John's work ethic was good and he is very personable. We were treated well and we are very pleased with the work that was done.

Second time using this co. Everything was done to perfection. Covered areas of house & floors to prevent damage. He cleaned up as work progressed. Quality of the work was the best. Meticulous for detail, list all the little extras that weren't in contract.

It went excellent. Mr.Russo came to our condo, and did initial measurements, and provided estimates. Upon estimates, we agreed to work with Mr.Russo for 60 sq ft of back splash tiles installation in our kitchen. Mr.Russo was very nice to pick up tiles from the shop to do sealing, and set up time with us for installation. Mr Russo arrived on time (9A.M) as promised, did an excellent job protecting our kitchen, and worked carefully. 60 Sq ft of back splash was installed by 3:30 P.M. After installation, Mr Russo and his employee did a very nice job cleaning up an entire kitchen and surrounding areas. Next day Mr Russo arrived to finish up the grouting. Mr Russo arrived on time (very important for us, as we took time off from work). Grouting was completed in few hrs, followed up with nice job on cleaning. Mr.John Russo was very courteous, friendly, and very professional. Mr. Russo's work was excellent and professional. All the tiles are well aligned, grouting is done nicely without any problems to rest of kitchen or counter top. I would highly recommend Mr. Russo for any tiles installations. If I have any work in future, I will 100% contact Mr.Russo for his services. Thanks, Happy Customer

We were extremely pleased with the whole process! John was very prompt in returning our call for the initial quote and then emailed us a timely and very detailed description of the work he would perform. We had received a quote from another contractor (which was only a verbalized amount), and because John's quote was quite reasonable in comparison and his reports on Angie's list were very favorable, we felt most comfortable having him perform the work. Envisioning and selecting components for two bathrooms was a bit overwhelming but John suggested an excellent tile store where he receives a discount. John also picked up all of the components for the job from them and communicated with them directly regarding additional components, making it very convenient for us. John was very punctual, and would always give a call to let us know when he would start each day. He was on site during the entire process and each day would tell us his goal for that day and what he planned to do the next. During certain installation procedures, he would call us in to explain what he was doing and why so that we understood (for example) the functional design of the shower floor and how the underlying layers worked to ensure optimal drainage. After he demolished the master bath, we realized that the original wiring in there was not correct. He and his assistants spent a considerable amount of time and effort to make the electrical in both bathrooms up to code (and even very kindly patched up some open holes in the drywall we had in our garage from some of our previous work that we had not yet sealed up). John also brought to our attention a buried junction box that he also fixed and made to code. These and other instances highlight John's character in that he not only strives to do a good job, but will also strive to make things right. In spite of these and other unexpected snags (the electrical work alone cost two extra days), John never changes his price from his quote. All contractors should work this way! John consulted us about the placement of all bathroom fixtures and also gave helpful suggestions regarding placement if we were unsure. Finally, John's craftsmanship at tile installation is excellent! We are very happy with how beautiful the tiles look in both bathrooms; they are nicely aligned and flush and the grout looks great. We are pleased with the patterns John chose in the placement of the tiles and the quality and attention to detail he put into the entire job. All homeowners know that any type of remodeling is stressful. We would like to point out that John and his two assistants for the job, Tom and Sal, were incredibly friendly, courteous and competent, which made the whole process much easier for us. Also, we have a toddler that is very curious - all three men were extremely kind to her. Finally, we were pleasantly surprised by how much care John and his crew put into keeping the dust and debris confined to the work areas. Each day, they placed foam tiles and drop-cloths to protect the floors between the front door and the bathrooms. During any activity that would generate dust, he had fans placed in the bathroom windows to exhaust it out-of-doors instead of into the rest of the house. At the end of each day, he vacuumed not only the work area, but the complete path to the front door. We found almost no dust from any of the work in the rest of the house, even when he was working with joint compound. We have replaced nearly every major component of our house (roof, boiler, windows, exterior, paint, sprinklers, garage door.....), and John has been, by far, the best contractor that we have found, even among those rated highly on Angie's List.

