+ -1 moreDonamarc was one 3 estimates that we received to replace our well pump. Given the age and condition of the pump, we received estimates between $1,200-$8000.00 - if the pump was not able to be retrieved and replaced, a new well would have to be drilled. Donamarc had someone out to investigate the problem the same day, and their higher estimate was $1,000.00 less than the others. After we decided to go with Donamarc, they had a crew out within a few hours. Mike and his crew were amazing, very professional, pleasant and respectful. They not only replaced the pump, they did it quickly an efficiently. They did have to come back a second day to update the electrical, but left us with running water and on day 2 were in and out in under an hour. I have already recommended them to some friends.

Description of Work: We've had pump and well problems for the entire 15 years we have lived in this house, and water pressure has been horrible. When we lost even more water pressure this summer, we asked our next door neighbors who they had used for their well last summer. Their water pressure is superb! We called Donamarc and they came right out, surveyed the situation and gave us an estimate for a new submersible pump, holding tank and a whole house filtration system. Their crew was out very quickly and in less than 3 hours we had the best water pressure ever!

They have replaced the pump, the bladder tank, the neutralizer system, and they perform annual check ups. They are very professional, courteous, prompt, etc. Excellent work. I will continue to use them in the future.

+ -1 moreThe workman was going to try and fix the old part but couldn’t so he came back and brought the new one. This seemed to fix the problem. So I paid them and afterwards I looked over the system and noticed that he left a bypass valve partially open (it connects hard water to soft) which causes an increase in pressure. The bypass was supposed to be closed, so when it was closed the water pressure returned to the way it had been before he came. I made a second appointment, and they came back out and cleaned the pipes. This however added another $135.00 to the bill which totaled up close to $500. The part we put in didn’t even solve the problem in the first place. The pipe was getting plugged and only needed to be cleaned. The work was good, but I ended up paying for a part and extra service charge that I didn't need.
Description of Work: I was experiencing issues with low water pressure. They came out and checked the system and said there was one part (an expensive one) that needed to be changed.

+ -1 moreWe liked their services. The only problem we had was when they were to put bleach in the well and have it tested. When it was tested, it did not pass. We had to pay to have it done again. We just don't believe that they did the chlorine test properly.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived as scheduled and I showed him the 3 things that needed attention. He checked the water qualilty from the reverse osmosis system and changed the pre- and post-filters. He showed me how to change them myself which I apreciated. The old well cap was cracked and was replaced with a new one. My house is old and has seen every type of plumbing that has ever been used. The old pipe between the pressue tank and the water softener was partly plastic pipe with hose clamps and partly galvanized. The galvanized pipe had started to leak and corrode. The technician replaced all of the old pipe with copper and part of the copper pipe to the softener to straighten the connection, which he didn't have to do. There was a galvanized "T" to an outside water fawcett and he was able to reconnect the new piping to the old galvanized line, which often times is very difficult with old pipe. The finished job was neat and will undoubtedly out last me. I very much appreciated his extra effort.
Description of Work: The pre- and post-filters for the reverse osmosis system were replaced and the water quality was checked. A new well cap was installed. Old corroded pipe between the pressurized water tank and the softener was replaced.

In the meantime I called someone else and they were right out. Donamarc priced me at $1300 for a new water softener. It seemed a little high and was not willing to work with me.

+ -1 moreThey were very knowledgeable. The man who came was the one who owned the company. We had two other companies come before them and they were not able to solve our problems. He was the only one who told us that we had to re pressure our well pressure tank every year. He told us how to do it.

+ -1 moreAwful. Horrific. A service nightmare. I'd rather live with dirty well water than let Donamarc touch my system.
Description of Work: I hired Donamarc to treat my well water. During the process of "shocking" my system, they turned off my water softener without telling me -- and never saw fit to either turn it back on themselves or tell me of my need to do it. (They left behind a flyer of next steps that included turning your water softener back on, if Donamarc had turned it off -- but they never indicated that they had done this, or that I should assume they had.) Days later, when the water quality in my home was something just short of awful, I called Donamarac and was told by the receptionist that, most likely, my water softener had been turned off. She wanted to walk me through the steps to turning it back on over the phone, but I stopped her, saying it was nonsense -- that if they turned it off, they should turn it back on. Hours later, Don himself called and told me he would have to charge me $55 to turn it back on. Instead, he, too, preferred to treat me like a novice worker (instead of a customer) and decided to give me directions on how to turn the softener back on over the phone. He directed me to a handle on the back of the unit that had been pointing downward to the ground. When I asked whether this handle needed to be put in a fully upright position, Don said no -- it just needed to be halfway up, or parallel to the ground. I followed Don's instructions and left it at that. Approximately six weeks later, I returned home from an extended out-of-town engagement. My wife commented on the water, saying it still had an awful feel to it and asking whether I had simply forgotten to add salt to the unit before I had left six weeks earlier. I went and looked and -- wouldn't you know it? -- the salt line had not moved an inch from where I had left it after my conversation with Don six weeks earlier. In short, not only had Donamarc shut off my system without telling me, their over-the-phone instructions (you know, where they treat you like their novice worker rather than their customer) were incorrect, thereby denying my family softened water for six weeks. The residue left in toilets and in tubs and bathroom fixtures was incredible. We also had several white garments that were ruined in the laundry. I found the manual for my softener and looked up how to turn the unit on and off. Don's instructions were wrong: The lever had to fully upright. I did that, and my soft water returned, some six weeks after Donamarc turned it off without my knowledge.

I just bought this house and wanted an expert to explain the chlorinator and filtering systems (i.e., to educate me) and to ensure the system was working as it is supposed to. Don came out on time, and did a great job in taking his time to explain everything to me and test the water. I was impressed when he told me that the chlorinator and filter might not even be needed. Only when I pressed him on options for more water pressure and water treatment did he explore some of the products and services they offer. He encouraged me to live there for awhile, bypass the chlorinator and/or filter, and see how the water turned out. Then, if I wanted or needed something, to call them. I plan on calling them about the poor water pressure and maybe more.

+ -1 moreWorking with Donamarc was a pleasure. Jeremy was our service professional who was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and clean. I found Donamarc on Angie's list as already highly rated, so based on my experience with other service companies, I decided to give them a try. I scheduled an appointment within 1 day and spoke with an operator who was nice and knew what she was talking about. Jeremy arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem. Our greensand filter was not functioning properly which was causing odor and staining in our sinks. Jeremy attempted to recharge the greensand media onsite, but it was so clogged that he had to take it back to his shop to power wash the old, compacted greensand out. This took extra time and required him to come back out late to reinstall it. Jeremy took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and why it needed to be done. He even encouraged me to watch him work so that he could explain the easy stuff so that I could perform it in the future. THANKS.
Description of Work: I own a well system which includes a water softener, pressure tank, and greensand/potassium filter. Donamarc replaced and filled the potassium tank, replaced the media in the greensand filter and recharged pressure tank.
