Description of Work: I called this company to go over to a house I rent out to other people. I told them in advance the thermostat might be faulty. When they got there the didn't even look at the thermostat but went directly downstairs to look at the furnace. Then the technician went to his truck and called me to tell me there was a part not working and it would cost 600.00 to 700.00 dollars to fix the problem. Agter asking several questions and getting answers that didn't make sense, I ask the technician to leave without doing anything else. I called another company ( Kimble) they came out and replaced the thermostat and all was good. Oh, and by the way, the guy from Lowry told me he could smell gas, I called Dominion they came out right away and said there wasn't any gas leak. So, BEWARE, bad news all the way around

Description of Work: My heater was not working when I arrived home from work. The ignitor on the heater had cracked and would not light the burners. I called Lowry at 11:00pm and a technician arrived within the hour. He had the part installed and my heater running again within the hour. He explained everything and warned me about another potential problem going forward, but not severe enough to warrant fixing at this time.

+ -1 moreThe part he needed was not is stock. He had to order one and did so and got it within one day from Columbus.. He sent his helper back to install the special order and my furnace is now silent!! This company is worth waiting for but try to call ahead as there are only several repairmen. I have depended on Greg for over 35 years. He is a man of integrity. This company was his father's and now his and even he is getting old. It's hard to replace his honesty and personal service in the new marketplace where everyone is trying to sell customers what they do not need.
Description of Work: We had a terrible rumble when the furnace turned on. It sounded like it may just blow up. It got worse and worse every time the fan came on. Greg Installed a new fan in the furnace blower. He could have told me I needed a new furnace and I would have believed him.

Description of Work: Our furnace went out Christmas eve! We thought it was the pilot igniter (gas) that went bad. He came with parts to install but it only needed cleaned! He didn't charge us for the parts he had ordered and was so nice! He has replaced our air conditioner 3 yrs ago with the same high quality service.

+ -1 moreCalled them. Greg came over same day and spent over 1 1/2 hours diagnosing the problem. Did not charge me for the service call as the furnace had been installed less than 2 years. Greg followed up with a phone call the next day to make sure it was working OK.

+ -1 moreLowry worked with the manufacturer to get the part delivered (for free as the part was under warranty) and Lowry did the installation which was $600 and took the whole day. About 15 years ago, they also removed my steam boiler and installed forced air (heat and air conditioning) and had to install duct work throughout the house. They did a great job and each night they cleaned-up after themselves. They also installed air conditioning for my brother, mom and day, and my father-in-law. Overall, we have all been pleased with their work, showing up on time, and cleaning up after the job.

+ -1 moreWhat good and honest people Lowry Furnace Company is and their HAVC knowledge is fantastic! They could have easily told us that our furnace needed a new regulator and charged over $500 plus for it. They came in and checked the ignitor and determined that it was the problem, cleaned, checked the rest of the furnace made some adjustments and it fired right up! They had to go out of their way just to find a part on Saturday,no extra or restocking fee even though it's not a part they normally carry. They also put our air conditioner in 2 years ago and it runs great, again well done at a reasonable cost. I plan to purchas a new furnace and they will be the only people I will call to do the job!
Description of Work: Our furnace kept shutting off, we called at least 3 times Friday night and they tried to help us before we determined it was the regulator valve. They were so helpful, they had to hunt down a $300 part ( our furnace is 12 yrs old) before coming Saturday morning. They came and cleaned the igniter, did a couple of adjustments put in a new air filter ($65), and was done in 30-45 minutes!

+ 0 moreThey are really good. They were friendly. They got to work right away and didn’t fool around. They were neat. We had our vents cleaned and they didn’t get dirt and soot everywhere. They weren’t horribly expensive. I thought it was pretty cool that they did not sell me a new furnace after examining my current unit.

The problem was diagnosed before they opened the unit based on similar calls from the area and the high temperatures. The unit was operating in 10 minutes from start to finish. The tech stuck around to be sure the unit was working properly. He did this by taking measurements from the inside around the duct work. Great job.
Description of Work: Replaced a capacitor that was blown from the electrical storm. The were very fast and efficient.

Description of Work: Drain tube from the air conditioner was partially obstructed and was dripping water on the attic floor where it had been installed a few years ago. Also the drain trap had not been installed properly. Lowry cleared the drain pipe and installed a new drain trap. We have not had any more problems.

Service man called Greg (owner) and he came to house within the hour. I was thinking about a bigger unit but they reviewed the house ducts etc and said I did not need bigger unit. Asked if I would like installed next day. My father and I have used this company for a number of years(over 5years). Starting using them when McCrutcheons went out of business. Had tried other A/C for yearly and were not satisfied. We call them once a year for a check up on Furnace and Air.
Description of Work: Air Conditioner did not appear to functioning. Called to have service to do yearly check up. They were unable to repair even though they spent about 1.5 hours. Tried to use sealant and put in more freon. Still did not work. Told service man that I would like to purchase a new unit. The one I had was about 12 years old and out of warranty. Service man called Greg and he came to the house within one hour. I was thinking I needed a bigger unit and they reviewed and said I would be better with the smaller unit. He said would I like it installed tomorrow. So they installed next day. They cleaned up their mess and disposed of all boxes and old unit. My father and I have used this company for a number of years (over 5years). Starting using them when McCrutcheons went out of business. Had tried other A/C for yearly check ups and were not satisfied. We have them yearly for check up on furnace and Air.

He was extremely knowledgeable about Lennox equipment, gave good recommendations, answered questions thoroughly, and did his homework when he didn't know answers immediately. Because the homeowners are an engineer and a physicist, the questions were many and not easy. He did a better job than the other candidates in answering honestly and fully. He quoted a very fair price, did the work in a reasonable amount of time, kept to his schedule, and worked around several unexpected setbacks/ venting issues. His bill matched his quote. Very professional and knowledgeable team of workers.

+ -1 moreThey were on time, very polite, and $500 cheaper than their closest competitor. The owner of the company came out at 8 pm when we called with a concern. He not only addressed that concern, but stayed to clean our A/C coils. He even had me take a picture of the "before" coils and send it to his office for training. (Previous owners ran without a furnace filter -- it was very clogged.) The installers even took pains to route the exhaust runs so that they wouldn't block some shelves on the basement wall. We didn't ask them to, they just did it.
Description of Work: Installed new furnace and water heater. Lennox top-of-the-line furnace, Rheem top-of-the-line 50 gallon water heater.
