They collected the chair from my son's apartment in Woodside and did the repair work that needed doing. They then delivered the finished chair to my apartment in Kew Gardens Hills. This arrangement meant some careful logistics planning and Yorkville took it all in their stride and did a fine job delivering on time. This was the second time I had used their services. The first was hand re-caning an antique chair in 2011. I was so impressed with the care with which they did that work that I did not hesitate to ask them to do the second job.

They picked up the chairs promptly and returned them a week later. I had used them a couple of times in the past for the same thing and was always pleased with the results. The cost also includes pick up and delivery of the chairs.

The phone rep was cheerful and well-informed, and graciously worked the pick-up and drop-off around my inflexible schedule. The repair took exactly as long as she suggested it would (7-10 business days: was 9) and the result was perfect. The pick-up and delivery drivers cheerfully climbed all the way up to my fourth-floor walk-up; they must have been relieved it was a little side chair, and not a La-Z-Boy! And the price was exactly as quoted. They accepted my personal check, but would also have taken a credit card over the phone, or cash. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience.

I think that the price of $200 per chair was high, but with no charge for pick up and delivery I decided to go for it. Once they had the chairs they inspected them and said they needed re-gluing as well and that would be $85 per chair. There are chairs that are precious to me, but do not have a high market value. They had the chairs in the shop and said they would send them back, but I knew it would be a lot of work and time for me to get someone else to do the work. So my complaint is that they never suggested that gluing "might" be necessary and $85 per chair was very high compared to other shops. My praise is that they know what they are doing and my chairs look great and will probably last at least another 20 years.

They've done work for me before; extremely prompt, very courteous. They returned the chair within a week, and I have always been pleased.

He is very reliable and honest. He is punctual and does exactly what he says.

THEY ARE A GOOD COMPANY. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB ON MY CHAIR. THE CRAFTSMANSHIP WAS EXCELLENT. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A CHAIR FIXED.

IT WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH A COMPANY THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND DOES THE WORK NECESSARY. THEY DID PICK UP THE CHAIRS LATE BUT THEY GOT THE WORK DONE IN GOOD TIME. THEY WERE HAPPY TO GET MY BUSINESS. THEY REALLY DID A WONDERFUL JOB!

I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS COMPANY. THE HAND CANING WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE LASTED TEN YEARS AND IT BROKE AFTER ONLY THREE MONTHS. THEY HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
