Went incredibly well. Estimate was what I expected. Work was meticulous and with great attention to detail. We had walls and showers of vitrolite and Aaron was able to save it all for us...key importance to us. He arrived when he said, covered floors and work area and cleaned up at the end of the days. Am already thinking of a list of other items I need tackled in the future. work took six days total but we had no real inconvenience. Answered any and all questions I had. Very knowledgeable.

Aaron is amazing. He had done a smaller project for me in the past and was the only person I thought of when I decided to give my kitchen a face lift. He is responsive, professional and very easy to work with. He left my kitchen so clean everyday I nearly forgot there was a project going on. I highly recommend Aaron for any job, big or small and will definitely call him for my next project.

Aaron and his team arrived on time. They were very meticulous in covering furniture and flooring. Aaron removed the damaged ceiling section and carefully replaced it. He primed and painted the entire living room ceiling. The result was perfect; it looked like a brand new ceiling. The walls and floors around the radiators were carefully masked. Several needed extensive prep work as they were rusty or peeling. Again the finished paint job was excellent. The half bath was difficult in that it was small. Aaron repaired the holes caused by plumbing pipes being run. He removed all evidence of the former wall paper, and painted the ceiling, walls and trim. The results again were beautiful; I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely hire Highland Square Restoration for future painting and remodeling needs.
Description of Work: I called Highland Square Restoration for a quote on repairing and painting a water-damaged living room ceiling and preparing and painting nine radiators. I also needed large holes in the wall and ceiling of a half bath repaired. The bathroom had been wall papered, the adhesive needed to be removed, and the entire room sanded, primed and painted.

Description of Work: Aaron repaired several areas on my ceilings where the plaster was chipping and stained. He is careful and neat with his work and took care to cover my furniture and floors. He repaired the plaster and then did touch up painting. He also replaced a missing baseboard in our kitchen by removing a matching piece from the closet. He crafted a really great replacement piece to put back in the closet; the pattern is almost exact and unless you look carefully you would never notice that it's not the exact same pattern. At the end of the day he vacuumed all of his work areas thoroughly and left everything wonderfully clean. We will certainly call on him in the future for other projects.

Aaron is a creative, reliable and skilled professional. Over a period of 9 months, at least six plasters had looked or attempted to fix the plaster crown molding damaged by a roof leak in my living room. Aaron came up with a creative approach, ordered the materials and repaired it in two days. He also did a fantastic job on the venetian plastering in a room we were renovating including inserting random a brick pattern that echoed the outside stucco pattern. Aaron also resurfaced basement walls that continually peel paint due to moisture. Along the way, he noticed some plumbing fixtures that were deteriorating and offered to fix that as well. I highly recommend Aaron and am very satisfied with his work.
He did an excellent job and did extra work and under his estimated amount it would cost to get the job done.

He was considerate and neat and very well prepared and we are so grateful for this as, it was very difficult to face our repair needs during the holiday season. He tried to save us as much clean up as possible, very considerate. We will definitely use Highland Square Plaster and Restoration again and again.
Description of Work: Aaron Replaced a large chunk of our living room ceiling which fell out due to a horrible water leak, and our ceilings are original 1915 plaster, also repaired two sections of plaster ceiling in the foyer, and did a wonderful job on all three, was a prompt, professional perfectionist in his work and in preparation and clean up.

I left my work # (governmental agency in the next county), with no return phone calls, but I wasn't getting replies from a couple other drywall repair services either. Thought I would try one more time leaving the home #. He said he dropped his phone in a bucket of water, and lost his messages from a couple wks. prior! Glad I followed-up. Aaron did start work on the day he said (just an hour or so later~not unusual for contractors, which I didn't mind). He said it could take 2 and and half days, but he was done working with a partner within a day and a half. Better to underpromise, and over deliver! Price as quoted. I did get a quote from another co. in between, but he only wanted to put up a board, and drywall in the spring. I was impressed the first evening just to see the ceiling flat, where it had bowed out a couple inches! To me it could have been done, except to match the swirl pattern from 1964! But I still need to paint it. I need to find out what kind of paint I will need in the spring! Overall, good job!

