired Stone's Construction to complete the $31,000 renovation of the property to satisfy FHA's requirements. It's difficult to find a contractor familiar with the 203K loan process. Stone's Construction handled all the confusing paperwork and dealt with the loan company and all the inspectors with no problems. Chad Stone, his office staff and the crew, definitely made my life easier through this project. If you need a general contractor to take charge of an FHA 302K loan, or any contracting need, don't hesitate to contact Stone's Construction. This project included a new concrete patio and sidewalk, roof and gutter repairs, two exterior doors removal with matching siding, several windows and a new French patio door, electrical upgrades, basement sealing, exterior grading and miscellaneous carpentry interior work. The deck they built on the patio to access the new French doors is beyond compare. Overbuilt comes to mind. They accommodated my physical handicap whenever possible and I feel very safe around their work.
