Total disaster!! Brick work had to be replaced after first week. Sections of driveway started flaking after first winter. Initially they tried to blame me. They finally agreed to take care of it. They rescheduled four times but never came. My driveway , three sections, have totally disintegrated after 3 years. They ignore my requests. Their warranty is worthless.DO NOT USE THEM!
Description of Work: I replaced a 100 ft driveway and 100 ft of sidewalk in front of house.I paid $23,000 which was high but I trusted them and was assured of a 15 year warranty.

Horribly. The job was not completed. Nick was repeatedly late or absent from the job site, his men had no respect for our family living in the home above the basement where work was being performed. They used the drain pit they dug as a toilet without installing a sewage pump so the waste is sitting in a "still well" stinking up the entire home. They did not use water when operating the concrete "wet" saw to install the curtain drain which created a dust fog throughout the entire house where our very young children live. This was done with no warning and the dust permeated every conceivable surface. Multiple cleanings and a cleaning service was necessary to get rid of the very fine concrete dust on everything. Little to no materials were purchased with the 50% up-front deposit we agreed to in order to pay for materials. Often his crew was sitting onsite with nothing to do because the materials were not here. Nick left our basement, un-insulated and with large holes in the exterior walls where a door and window were to be installed for over two months leaving us exposed to the winter weather and leaving our home un-secured. Our brand new high efficiency furnace was running constantly creating abnormally high utility bills because Nick did not seal our home when continually asked. We repeatedly asked him to order the door and window and get them installed but it took us begging and waiting weeks for this to happen. And when they were installed, they were not what we requested nor were they installed properly. Additionally he left the "hole" where the steps are without a security rail or handrail creating a hazard where anyone could fall and be severely injured. After we past the contract deadline by almost a month and were no where near complete, no materials were on site, Nick and his workers had not shown up for days when we caught them taking materials and tools from our jobsite to another site. We confronted him and when we questioned him and ultimately fired him, he threatened our lives and to come back and burn the house down if we threatened his license. I would advise anyone considering using Nick for any type of service to think twice. We will NEVER use him again and are still cleaning up the mess and hazards he left.
Description of Work: We hired Nick to do the following projects included in remodeling our basement: Install a curtain drain and sump pump in basement create exterior entrance and egress window in current basement Install a steel "I" beam replacing main girder of house frame, sheet-rock, tape, paint basement install and fully tile bathroom with sewage ejector pump replace interior stairs to home from basement complete all electric necessary for basement Install concrete exterior steps to basement with drain for rain run-off at bottom and handrail plumbing for bathroom, drains and heat for basement

The quality of work wasn't good at all. The main issue however was the fact that it took him 6 months to re-install the handrails. My father needed help going up and down stairs and the handrail was a necessity. Nick continued to tell us that he was going to put them back up, yet he continued to take other jobs without finishing ours. My father eventually decided to use the stairs without assistance or handrails which led to him falling. He ultimately died from complications from that fall. We are currently in litigation with Nick.
Description of Work: Took the hand rail off, said he would sand it and put them back after he completed the work. He replaced flagstones on the porch and leading to the stairs.
Description of Work: We used Nick Ciarlo 3 years ago to do a brick sidewalk up along our driveway and around the edge, a brick stoop and stairs at our front door, blacktop driveway and stucco trim around the garage door. The work was done and looked good at the time but, after a short while, the bricks began to sink, causing a walking hazard and causing people to trip and the stucco trim soon started coming apart. We called Nick about a year after the work was performed and have been calling and calling and calling him for what seems like at least 100 times. Nick called back once or twice out of our 100 calls and promised to come back and do the repairs but, he never did. We offered to pay for the repairs but, he still never came and after a while he didn't return our calls. We begged but, we were ignored. Finally are having the repairs made now and the new contractor says the work was pretty shoddy and was not done properly. Anyone that uses Nick Ciarlo is making a MAJOR mistake. His work doesn't hold up.
