We have waited years to be able to demolish our previous ugly rotted wooden decking and replace it with a bigger deck that went with the house and the completely renovated back yard. The process of finding a contractor is tough, but Michael at T.O.C stood out from the rest immediately. Not only does he take the time to listen to what you actually want (or in my case, a long list of what I didn't want) but additionally he is VERY straightforward about how to get the most from your money and the materials. Other contractors either TOLD us what would be best or were hopeless with emails and communication. Michael has been easily accessible and available throughout the whole process. We went for a cottage grey fibreon board and things moved extremely quickly. He has a capable and friendly crew who were polite and totally respectful of my property and our home - we were working from home throughout demolition and construction. We had unexpected issues along the way - but Michael calmly countered my panic with solutions born of his long experience in doing decks, and only decks, for a long time. We truly have the best deck in our street and our neighbors have all been amazed to see the finished results. It's like having a huge extra room on the house, easy to clean and a huge added value to the house. I've written lot in this review because Michael has had to wait ages for me to write this, for which I send my apologies and gratitude. He is a top rate guy who is genuinely interested in delivering you exactly what you wanted. We are all so grateful - and you will be too. Thanks Touch of Class!!!

The work was excellent. Mike was a pleasure to work with, he did everything I wanted and made sure everything was up to code. His guys were knowledgeable and clean. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a quality deck at an affordable price.

Having had work done by many contractors in the past, I must say that I was very leery about the ridiculous number of outstanding recommendations I read on Angie's. I met with Michael at my home to discuss building my deck, and could immediately see that he had great experience and expertise in deck building (that's all he does now!). Michael promptly sent me a proposal with a very reasonable price and a number of specific commitments as to materials, etc. Michael's crew arrived about 10 days ago and they were the most courteous and hardworking team from day one until the job was completed just a few days ago. Every one of the workmen knew their jobs, and there wasn't a moment that I observed where each of them was busy working, whether measuring, cutting or working together putting up the deck! Everything Michael said he would do was done, and the deck came out beautifully. I could not be more pleased with this experience. Thank you Michael and all of the Touch of Class guys!!

Michael and his crew did a fantastic job in replacing our falling apart wooden deck with a new composite one. He provided good assistance in selecting the best materials based on our needs. We encountered a few unexpected issues along the way (which is normal for ANY home renovation project), such as discovering the original deck foundation was leaning/not level, and the post heights were slightly off after installation. All issues were presented to us, discussed, and fully corrected before completion of the project. Bottom line - If I ever need another deck, would definitely hire Michael again!

Professional work

It was a challenge finding a good contractor for our deck project during COVID. We eventually found Michael who is knowledgable, has good communication and offered reasonable pricing. We ended up choosing Michael's company "Touch of Class" to do a fairly high-end deck with Timberteck Azek decking and cable rails. His team worked fast and did a fantastic job. The deck is beautiful and the guys were great with the little details and cleanup. We are extremely happy with the results and would pick Michael again in a second. We even recommended him to our neighbor who was looking to do his deck and like what he saw on our project.

Michael was great in explaining the different decking products. He also went over what he recommended for our deck replacement plan. Very prompt and kept to schedule for completing our project. Would definitely recommend him for your project.

I am happy to recommend Michael Palmentieroâ company Touch of Class. In March 2022, the company replaced our existing wood deck with Timber Tech, including all the railings and stairs. Touch of Class did a great job. Michael worked through all aspects of the work with us including helping us pick the right materials and color. The crew worked quickly and efficiently. After removing the existing decking, they inspected the joists and recommended replacements for cracked and rotting timbers. The lead worker, Nelson, is a master at problem solving. The cost was reasonable, including necessary extras. Michael was responsive to all our requests and personally inspected the work. The job was professionally conducted and workmanship was excellent. I highly recommend them.