John Russo was fabulous and incredible. He charged me $14000 for one project and $6000 for another one. The remodeling of the master bathroom was above perfection. He really cared about making it rare like by using the right pieces and the right tiles. He was very patient. He got it done when he said he was going to get it done. He was here when he said he was going to be here. He was clean and neat. There is nobody better than John Russo. He was very careful and cared about everything. His helpers were great. He did it all and it?s gorgeous. If anyone hires John Russo, then they can get the work done the way they like it. It?s going to be done right and it?s going to be done to their liking. They are not going to have any arguments with him. He is really there to please the customer. He does a 150%. He makes things easy. He is very agreeable. He doesn?t get upset. He is clean and neat. He is really a perfectionist. He just wants to please the customer. He will do anything to make you happy. He has done a lot of work for me over the last six years. I have used him time and time again. He did my son?s bathroom. He gutted the bathroom completely down to the studs and redid the entire thing. He also built the shower and it?s gorgeous. He also remodeled my daughter?s shower. He did another bathroom for me. He did my hallway floor. He has done quite a bit here. I wouldn?t hire anybody else and I wouldn?t trust anybody else. He works here by himself and I don?t need to be at home. He is clean himself and he doesn?t smell like a lot of workers do. He is nice to have around. He is quiet and is a great guy. He knows what he is doing. He recommended a painter and the painter that he recommended was great. I think we got much more for the price we paid. He does everything for me and he is my all time favorite contractor. Everybody should have him. If there is anything nice in my home, then he is the one who has done it. He has also done the way I like it. I have had other work done by others in my home which is fine, but it?s not exactly the way I liked it. I am very proud of John?s work. I wasn?t very proud of it at all before he fixed my kitchen because the previous contractor was horrible. So you can really trust John. He is the guy to hire for your job. I would definitely use him again in the future. In fact, I am thinking of using him again for something.

It wasn?t them, but we just decided to go with someone who could do the whole job instead of breaking it up into smaller jobs. They could do only the tile work. We found out somebody who could do the tile work and the hearth. I don?t remember the price, but it was a fair price. We had nothing to do with them or the price. They were on time. They guy who came out was professional and nice. There was nothing wrong with them. I don?t know if I would use their services again or not.

We found John through Angie's List and couldn't be more pleased with his work. He informed us in the beginning about possible concerns, gave us a estimate the first day and stood by his price. John and his crew were the neatest workers we ever experienced. At the end of each day, they cleaned up like they were never there. His suggestions on placement of floor tile, shower design, overhead lights, outlets, etc. helped us to create a great new space. John is a master at his craft and takes great pride in his work. Our bathroom is better than we could have ever imagined. We are about 99% finished, shower doors will be installed tomorrow. We will be using John for some additional work in another bathroom. We would highly recommend him to anyone doing renovations.

John is not only an excellent craftsman but smart! He approached our marble shower stall problem from a completely different angle that that saved time and money. He did an excellent job getting the grout on our ceramic tile/grout kitchen counters clean. When one area didn't come out as well as he would have liked he removed the grout and re-grouted the area--at no extra charge! He really stands behind his work (changed the grout color so it matched the backsplash when we said we didn't like the bright white of a newly grouted counter). He could not have been nicer or more accommodating AND does excellent work.

John worked above and beyond any of our expectations and was beyond fair with his price. John has an amazing work ethic, keeps a very clean job site, shows up when he says he will (and on time) and stayed with the job until he (and we) were fully satisfied with the job. John provided great contractor expertise as well as provided great suggestions to ensure our project was at the design level we had hoped for. His work is precise and he never takes a shortcut even if it would take him less time to do the job. Because we only have one shower/tub, John was very considerate with his timing and work so that we were not badly affected by not having a place to bathe. More than anything John is simply an honest, talented hard working man and was nothing but a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend John Russo of JR Marble and Tile and have already done so with our friends and family.

***** Five Stars is what describes John and his business. John is without a doubt the most wonderful tile person in all of Westchester and Fairfield Counties. To briefly tell you our story is to tell you about a totally botched job! We had hired some people we believed to be very qualified but as it turned out they did not have a clue about tiling and were learning with our job! To say the least they did a really bad job and all of their work had to be taken out! This is where John came in. He not only told us he could correct all of their mistakes he made our bathroom look better than we could have ever imagined. Our master bathroom is large and was new construction, it has a Jacuzzi, a large walk in shower and a closet; We had been waiting and saving for years to complete it. John was respectful of our being both upset and very non-trusting and when we did ask his opinion on different things he was honest and never forceful. His opinions, by the way, were fabulous in a way that someone who really knows what they are doing can give. The people who worked with him and the people he recommended were also superb! We are so grateful for what John was able to do for us and how he gave us not only a beautifully tiled bathroom but a real work of art. We highly recommend John to anyone who needs any type of tile work done. He was always professional, very reasonable and fabulously creative and if you take the time and get to know him you will find he has a heart of gold, old fashion work values and a wonderful sense of humor. Sometimes something horrible does turn out to be a magnificent thing! We only wish we had meet John first!

Both of our bathrooms turned out much better than we could every have imagined. The tile work is beautiful (John is the most meticulous, picky tile installer!!) as is every other aspect of the bathroom. John was at the work site everyday for the full day (rather than some contractors who show up for an hour and leave) and would discuss with me what would be taking place over the week and the decisions we would have to make during the week. I was able to see progress every single day- that is very satisfying for a person like me!! Before John installed any of the tile, he would lay out what it would look like and if necessary, suggest changes to make it even better. In addition, we didn?t move out of our bedroom during the renovation which is an indication of how orderly and clean John left the site at the end of each day. Lastly, he was very friendly and pleasant to have around at our house. We couldn?t have been happier with the work that John Russo completed for us- we recommend him strongly and do to all of our friends and neighbors!!

