+ -1 moreAfter a bad experience with another company, I found this company online and called them to help us out with an ant problem in our home. The technician showed up right on time and was friendly but business-like. He told me a little bit about the company and asked me where I'd been seeing ants. He treated those areas as well as other areas where he suspected there may be activity. I told him we had also seen stinkbugs flying in our bedroom, so he went ahead and treated that area as well, no extra charge. I asked several questions and he seemed quite knowledgeable about where bugs live and how they get into homes. He treated the exterior of our home and left with instructions that we may see a few residual ants within the next few days but he would come back out for free within 6 mons if we saw a resumption of activity. 6 weeks out, and we are happily ant- and stinkbug-free with no need to cash in on their guarantee.

With one treatment the issue was resolved. Couldn't ask for better than that. The price quoted was what I paid and there was no muss, no fuss in handling the credit card information over the phone. I hope to never need their services again but if I do, I know who to call.

+ 0 moreWill sound weird, is my ex wife's place, we had Ray out in the spring to deal with a "bug" problem and then out again to do the mouse thing. He does an excellent job of explaining how he surveys for entry and runs and and how to best deal with them. He is a great guy to work with; was glad I was there to watch and understand. Made ex feel very comfortable and pleased, whew, with the work completed. will use him again next year.

+ -1 moreA raccoon established residence under our front steps in the summer of 2012. We called APC who came out and baited and set a trap for her. Over the next 2 days we found the bait removed from the trap but no raccoon. APC decided to set another larger trap in another area. That was successful as a huge raccoon was caught the next morning. She was so big that she could reach into the smaller trap, get the bait and back out without springing the trap.After she was caught we could still hear some activity under under the porch, suggesting a family remained. A smaller trap was baited again to catch them but the bait was not touched over a 2 day interval. APC returned and had to completely tear out the steps to retrieve the 5 babies. We were very impressed with the persistence of APC in catching the rogue mother raccoon and extracting the babies. APC was so careful removing the steps and replacing them that they have held up over a year and a half. We would highly recommend APC for the excellent service and commitment to finishing the job completely. We have used them previously and will certainly use them again when the need arises.

+ -1 moreGentleman arrived a few minutes early. I was extremely impressed by his politeness, knowledge, and professionalism. He suspected that we trapped the ants when we applied a barrier method outside and the ones in the home are residual. He applied a coating of treatment in the problem areas that the ants will take back to their nest and kill the whole nest. He also applied product outside of the home around the perimeter. All work is guaranteed to work within 30 days. If this does not fix the problem, I have little doubt that I would have any issue contacting them to revisit to fix the issue. All in all, I'm extremely impressed and will definitely be a repeat customer.

+ -1 moreI called about scheduling an appointment and was told they could be out the next day to take care of it. I did not even need to be home. The office scheduler asked clear questions as to location of the nest, if a ladder would be needed to reach it, and gave me the cost right over the phone. She also advised me to make sure to keep my dogs out of the area for a few days, as some yellow jackets who were not in the nest could be in the area after treatment and would be agitated. When I came home the next day, the nest had been treated, a copy of the invoice was left for me, and a couple days later a bill was received in the mail. I have seen no yellow jackets since the treatment and am very pleased with the service.

+ 0 moreWorking with Akron Pest Control was an extremely positive experience. Support/Office staff (Margaret) was extremely courteous each and everytime that I needed to called in to ask questions, report that something had been trapped, etc. I was given an invoice each time a service was performed and given the opportunity to pay as each service was rendered or once the entire job was completed. In addition, I also was informed of additional services that they perform as well. I thought their website was extremely informative as it listed and showed a photo of each employee, their area of expertise and certifications.
Description of Work: Brian came out and assessed my roof to determine the site of entry of raccoons. He also took pictures to show the extent of damage that the raccoon had did on the roof. Brian sat a trap on 7-22-13 and came back on 7-26-13 to see if anything had been trapped. He observed that that raccoon had come back and taken out the bait. He placed additional bait in the trap. The next day (7-27-13), a 40 lb. raccoon was trapped. I called the office and left a message for Margaret. Without my knowledge, when the called was received, she immediately dispatched Brian to come out to retrieve it. Brian set up another trap on 7-28-13, and the next morning prior to leaving for church, another (30 lb) raccoon had been trapped. I called the office and left a message. When I returned home, the trapped had been removed from the roof and another set up. I was advised to monitor the situation and to wait a couple of days to see if anything else would be trapped. On 7-31-13, I placed a call to have the trap removed. What I liked most of all in dealing with Akron Pest Control was the fact that on many days Brian would come by to see if anything had been trapped without me having to place a call into the office.

The young lady who answered the phone was very pleasant, but stated that they could not help me because I was out of county, and they were not accepting out of county jobs for the time being (even though they advertised that they were operational in several counties, including my own.

Technician was very professional and knowledgeable about the pests involved - carpenter ants and carpenter bees. Technician applied chemicals to inside perimeter of house upstairs and in the basement. Technician then applied chemicals to outside permiter of house and treated several areas where carpenter bees had been active. Service is warrantied for a year and I believe they would return if I spot any insects in the house. All in all the company is wonderful to deal with - they show up as promised and perform the services they promise to provide. I would recommend them.

Description of Work: We called Akron Pest Control following a complaint from the tenant in our rental property concerning ants invading the inside of the home. We called and they gave us an estimate and were able to treat the property within 2 days of contact. The main culprit was carpenter ants. Dave treated the interior and entire foundation, including areas like crawl space and crevices " favorable for activity". No sign of ants since then. We feel they did a very thorough treatment . There is a one year guarantee for the service They also offer a discounted re-treatment the following year.

I saw some ant activity after the first treatment and they came back right away to retreat. Since then everything has been good. He did a thorough inside and outside check, and found some things I didn't see such as the wasps starting to build a nest on the porch. My place was vacant for some time so I needed to have an effective job done. I am very pleased.

Description of Work: We had Carpentar Ants! Being new to the area - we did not know what they were, but the lady over the phone sure did when I described them! They came out the next day and prayed inside. Next day - WOW! I have not seen another...they had to wait for warmer weather to spray around the outside. Came back as promised. No additional charge. Contract is good for a year if I spy another one of these critters!
