D & S Flooring & Carpeting Inc

The entire process could not have gone smoother. We originally met the owner and his son months ago to get an estimate for a flooring repair at another property. We ended up not being able to hire them for that job, but they had been so helpful an responsive that we kept their card in hopes of hiring them in the future for our flooring needs. The last piece of our recent family room project was the carpeting. We went to D & S with our colors and met Peggy who showed us all of our options throughout the store. She was most helpful without being pushy. She explained the pricing and the entire process. Once we made the deposit, they ordered the carpet, and when it came in they called for an installation date, accommodating our busy schedule by doing the job on a Saturday morning. On the morning of the installation, they arrived 5 minutes early. They came fully prepared with the carpet already seamed together. They took less than an hour and a half to do the job and did a fine job of cleaning up when they left. The two man crew consisted of the owner's son and another experienced installer, both of whom were very experienced and professional. All in all, if you are like me and would rather use a smaller family shop than a big box store or a large volume flooring store, this is the place for you. They are friendly, helpful and very professional.

They stayed after hours so we could meet them at their showroom. They were very patient and helpful assisting us with the decision of what type of carpeting to use. We set an installation date and that went exactly as planned. We were disappointed with some aspects of the installation job, however. The seams were very evident. We had just built a beautiful new red oak railing around the stair opening which was badly scuffed after their installation. We had to sand and restain the damage. There also was a lot of chipping of the freshly painted floor moldings which we had to touch up, but that may be part of the process. We were surprised that they left a lot of carpeting debris because the person that recommended them told us that they always clean up after themselves better than any other carpet installer that he has had experience with. Besides these problems, the installation was good and we are satisfied.

THE MAIN THING THAT MAKES ME RECOMMEND D & S IS THAT WHEN I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE PERGO THEY INSTALLED IN MY KITCHEN, THEY HELPED ME CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER AND REPLACED IT.
