Description of Work: I asked for general boiler maintenance/service in addition to pointing out a few problems with erratic heat in some rooms. After two visits to inspect the boiler, I was told everything was fine. Two days after that the pilot light burned out during a snowstorm because it was rusty and had finally crumbled. My house with two young children inside had no heat during 10 degree weather. I was told someone would come the following morning, which was completely unacceptable. The temp in the house was already 50 degrees and falling fast. Considering someone had been at our house within the last week to inspect and service the boiler and didn't notice that the pilot light was rusty made me insist that someone come immediately. |Unfortunately one of the problems I had hoped to fix- excessive banging within certain radiators was never fixed. I know that is extremely tricky but was hoping that would be a certain degree of improvement at least.

We always strive to please our clients and have no problem taking responsibility if and when issues arrive with our services. But feel it is not fair when it comes to exaggeration. A boiler service was provided. All components and controls were tested and we're fine. A pilot light can go out from excessive draft or faulty equipment. When the call came in it was asked if service was needed Immediately or if could wait till the morning. It was asked if someone come that day, so we did. A thermocouple was replaced and the system restarted within a few hours of recieiving the call. By no means was the house at 50*. Also,no fees were charged for this after hours call. In response about the noise from the steam system. It was disclosed up front that there were no guarantees this could be resolved due to unseen existing conditions and issues. The boiler was cleaned and flushed out as best as it could be based on the lack of provisions on the initial installation, by others. All steam vents were replaced throughout the house with the hopes of balancing the system, but again there are many variables that come into play with balancing an existing system. Every attempt was made to improve the system and we were never told about any of these displeasure so feel it is unfair to air it publicly.

Description of Work: They checked for a gas leak from my gas dryer. A very minor one was detected and a pipe tightened. Everything is just fine now.
