Description of Work: Called provider to repair a leaking shower, re-connect a stove gas hose, and reset a toilet. After leaving a phone message at around 9:30 am, Nick called back about two hours later. I told him about the problems and he stated that he had a crew in my area and would be at my house within one to one and 1/2 hours. The two-man crew did not arrive until well after 4:00 PM. | |After inspecting the work to be done, I was told that a replacement cartridge was needed for the shower and they would not be able to purchase the part until the following day. They elected not to do the remaining two repairs/services because they preferred to do it all at once. I was also told that their boss, Nick, would call me first thing in the morning with a total price for all the work. | |Nick did not call the next day and after leaving a message at 12:30 PM he returned my call 1/2 hour later. He told me that he would charge me $375.00, but if I chose to make the run to purchase the shower cartridge at the parts store, he would do the work for $300.00. However, he could not do the work until the following day. In addition, I would need the repairmen to pull out the old part, so I could have it matched, and leave them alone in the house to re-set the toilet and replace a simple flexible gas line to the stove while I was gone. | |I agreed to have them come the next morning, but annoyed that I was put off another as hot running water leaking from the shower. I was also very concerned over having to leave two strange men in the house while I was out purchasing the part. | |I then decided to do a little research and found information on You Tube on how to remove and replace the shower cartridge. I could not believe what a simple task it was. It took all but five minutes to remove the part. | |That very day I went to the plumbing supply and purchased the new cartridge for $42.00. I returned home and in five minutes, I installed it worked fine - no more leak. | |I then called A and N and left a message informing them that I wouldn't need the work to be done as I was able to repair the most important issue on my own. He returned my call almost immediately. I thanked him for the estimate and told him that I would replace the gas hose and reset the toilet on my own. And to be courteous, I told him that I would gladly contact him in the future if I needed any major repairs. | |He then became extremely irate and told me to never call him again. He went on to admonish me about how much time he took in trying to fix the problems and how hard it was for him to juggle his appointments to have his crew come in the following day. I then offered to have them come in and provide the other two services as a show of good faith, but he still refused. | |In reality, I was probably too nice with him. In truth, he dragged me along for two days on a repair that could have been made in minutes. In retrospect, I believe he got annoyed more because he was not hired to replace the shower cartridge that would justify his price. I guess, he didn't count on me doing my homework. | |Based upon my interactions and conversations, I would not recommend this company. While I can't comment on their work, I would say that this company lacks in professionalism, timeliness, and customer relation skills. I would call around before deciding to use them. | | | | |