Mr. Stefanko responded to my initial call promptly. We scheduled a time for him to come and make an estimate. He was very receptive to our different ideas and gave us pricing accordingly. His estimates were very reasonable. He was personable and professional. We would have selected this company to do the work, but my husband decided to complete the work himself.

We are so pleased we chose Aaron and Highland Square Restoration. Aaron called when he would be a few minutes late, he cleaned the site very well when finished for the day, and his work is exceptional. He addressed my concerns for environmental indoor air quality issues. He even completed a couple of requests for no additional charge. It was such a pleasure to work with him that we will utilize his other services when we have a need. I will also be recommending him for my design clients.
Description of Work: Our home is very old circa 1911 with plaster and lathe walls. Areas of plaster in the bedroom, office and bathroom were cracking and falling from the ceiling. Aaron fixed, patched and retextured the ceilings and walls in those three rooms as well as a small space in the hallway. The areas repaired look like they have lived in this house for years.

We had a leak in our bathroom that affected the dining room ceiling. Aaron not only fixed the ceiling, but when we asked, he fixed the ceiling in our entry way as well. After talking to him about the renovations we were making to our kitchen, we hired him to move a cabinet over to make room for our new refridgerator. Also, he built a cabinet to hold our new over the stove microwave. He did a great job and are very please with the work. We will call him again as we move forward with more renovations.
Description of Work: He did plaster repair on our ceilings in the dining room and the entry way. He was clean, professional and very helpful in recommending solutions to issues on another project. As a result, we had him help us move some cabinetry in the kitchen and even build a cabinet for our new microwave. We are very pleased with his work.

I had talked to a number of contractors about my vision for an eco-bathroom but did not find any that were enthusiastic about the project until talking with Aaron. He was sympathetic with the notion of sustainability and had experience in using recycled materials. He suggested using barn slate in the shower stall and showed me how he used this material in his own kitchen. We found barn slate for sale at a farm in Medina for one dollar per piece. The shower stall design is based upon my request for a corner seat and the inclusion of glass block on one side of the stall to bring more light into the stall. Although he had never worked with showercork before, Aaron was willing to undertake their use and did a fantastic installation, recommending the best color for the grouting. Aaron has an art background and understood from the start that I was interested in creating both a beautiful and sustainable bathroom spa-like atmosphere. Aaron worked with a handyman, Ilya Paoluccie, who did the plumbing and electric work in the bathroom project. They set up a temporary toilet area in the basement for the duration of the project and were always courteous and considerate of my personal needs during the project which lasted from the end of August to early October. Aaron is now doing an eco-remodel of my kitchen. He is meticulous, conscientious and a true artist with his materials. My bathroom is the most unique bathroom in the city!
Description of Work: Bathroom was completely remodeled along eco-friendly lines with sustainable no to low VOC materials. I researched products and materials and purchased them for the job. We used recycled glass tiles for the bathroom walls, barn slate for the shower stall and showercork flooring for the shower basin and for the rest of the bathroom floor. The old tub torn out and replaced with shower stall built to my specifications. Aaron built the shower doors with tempered glass and mahogany wood to withstand moisture from the shower. A recycled textured glass window was added to the shower enclosure to let in more light and provide visual appeal. An access to the attic space was created in order to install a bathroom fan. Shelving was designed and built for towel storage. The window was rebuilt and made energy efficient with weather stripping and caulking. An old recycled ladder was cut and painted to use as a towel hanger. Ultra modern energy efficient bathroom fixtures by Toto were installed. The only elements from the old bathroom that were maintained were the medicine cabinet and accompanying light fixtures (all with LED bulbs). Aaron repainted the medicine cabinet, installed sustainable bamboo shade, and repaired, prepped and painted the walls and ceilings. He framed the ceiling opening with wood and replaced the bathroom door with one purchased from the ReStore. Finally, he created two beautiful mosaic flowers as a decorative focus in the shower stall. Please note that the cost listed is for labor only. Materials and fixtures not included.
