Tapia's Landscaping

Contacted the owner in October he gave me an estimate. Called 2 days ago to set up the work. He proceeds to tell me that the price he gave does not apply and that he wont honor it and that it would be 300% more expensive than he originally promised. Then he tried to be smooth and say that the pricing i received was for good customer only. Well i guess i was a bad customer in his book. F

We recently moved into a new house and the previous owners seemed to be massively into their garden and plants. Unfortunately, we do not have a green thumb so we needed someone to clean up our overgrown grass / yard and save the garden. After contacting Freddy (the owner) via Angie's List email, he immediately responded and arrived the next day on time to provide a quote. Freddy offered advice on how to best keep the garden and even suggested ideas on low-maintenance plants. Freddy provided a reasonable quote and his two-man team arrived with him on the scheduled work day with all the necessary equipment. Freddy gave his team a walk-through and explained what needed to be done, before he went off and let them work. The team (Cecilio & Alfredo) worked diligently from about 8 AM to about 1 -2 PM and all I can say is WOW! They got rid of all the dead plants, weeds and trimmed overgrown greenery. The outside of my home looked brand new! I was beyond impressed with how well they worked and even more impressed with how well they cleaned up afterwards. Everything was perfect and I would ABSOLUTELY hire them again.

Did a great job on the spring clean up for a very reasonable price in a large yard (front and back). Came out punctually to provide a quote and we opted for the spring clean ($300) and weekly lawn service ($50). Spring clean up was done the following week (2 or 3 days later) without any hassle. Everything was trimmed/cut, the nasty leaves were all gone. Really good job. Yet to start on the weekly lawn service but if is in line with the above we should be using them for a long while. The Privacy tree line and other quotes were also reasonable (will probably do in the near future when we have more $$!) and they had some excellent ideas on how we could solve the 'wet lawn' issue we currently have.

This went fine except that I attempted to cancel this order. I wanted a completely different service. A Tapia employee contacted me to discuss the details. When I told him I wanted my yard aerated he said that can't be done until March/April. He told me to contact Angies List to get my money back. So I emailed Angies List several times and no one got back to me. And guess what? Tapia emailed me on Angies List to tell me that they were coming that week. So I came home to see my yard cleaned up. (I never wanted this done in the first place!!!!). To me, this was a dirty business move on behalf of Angie's List and Tapia for that matter. Especially after I spoke with them. As far as Angies List is concerned, I almost want to classify this company as a scam! You will never be able to get your money back if you ask for it. NEVER AGAIN ANGIES LIST!

I used Tapia's for snowplowing. BEST winter decision I have made in a long while. Prompt, courteous, they COMMUNICATE with me, not like other plow people who maybe show up. Price is fair as I have a long driveway. I would recommend them without reservation.

I would give them an A, they were great to work with and I would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent they cleaned everything up

I had paid $149 for four workers for an hour. After an hour, the work wasn't completed, so a call was made and I agreed to pay another 149 to complete the job. This was typical of what I had paid in the past, although 2-3 workers were involved for a little less time. I was satisfied, although I had been expecting a bit more of a bargain. I gave a "B" only because of the unexpected need to pay more.

Bought an Angies List deal for 4 hours of landscaping. Because of rain and snow, I asked to reschedule the appointment a couple of times, and Tapia's Landscaping was always very responsive and accommodating. I had a large amount of leaves on my property and deck. They did a very nice job cleaning up all the leaves from my lawn, including from around the bushes, and the deck. They also mowed the lawn after cleaning up all the leaves. My property looked amazing afterwards. I will gladly hire them again.

I purchased 4 hours of yard cleanup. The workers came and did a good job. There was a question about the number of bags they filled and the price but we were able to work it out. They filled 6 bags and the deal covered 1 cubic yard. I have a small yard so a did not think I would be close to the 1 cubic yard threshold. Additionally the fine print stated shrub and ornamental tree trimming (maximum height= 10ft) were included. I asked the worker to trim a bush in my yard and he replied that they did not bring equipment to trim bushes.

Prompt and courteous service. Provided estimate. Hope to use them in the near future.

I ordered this "Big Deal". 4 hours landscaping service for $149.00 I confirmed the appointment date for 10-18 twice by email. They did not show. When I called, the owner Freddy simply said, "I forgot, I only have one crew and they are already scheduled somewhere else.". No call, no contact nothing. Poor service. This was a "Big Deal" and obviously he did not want to honor it, as he was making more money somewhere else. Very poor experience for my first time using Angie's list.

The team has done an excellent job. They were responsive, punctual and thorough. The whole job on our small driveway took about 2 weeks but the results are fantastic! Our front yard has been transformed. My husband and I were very impressed with masons' patience putting together random pattern we requested. The team is very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend them and will hire them again.

I called at 8:45 in the morning and was told, "I forgot" by Freddy Tapia, the owner. He said he already sent his crew to another location and made no offer to reschedule. Quite clearly he did not want to honor the "Big Deal". Would never use the provider as he is completely unreliable.

The property and home I purchased had 2 acres of overgrown weeds and poorly maintained bushes, trees and shrubs. Freddy and his team cleaned, pruned and weeded my entire property for phase one of a multi phase project. Freddy is kind, honest, and grateful to have earned your business. He was on time and went above and beyond my expectation. Money well spent .

Freddy was very friendly & knowledgeable. His 2-man crew came a few minutes early (nice)! They were neat & hard-working & barely took a break. The job took about 4 hours and Freddy came before & after. All in all a good experience.

It's $45 every time they do it. I've been using them since last fall. They're pretty good.

Freddy came to my house before any work began and gave an estimate on how much it would cost to cut the lawn on a weekly basis. I thought the price was fair for the amount of yard I have. The same week he came back with his crew did a spring clean up and cut my lawn and I'm pleased with the service. They arrive promptly every week to do the job. In fact I had a discrepancy on my billing and when I called Freddy and left a message he got back to me promptly and we resolved the issue.