John and his crew did a great job repairing broken marble tile in our master bathroom. Not only did he fix the problem but he figured out the source of the problem and corrected it so that we wouldn't have the same problem again!! He goes the extra step which unfortunately is unusual in this day and age.. Apart from his excellent skills and neat job site (plus he didn't wear his shoes in the house!), I liked that he was not afraid of my questions. I like to see what is going on with a job and ask lots of questions. Not only did he answer my questions but he welcomed my presence at the site - for me that is the key to knowing if someone knows what they are doing - and John certainly knows his craft! I highly recommend him and will certainly use him again!!

He does beautiful work. He is timely, neat, clean, efficient, reasonably priced, pleasant person to work with and most of all he is a perfectionist. I would never use anyone else for remodeling work.

I have had much work done in my home over the years, but I must say that John and his crew from JR Marble and Tile was one of the best experiences I've ever had with any craft that has done work for me. From the friendly office staff to the men removing their shoes before walking into my home (without being asked!) is a true testament of the way this company operates. Meeting John for the first time during the estimate process was pleasant and he was prompt. He took the time to answer every question asked and came up with some wonderful ideas for our bathrooms when my wife and I were stumped. During the gutting (demolition process) John and his men were extremely cautious about the rest of the house.Drop clothes were put down, fans put in place to exhaust the dust and every precaution was taken not only during this evolution, but throughout the entire renovation to keep unnecessary dust down to a minimum. I cannot emphasis enough how neat,clean and orderly these guys are. The job itself went great. No job goes perfect,but the few emergent issues that came up during the actual construction phase of the job were quickly fixed and I was grateful for John's experience resolving those unforeseen issues when they did arise. The job was completed in the time-frame given and all costs stayed within budget. The tile looks absolutely beautiful. Exactly the way it was planned out. In closing, you will not find a better tile man, period. John is a craftsman in a world where there are very few that are true to their trade and that is why I am taking the time to write this.I recommend him. You will not be disappointed.

They do amazing work. John is very skillful at his craft. We weren't sure how to place the tiles and John knew immediately which way would work and look the best. He has a keen eye for detail. He even suggested where to place the borders fixtures etc. He is extremely honest and reliable which is very important to us. Our bathrooms are beautiful. The tiling came out exactly as we wanted. Any issues that arose he was able to handle and take care of. His prices are very reasonable and we would highly recommend him.

John and his crew were exceptionally professional and were true to their word on all the details. They came when they said they would and were not intrusive at all. Each day when they finished, everything was neat and tidy and there were no messes to deal with. John gave us lots of good advice and worked with us and what we wanted to accomplish in terms of the new bathroom. We are very pleased! We will definitely call John and JR Marble Tile again!

John did a wonderful job. Went out his his way to accommodate us with dates, did a lot of extras that were not discussed originally and did not charge for them. The place was cleaned at the end of each day and one would not know that any work took place. He tiled the whole bathroom from floor to ceiling, after putting new sheetrock, installed a window, new plumbing for the shower and toilet, new electrical outlets and new shower with glass doors. Out new bathroom is BEAUTIFUL and the workman ship is first class. If and when we need more work - he is our man.

We originally used Mr. Russo for our home in Bedford NY for tile work. When we moved to a new home in Greenwich we interviewed a number of other contractors, but none gave us the level of confidence that he did. We found his pricing to be fair and appropriate for the project undertaken. From day 1 he showed up on time and done an impeccable job of overseeing progress and quality of the work done by sub-contractors. He did an excellent job of negotiating prices from those subcontractors as well as often finding better quality and less expensive alternatives to work proposed by subcontractors. We have always felt that he has watched our back. In addition we have found his tile work to be second to none. We have, over the past 20 years in various homes, used contractors with whom we have been very happy. However, none of them covered the Greenwich area so we were forced to find someone new. In the end, we found Mr. Russo to be the best contractor we have ever worked with. At the end of each day, he ensured that our home was left spotless, which was important because we lived in the house throughout the renovation. When problems unexpectedly arose, he has been available after hours and on weekends. Although we have no intention of ever moving again, we would certainly want Mr. Russo to be our contractor again. His integrity and reliability are of the highest level and we found him to be very easy to work with.

The company is rated as the "Best in Westchester 2006" by Westchester magazine. The owner's wife/office manager claiming that he is so very busy since named "Best in Westchester". Gave an appointment for an estimate to renovate and tile 2 bathrooms with marble, 3 weeks after the first call. The owner missed that first appointment. Although his wife/office manager assured me that he never misses appointment, it turns out that he "forgot ". Needed another 2 weeks before the next appointment availability...John Russo went through the estimate requirements in details and promised an estimate within a week. Despite several phone calls and messages left, no estimate or explanation was ever received.
