When we decided to finish out our basement we got estimates from 4 different contractors, we certainly made the right choice. I can’t recommend John & his team enough! The transformation of our basement has been a great experience, from quote to finish the process has been smooth. You can tell that John & crew care, not just about the job they do, but that we were happy along the way too. The communication has been great, the website was very helpful to track the schedule, payments, balance and messages. The quality of the work is exactly as expected, we couldn’t be happier. John uses his own employees, all of whom have worked for him for many years, the subs that he’s brought in only augment his team and have worked with John for many years. No worries of the contractor agreeing the job and then subbing out the work to the lowest bidder. John worked with us when we wanted to make some changes, and he even suggested some things that we were unsure of.

Details of the project were communicated well. All the contractors were polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. The project work was finished within the expected timeline. We are happy with the quality of work at a valuable cost.

They sent us weekly schedules so we knew what was happening, and the guys were there all day, every day, busting their butts. We’ve had lousy luck with contractors before, but John’s crew was different—total pros. The basement turned out better than we pictured. The living room walls are reclaimed barnwood with these cool old beams hung up perfect, and the stone fireplace they put in is flat-out gorgeous. They had some smart ideas as we went along that made it even better. Couldn’t ask for a harder-working bunch—John’s team is the best we’ve dealt with. If you’re picking between him and somebody else, go with John. You’ll be glad you did. Five stars, hands down!
